I am back to tell you about a new challenge we are running at the Gecko Galz blog.

 It is a challenge using vintage digital stamps. The stamp is free to collect on the blog here.

This month the image is a charming woman and this time the challenge is a technique one where you need to get out your tools and supplies and make a fun, springtime project . 

The winner will be randomly drawn and will win a Gecko Galz stamp set

I made a journal page with the image:

In this 4 x 6 inch journal I always make the page on card, then adhere it to the journal page.

I made my background by stamping and heat embossing in white. I gradually added colour by smooshing, dipping and dabbing the card into Distress Oxide puddles - I did the blues first at the top, then when this was dry, I worked on the greens. I added white paint splatters and inked around the edges with black archival ink.

I fussy cut the lady from her background and inked around the edges to get rid of any white card. She is adhered to the page and strips of torn washi tape ground her. I also added some torn washi around the edges for a little more definition.

I added a Small Talk sticker sentiment to finish off the page.

AALL & Create: Coffee Time

 Hello!

This time I am sharing Janet Klein's new Coffee Time stamp set, available from AALL & Create as part of the October 2020 release. 

Who doesn't love a good cup of coffee! Coffee Time is perfectly caffeinated with her wide eyes and perky stance. She is ideal for sending to coffee loving friends especially with a coffee gift voucher inside!

Isn't she adorable! I coloured her with Copic markers and finished off with Polychromo pencils. She was fussy cut and popped on foam pads ready to go on to the background.

The background was made by stamping with the #96 Dandelion Field stencil, using Distress Oxides in Fossilised Amber, Carved Pumpkin and Vintage Photo along with a spritz of water. I added a grungy border using black ink and #338 Background Noise stamps, as well as a wonky, hand drawn frame. The same set of Background Noise stamps was used to add Vintage Photo text stamping in the background.

#6 Washi Tape is proving to be my favourite - I chose the word "Shine" and tore all of the edges to use it to ground my girl.

AALL & Create: Road Trip

Hello!

Today I'm sharing some brand new stamps designed by Janet Klein and just release by AALL & Create.

This car is from the fabulous A6 stamp called #411 Road Trip. Any of Janet's little people, and indeed many of her animals, will fit into the car. I chose to use two of the heads from #412 Head Start - a stamp set featuring four girl heads with interchangeable hair accessories - think of the fun you could have with these!

I stamped out the images with black Momento ink and coloured them with Copic markers, then finished off with Polychromo pencils. The images were fussy cut and arranged together. 

The background was first heat embossed with #338 Background Noise using white WOW EP. Distress Oxide ink in Speckled Egg and Stormy Sky and a little Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint was directly applied to the background card and spritzed with water. AALL & Create #2 Inspire Washi Tape was applied to create the 'road' along with the word 'Journey' from #6 Washi Tape . Black #338 Background Noise stamping was applied around the edges and also in white Brilliance ink to add more texture to the sky.

I decided to add two sentiments from the set.

* AALL & Create: Iris

 Hello!

For my AALL & Create guest DT spot this week I have made 3 cards.

I used the beautiful #333 Iris stamp along with one of the new hexagon stamps, #383 Scripted Hexagons, and the #112 Heapza Hexagons stencil and, of course,  some little peeps from stamps #354 and #360.

Here is my process:

1.  I sprayed Distress Oxide (Antique Linen and Speckled Egg) inks through the #112 Heapza Hexagonal stencil.

2. I used the back of the stencil to stamp the surplus ink on a second piece of card.

3. Stamping with #383 Scripted Hexagons in Scattered Straw and Speckled Egg.

4. Stamp the #333 Iris stamp in black (Nocturn).
5. Stamp the #333 Iris words in grey (Morning Mist) to create borders.
6. Smoosh Distress Oxides onto spare card and stamp iris flower heads and hexagons.

7. Trace some of the hexagons from Heapza Hexagons onto card and cut out.

8. Fussy cut the irises and hexagons.

9. Stamp little peeps from #354 and #360, colour with Copics and pencils and fussy cut.

The parts were assembled, the little people were grounded by some of the new AALL & Create washi tape - I chose #6 which has a selection of bold, inspiring words. The cards were matted onto black card and then onto blank white cards.

I love the way the washi tape blends so easily into the background.

 This one uses the reverse of the inked stencil stamp the background, so no ink goes to waste.

I was going to throw this background away as I moved the block slightly when stamping the iris image and the writing is blurred. However, I carried on and by the time the little girl and her rabbit were adhered, it didn't look too bad.
