* ArtsyStamper: Monochrome Autumn

Hello!
Happy Monday!

Today sees the start of a new challenge at the new Artsystamper Challenge Blog. Each challenge runs for two weeks and starts on the first and third Monday of the month.
The theme for this challenge is Monochrome
I hope that you can find time to join in the fun!

The winner will receive the stamp set of their choice from TheArtsystamperShop. Beverly Cole’s selections offer stamps and sentiments in each set as well as pre-colored images for easy, last minute cards. Why not take a moment and check out what she has in store!

I used the beautiful Autumn Gifts Digital Stamp Set for my card. I used the pre-coloured images and made my own background.

The background card is 14 x14 cm. I scored at 2cm intervals on both sides of the card, then lightly swiped the flat pad of Distress Oxide inks in the same direction as the score lines. I used Antique Linen, Spiced Pumpkin, Vintage Photo and Scattered Straw. When I was happy with the inking, I let it dry and lightly brayered white chalky paint over the inks - this toned the inks down and added more texture. The result looks like shabby, painted, wooden slats. I learned this technique from the lovely Tracy Evans. I decided the run the background edges through a VersaMark ink pad and heat embossed the edges with copper embossing powder.
I fussy cut the pumpkins and leaves, inked the edges with Vintage Photo and curled and rolled the edges of the leaves to add dimension. I heat embossed three leaves with fine copper EP.

I added some black texture ribbon, some twine ribbon and gold glitter tape across the lower portion of the background. The pumpkins were popped onto the background on foam tape and the leaves arranged at the base. I added two 'falling' leaves.
The sentiment is from the same set. I inked it with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo and popped it on foam tape.

  10. I have my eye on that digi set as I absolutely love the quote and the images not too shabby either. You have done a bang-up job bringing them to life! I sure have been hearing Tracy's name bandied about this fall. She has many admirers. I believe that way I first knew her, if it is the same person, was seeing her work on the Artistic Outpost DT. A while back. The background is gorgeous! xoxo
