* Textured Houses

Hello!

Today I have been playing with rubber stamps and ink again. I made this card:

I was inspired by a challenge at the Rubber Dance Facebook group:

My card actually fits both challenges, I think - I used the colour palette and my new Textured Houses stamps.

I used a selection of Distress Oxides both for the background and to add colour to the houses. The background was made using an acrylic stamping block. I applied the Oxides to the block making sure not to overlap the inks. The ink was spritzed with water and then used as a stamp. I think I put a little too much water on the ink, but liked the effect it gave.  Once dry, I splattered the background with white and black diluted paint.
The house row was stamped twice onto watercolour paper and heat embossed in silver. I used the same palette of Distress Oxides as watercolours to paint the houses. The first house row was left whole, but the second row was cut into two sections.
I glued the top houses directly onto the background; the middle row has foam pads at the top to give it some dimension and the bottom row is fully mounted on foam pads. The dimension shows a little better here:

I decided to add silver heat embossed stars and a sentiment from Tim Holtz's Small Talk pad. The background was mounted onto shimmery midnight blue card and then onto the blank card base.

Here you can see the colours of oxides I used:

That's all for today!

Thanks for stopping by.

Rubber Dance March: Colour Challenge

March's colour challenge at Rubber Dance is:

This is such a gorgeous colour combination!
Here is a card I made:

Background: First, white card stock was heat embossed with clear powder using a cracked tile stamp and a script stamp, both from Inkilicious Essentials 1 set. Once dry, Tim Holtz distress inks in Crushed Olive and Spiced Marmalade were applied with a blending tool. To add extra depth of colour, the card was spritzed with Dylusions ink in Fresh Lime and Pure Sunshine.

Image: The two dandelion seed heads called 'Make a Wish' from Marion Emberson Designs were stamped and heat embossed with Snowflake Tinsel embossing powder.
Lines of diamond shapes were stamped around the edges using Memento Bamboo Leaves  and Inkilicious stamps.

Banner: Sentiment was heat embossed in white Sea Foam powder and inked with distress inks and Dylusions inks. The banner was attached on foam pads.

All edges were inked with jet black Ranger ink. The finished piece was mounted on black card, then mounted onto the card base.

Thanks for stopping by and looking!
