* Vera Lane Studio: Sit Down

Hello

For my DT project at Vera Lane Studio today I have a card made with the Sit Down digi stamp set which was released recently. I love that it has a set of pre-coloured sofas as well as a black and white one for you to colour and the cute little girl can, if she wishes, snuggle up with some cushions.

I coloured the girl with Copic markers and chose to use one of the pre- coloured sofas. I found this background in my scrapbook - a left over from a previous project. It was made by smooshing card in puddles of Distress Oxide (Scattered Straw, and Victorian Velvet). I added some muted background stamping using stamps from Janet's Visual Ingredients stamp set from AALL & Create and I used Wishy Washi washi tape to ground the sofa.

Sit Down

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Path of Positivity: Whimsy Doodle Mushroom House

Hello!

Today is the midway point of the  Path of Positivity September challenge.
The challenge lasts for the whole month of  September.

The theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of
Meditate/Quiet Time.

Prizes this month include:
  • THREE images from Tindaloo, Digi Doodle Stamps, our guest sponsor for this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • ONE image (value of $5 or less) from Scribbles Designs, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch based on all qualifying entrants.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.

Our optional theme this month is
Meditate/Quiet Time.
We all need a bit of time to relax and be ourselves. Meditation is a great way to centre yourself, but simply being quiet and at ease can go a long way in achieving stillness as well. In our stillness we aim to become emotionally calm, focus our attention (being mindful) and be mentally clear.
Bliss ...
So, this month we would like you to design a project that focuses on Meditation or Quiet Time
This month let stillness inspiration you.

I was lucky to receive the Whimsy Doodle Mushroom House from Tindaloo. I teamed it with the lovely wonky square frame that Hilde, the Tindaloo artist, gave us.. Just following the doodle lines and adding various shades of colour was very relaxing.

I made this Home Sweet Home card:

The image was coloured with Copic markers and white Posca pen highlights were added. I fussy cut a second image and adhered it over my coloured image with low tack tape. I then was able to stencil over the background using Distress Oxides inks. I cut the image and background to fit inside the black and white frame.

Many thanks to Tindaloo, this month's guest sponsor,

and to Scribbles Designs as the ongoing sponsor of the challenge

We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!

* Vera Lane Studio: Esmee in Paris

 Hello

Here is my second post for today.

It is my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and we have a new digi set released today. The lovely set is called 'Esmee in Paris' and consists of 8 digi elements.

I have used just 3 of the elements to create my journal page.

Isn't she sweet! She's making her way home, with her French bread, via the Arc de Triomphe.
I coloured the images with Copics and placed them on a background made by stamping with one of Janet's stencils (#95 Sunrise) and using Distress Oxide inks. I added yellow and white Posca paint pen splatters and outlined the sun. I also added some stamping using Janet's AALL & Create #338 Background Noise stamp set. I made a path of washi tape (#21 Beachrock by Janet, available from AALL & Create) for Esmee to stand upon.

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Gecko Galz: Ballerinas

 Hello

Today is my Gecko Galz DT day and I am sharing two cards with ballerinas, as this month the Gecko Galz Customer Challenge theme is Ballerina Girl.

I love these images I chose from the Tiny Dancer collage set. I teamed them with some papers from the Paper Roses

The green and peachy-pink colours are some of my favourites.

Some sequinned tulle was used as ribbon through the centre of this first card. I overlaid a piece of cheesecloth and popped the image on foam tape for dimension. I added some beautiful lace that was gifted to me by my crafting friend, Janet Stokes, and I made some flowers and die cut some leaves. The papers are distressed around the edges and kraft card was used as a mat. The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz sticker pad.

My second card has some gold mesh fabric beneath the image. A piece of pink organza ribbon was added along with a die cut scalloped border. I overlaid some ivory ribbon flower trim and added a tiny pearl to the centre of each one. Again I made some paper flowers and added a sprig of natural dried flowers which I dyed with Oxide inks.

Here are the Gecko Galz products I used for my cards:

Tiny Dancer                               Paper Roses ATC Set

I made an altered notebook for my September 1st project. You can find more details about that here

That's all for now!

* Vera Lane Studio: Chameleon

 Hello

I have a fun ATC to share featuring one of the Vera Lane Studio Chameleons.

Isn't this little guy cute! I love his sentiment, too!

I coloured him in one of my favourite colour combinations using Copic markers.  Blending these two colours was a bit of a challenge, but with the aide of pen-to-pen blending and using the blender pen, I think I'll just about get away with it. His background is Distress Oxides, stamped with one of Janet Klein's AALL & Create stencils #114 Art. I added some stamping using her #338 Background Noise stamp set and added some texture paste through Abs's #124 Lotza Diamonds stencil.

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Vera Lane Studio: Heart Trinket Box

 Hello

It's my Vera Lane Studio DT once again.

This week I decorated a little wooden heart trinket box using the third character from the Crush digi set which was released last week.. I love this little girl!

My image is coloured with Copics and fussy cut. The background is  brayered acrylic paints which have been stamped and heat embossed with Janet's Background Noise stamps from AALL & Create.. I added some gold paint along the edges of the top of the box and some gold splatters.

The sides of the box are simply covered with AALL & Create washi tape, which is perfectly forgiving as it moulds itself over the hinges of the lid at the back. The top flower washi is Janet's and the bottom black washi is Bipasha's Power Words.

Here are my trinket box and hanging ornament from last week. Both use the Crush digi set.

* Rainbow Blooms

Hello

Today I am sharing a double journal page from my large Dylusions journal.

It is not my original idea, but was an online workshop I took with artist and stamp designer Tracy Scott and it features her beautiful stamp set and stencil available through PaperArtsy..

The background paints are PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylic paints. The fussy cut blooms were coloured with watercolour brush pens - some are adhered directly, others are popped on foam.

You can find how to access this recorded workshop, called Rainbow Journal Page, on Tracy's Facebook Page: Tracy Scott: Creative Cafe by clicking on the Guides section.

Here are the products used:

* Path of Positivity: Meditate and Enjoy the Little Moments

Hello!

Today is the start of a new Path of Positivity challenge.
The challenge lasts for the month of  September.

This month the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of
Meditate/Quiet Time.

Bliss ...
So, this month we would like you to design a project that focuses on Meditation or Quiet Time
This month let stillness inspiration you.

I regularly practise yoga which always ends with 5 to 10 minutes relaxation and meditation. I absolutely love the classes and find the meditation to be truly beneficial - just clearing the mind of all the constant chatter is so calming and it helps me focus on what is important and what can wait.

I was lucky to receive the Doodle Flower from Tindaloo. I teamed it with the Bubbly Circle Frame. Doodling and colouring, especially repeated patterns like these, is for me a form of meditation and, if I do it long enough, I find that I go into a zen-like state. I get lost in the rhythm of doodling and experience a feeling of peace and relaxation.

I made this card:

I used Ecoline Pens to colour the images. I fussy cut around them and arranged the frame onto a background made by stamping with stencils and  Distress Oxides. I arrange the flower in a corner of the frame, leaving space to stamp the sentiment.
I added the circle frame to a kraft background and matted onto a piece of white card that I coloured green to match the frame.

Many thanks to Tindaloo, this month's guest sponsor,

and to Scribbles Designs as the ongoing sponsor of the challenge

We would love to see your creations!
