Path of Positivity: Batik Bag

 

Hello

 Today is the midway reminder for the March challenge at the Path of Positivity.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme. 

As this year we are looking at the UNEXPECTED  

the option for March is to 

Make something you wouldn't normally make

This is what I made:

It is a Batik canvas bag. 

I coloured the cream cotton bag with dyes using wax resist applied with a tjanting. 

Below is a close up of the pattern - the cream lines are where the wax was applied. I used a small paintbrush to apply the dyes. Once the dyes were dry, I placed sheets of paper over the bag and ironed over the wax to melt it. The paper absorbed the wax.

Path of Positivity: Toadstool Jewellery and Card

 Today is the start of the March challenge at the Path of Positivity.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme. 

As this year we are looking at the UNEXPECTED

Make something you wouldn't normally make

This is what I made:

I follow Emma Parrish on You Tube and love her Etsy Store full of remarkable printables. 

Last year she did a video where she made a set of jewellery and a pop up card. She even gave away the printable free of charge! She used a new-to-me-product called UV Resin. I had to have a go!

I made a toadstool necklace and a pair of toadstool earrings as well as a small gift card with a pop up toadstool. Glossy Accents was used to add texture to the pop up toadstool.

The UV Resin was very easy to use and dries under the lamp in 90 seconds. It is extremely hard and has a glass-like finish.

Conjurer of Dreams: Spring Time is Almost Here

Hello

Today I'm sharing some projects I made using Conjurer of Dreams images. I hope you'll pop over to the store and take a look at the Digital Art on sale for collage, scrapbooks, journals, cards and more.

Stained Glass Tulips

I used the Stained Glass Tulips set to make a jewellery set and an arched shaped card..

The images in this set are gorgeous and so spring like :)

Pammies Inky Pinkies Challenges #2509 AG 09/03

The Four Seasons Challenge Spring 25/03

For the jewellery the images were reduced in size and printed. Each piece of jewellery has 2 images so that they can be attached back to back. They images were adhered  to black card, then adhered back to back. PVA glue was painted over the images to seal them. A small hole was poked through the top of each of the pieces. UV Resin was then applied and cured and the jewellery findings attached.

The result is like glass.

Moss Forest Fairy Card

 

Pinspirational Challenges #323 Spring Greens 31/03

The Moss Forest Fairy set of images are beautiful. I used one of them here to make a card. I made some die cut flowers and foliage and added a sticker sentiment.

Rocking Chair Notecards

These lovely images of Rocking Chair are super for notecards or retirement cards. I added the images to embossed white card and chose a circle alpha die to make the sentiment.

Alice in Dreamland Notebook

I altered the cover of a spiral bound Kraft notebook with 3D embossed brick card, coloured with Distress Oxide inks and a digitally combined image of Alice in Dreamland against a backdrop of a Stained Glass Fountain.

Stained Glass Tulips Postcards

The tulips were fussy cut from the stained glass windows and adhered to textured white card with some washi tape to ground them. Black sticker sentiments were added.The card was popped onto distressed dotty paper  to frame the images.

Crafts Galore Encore: Teacups & Books

 Hello

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore. 

The theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter up to 3 different projects.  The challenge runs all month until mid day (GMT) 30th March.

This month's challenge is kindly sponsored by Last Minute Manda.

Here is what I made:

I brayered green acrylic paints onto white card to make the background. Then I added white paint to a stencil, spritzed it and stamped it on top of the paint. Black spirals were stamped around the edges,  some text  was stamped and heat embossed in white, then some white splatters applied.

The Shabby Chic Cups and Books Colouring Pages image was printed onto watercolour card and coloured with Polychromo pencils and Inktense water colour pencils. The image was fussy cut and adhered to the background.

I made some die cut flower layers and some foliage and added them as embellishment.

A shop bought sentiment was added.
