Conjurer of Dreams: Spring Time is Almost Here

Hello

Today I'm sharing some projects I made using Conjurer of Dreams images. I hope you'll pop over to the store and take a look at the Digital Art on sale for collage, scrapbooks, journals, cards and more.

We have an open, worldwide challenge at the Conjurer of Dreams Blog.
The challenge theme is always 'Anything Goes'.
We hope you'll share your projects with us.

We also have a friendly Facebook Group where we would love for you to share your Conjurer of Dream projects.

Here are my DT makes.

Stained Glass Tulips

I used the Stained Glass Tulips set to make a jewellery set and an arched shaped card..
The images in this set are gorgeous and so spring like :)

For the jewellery the images were reduced in size and printed. Each piece of jewellery has 2 images so that they can be attached back to back. They images were adhered  to black card, then adhered back to back. PVA glue was painted over the images to seal them. A small hole was poked through the top of each of the pieces. UV Resin was then applied and cured and the jewellery findings attached.
The result is like glass.

Pinspirational Challenges #323 Spring Greens 31/03

The Moss Forest Fairy set of images are beautiful. I used one of them here to make a card. I made some die cut flowers and foliage and added a sticker sentiment.

***
Rocking Chair Notecards

These lovely images of Rocking Chair are super for notecards or retirement cards. I added the images to embossed white card and chose a circle alpha die to make the sentiment.

***

I altered the cover of a spiral bound Kraft notebook with 3D embossed brick card, coloured with Distress Oxide inks and a digitally combined image of Alice in Dreamland against a backdrop of a Stained Glass Fountain.

The tulips were fussy cut from the stained glass windows and adhered to textured white card with some washi tape to ground them. Black sticker sentiments were added. The card was popped onto distressed dotty paper  to frame the images.

Path of Positivity: Little Red

Hello

Today is the midway reminder for the February challenge at the Path of Positivity.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme.

This year we are looking at the UNEXPECTED.

Have you ever received a Valentine's card from someone totally unexpected? If you have, you'll know the joy that receiving a card like that can bring. For this month's option, make and send a handmade Valentine card to someone who won't expect it. You have the power to brighten someone's day!

***

Here is my card made for a friend. I don't normally send Valentine cards to anyone, other than my husband, so this would definitely have been unexpected.

I think the woman in this image is stunning and she looks so thoughtful, just like the person I am sending it to. The image is from a collage sheet from Conjurer of Dreams called 'Red and Friend'. I distresses the edges of the image and layered it onto red card which was also distressed. That was placed onto cream distressed card and finally placed onto a layer of red card. Some simple trim was added to the bottom of the image along with a felt heart and a tiny xoxo sticker was attached.
I made a bookmark with another image from the collage set. It's shape was ideal for making a bookmark, so I matted and layered it onto the same red and cream card and made an eyelet for the ribbon.

That's all for now.
We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!

I'll be back with a another Path of Positivity project in a couple of weeks time.

Conjurer of Dreams: Romance

The challenge theme is always 'Anything Goes', and this month's optional theme is
'Gothic Romance'.
We hope you'll share your projects with us.

We also have a friendly Facebook Group where we would love for you to share your Conjurer of Dream projects.

Here are my DT makes.

Firstly, I made two cards using My Gothic Love images:

The beautiful, gothic image has a small bottle from Love Potions added to it along with a heart sentiment from My Gothic Valentine. The webs were outlined with a silver, sparkle pen. The image was then mounted onto black card and placed onto the red lacy frame. It was made into an easel card.

The second image has a die cut, blac,k lacy frame mounted onto red satin-finish card.

Next I made a set of snarky Voodoo Doll ATCs.
 These make me smile!

For some reason, I found these images really cute ...
I used Red Silk background paper. Each doll has Glossy Accent eyes and hearts which adds texture to the image.

Some die cut, black lace was adhered along the right side with a gingham knot bow.

And I typed snarky sentiments and cut them into strips.

Silly, Voodoo Doll Card

Brass corners add to the texture on this card along with black lace beneath the image and the red, gingham bow at the top. Red Silk papers are the background.

Bunnies in the Snow

This is a greyscale image from Winter Rabbits that I coloured firstly with Polychromo pencils, but then I went back and used Inktense Watercolour Pencils to add more colour depth. I also added some glitter along the snowy tree branches and added white paint splatters to replicate snowfall. The lovely image is enough, so I simply matted it onto red card and placed it on a textured white card blank

Challenges

On the card below, also an image from Winter Rabbits, I coloured the greyscale image then fussy cut it. It is on top of a laser cut, birch tree background with dotty vellum below it and dark blue card beneath that.
I die cut a frame from white card, matted it onto red card and placed it on a textured white card base.

Path of Positivity: The Unexpected Friendship

Hello

Today is the start of the January challenge at the Path of Positivity.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme.

This year we are looking at the UNEXPECTED.
No matter how much planning we do throughout our years on earth, we're going to come across circumstances that we can't plan for. These unexpected things may be small or they may be huge and life altering. The only thing that we can control is how we react to these events.

***
I am anxious and so not very comfortable in social situations with people I don't know and, as such, I prefer to dine at a table for two when we are out or on holiday. However, that isn't always possible. Six and a half years ago, half way around the world, we were taken by the maitre d' to a table for eight people. The couple that we were sat next to recognised our accent, not just that we were from England, but the NW of England, and it turned out that they live just 10 miles from us.
How incredible (and totally unexpected) is that?

They were very friendly, funny and easy to get along with and we became good friends on that holiday.  When it came to an end, we exchanged phone numbers, not really expecting to see them again. How wrong could I have been? We have kept in touch via social media and meet up in person several times a year for a good, old catch up.

The unexpected in this case has led to a lifelong friendship and made me take a new look at some of my fears and causes of anxiety.

This quote by Henri Nouwen is perfect for my experience:

Here is my project.
I made a mini book from a single sheet of 12 x 12 inch black card.

The images are from Artemis Journals on Etsy. They are called Retro Besties and they are perfect for my project. I love this style of artwork, the pops of colour along with some white spaces and the retro girls are gorgeous (just like me and my friend :) ).
I matted each image onto textured sky blue paper and added a sticker sentiment about adventures, possibilities, and being open to new experiences. The booklet is tied with black polka dot ribbon.

Enjoy the individual pages:
