Gecko Galz: Holly and Ivy

At Gecko Galz this December, we have yet another busy month. 

All month long, until the 29th, we have the blog customer challenge and the theme is 

Holly and Ivy.

We also have the Christmas Challenge and a monthly Image challenge, as well as 4 Facebook challenges. We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

The winner of the Customer challenge will get a $25 Gecko Galz Etsy Store voucher and the runner up a $12 voucher. There are plenty of free Gecko Galz images if you don't already own any. Each blog post has a free image to collect and, if you sign up for the monthly newsletter, there is the chance to claim a free collage set each month.  Also if you make any purchase of $2 or more you receive a free image.

For my customer inspiration project, I made a Christmas card using one of the new collage sheets, Holly and Ivy and teaming it with an older ATC set called Christmas Traditions. I resized the holly ATC in order to make a 5 x 5 inch panel as the background of my card.

I love gold and glitter at Christmas, and so I went to town with this. A broad band of glitter tape was adhered along the bottom of the background and the background matted onto gold paper. The image was cut with a die and the matching gold mat was cut with the larger die. Both were popped on foam tape for some dimension and a glitter paper poinsettia was made from a die by Marianne Designs. I coloured the glitter card with Oxide ink and added gold Prills in the centre of the flower. I used a Sizzix die to cut the foliage.
