Gecko Galz: Nevermore and Halloween

 

 Hello

It's a new month and we have a new customer challenge over at the Gecko Galz blog.  

The theme this month is 'Nevermore'

As always, we have free images to download to make projects to enter the Card Challenge, the Christmas Image Challenge, the Fantasy Challenge, an ATC challenge, a Steampunk Challenge and a Gothic Challenge,. The free images can be accessed by the tabs at the top of the main blog page. We also have a quarterly challenge on the blog.

If that isn't enough challenges, we also have 4 Facebook challenges each month.

We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

The winner of the Customer challenge will get a $25 Gecko Galz Etsy Store voucher and the runner up a $12 voucher. There are plenty of free Gecko Galz images if you don't already own any. Each blog post has a free image to collect and, if you sign up for the monthly newsletter, there is the chance to claim a free collage set each month.  Also if you make any purchase of $2 or more you receive a free collage sheet.

Here are the projects I made.

It's a set of raven ATCs.

I used the NeverMore collage set. The images were added on foam tape to Gecko Galz's King Louis ATC papers, then matted with foam pads again onto gold, then black card, so they have many layers and dimension.

Here are close ups:

The edges of the ATC papers were heat embossed in black glitter and a piece of gold texture trim was placed below each image. 

Each ATC has a sticker embellishment, either a spider's web or a bat.

Words from Edgar Alan's poem 'Nevermore' were printed, cut into strips and adhered.

I also made this digital collage:

Since it is October, I also made some retro Halloween cards. I used images from the Halloween Card Toppers kit.

I added die cut ferns and flowers to this lovely Halloween girl's card.

A snazzy orange ribbon with a knot bow was added to this Halloween greeting.

This sweet retro witch was in need of a die cut broom and pumpkin.

And, finally, this digital card:

Conjurer of Dreams: Murder Mystery

Today I'm sharing some projects I made using Conjurer of Dreams images. I hope you'll pop over to the store and take a look at the Digital Art on sale for collage, scrapbooks, journals, cards and more.

We have an open, worldwide challenge at the Conjurer of Dreams Blog.

The challenge theme is always 'Anything Goes' and this month we have a twist of 'Murder Mystery'.

I used the Murder Mystery 2 set of tags as the base of my tag book.

Crafts Galore Encore: Garden Gnomes

 

Hello

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore. 

The theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter up to 3 different projects.  The challenge runs all month until mid day (BST) 30th October.

This month's challenge is sponsored by Kim from Conjurer of Dreams and the random winner will receive their choice of 2 sets of digital images from her store..

Here is what I made:

It's a set of cute tags. The set I used is called Gnome Tags and there is so much detail on these images.

I printed the set out twice and chose three tags. The whole tags were matted onto kraft card. From the second tags I fussy cut each gnome, the stamps and number tags and any other complete embellishment such as the butterfly. I inked the edges of these fussy cut bits and layered them using foam pads. Beneath the gnomes and some labels, I added cheesecloth to add some texture.

Here they are once more:

Some calico flowered trim was also added with a small green pearl added in the centre of each flower.

Holes were punched through the top of each tag and lace trim was folded in half and stapled as ties.
