* Vera Lane Studio: Pancakes and Pizza

Hello

It's my DT Day at Vera Lane Studio and I am sharing two Polaroids, both featuring food. Tomorrow is Pancake Day, Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras - the day before the start of Lent, so Pancake Day is one of my choices, and Pizza My Heart is my second choice.

Here is Pancake Day:

Don't they look delicious! Golden Maple Syrup too ... mmm.
The images are coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut. The background is Distress Oxides stamped with an AALL & Creates stencil, Lotza Dots. Some stamping was added and torn washi tape for grounding.

And here is Pizza My Heart:

This little pizza chef is ready to share her pizza with her pooch, Copic colouring and Distress Oxide Stencil stamped background with stamping and paint splatters.

* Gecko Galz: Lovely Ladies

Hello

Welcome to IVETTE SEGARRA-STEELE, my new follower. I am delighted you have shown an interest in my blog.

This month I was was lucky to win a one-of-a-kind digital kit, made especially for me, by the owner of Gecko Galz

I had a little play today and made some ATCs.

This first set is my favourite:

I love the colours and patterns in the background papers and the digital stamps are fabulous. They look striking in black and white against the colourful backdrop. I added some die cut and inked flowers and some small, round glitter stickers. The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz sticker set.

The second set are more delicate in colour:

I added a little extra colour to these background papers by blending Distress Oxides around the edges and in the white areas. Again, I left the stamps in black and white, adding die cut flowers and glitter gems. Some silver border stickers were placed around the edges of the ATCs.

TioT GDT: Make A Wish

 Hello

I am delighted to be GDT today at Try It On Tuesday

The theme at TioT this time is Texture and I made my card with heaps of texture derived from layering die cuts and smooshing inks.

The background is a lacy die-cut (Intricate Lace 664181 Sizzix), smooshed in Antique Linen ink and laid over the top of card which was smooshed, dipped and dabbed in Victorian Velvet ink.

The flowers are layering dies (Brushstroke Flowers #1 665209 Sizzix) which I cut from white card then coloured with inks in various shades of light yellow and pink, I inked the edges of the pieces with Vintage Photo ink and added white paint splatters once they were assembled.

I also added some beautiful pink velvet ribbon trim and placed some sisal fibres beneath the flowers. The flowers are popped on foam tape to lift them from the card and only the centre is adhered so that I could curl and shape the petals to give a more natural look.

Here are some of the products I used:

Thank you to Jo at TioT for inviting me to be GDT.

That's all for now.

Thanks for stopping by today!

* Path of Positivity: Dashing Crow

Hello

Welcome to the February Midway post for the Path of Positivity Challenge.

This month we are designing a project that focuses on celebrating something special about a family member.

My husband is a clever and talented man, but I don't say that to his face too often :) He loves to read, watch documentaries and acquire new knowledge all the time.  One of his favourite subjects is the solar system and that reminded me of the background stamp, #398 Celestial Navigation from AALL & Create, that I used for my birthday card.

I made a galaxy background from Distress Oxides. I splattered water droplets to bleach out some colour, then heat embossed the Celestial Navigation stamp in white. White Posca pen paint was splattered over the background. The Steampunk Dashing Crow, also from AALL & Create, seemed a fitting masculine image to be the focal point of my birthday card. I stamped him onto white card, fussy cut him then popped him on foam tape for dimension. I stamped the Happy Birthday greeting and matted it onto black card and placed it at the base of the Crow.

Here are the products I used:

We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!

* Vera Lane Studio: Wanderlust

 Hello

It's my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and today we have a new digi set release called Wanderlust. It has a sweet little traveller, on one digi she has her camera and on the second digi she has a map. There are also two iconic landmarks and two sentiments.

Here is my project.

I made two ATCs. My images are coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut - I will admit that some of these images are a little tricky to fussy cut up to the line and, in future, I may be tempted to leave a small white border around them. The background is an inked stencil (Janet's AALL & Create # Art stencil) used to stamp colour onto the card. I added some tone on tone stamping with one of Janet's Background Noise stamps and some black stamping around the edges. Bipasha's #24 Power Words washi tape, also from AALL & Create, acts as grounding whilst adding words that I associate with travelling.

Here is the traveller in Egypt:

And here she is in India:

She has me looking at the world map again wondering where I should go next when the right time arrives ....

That's all for now.
I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Gecko Galz: Musical Muses and Sweet Valentines

Hello

It's February, the month of Love, and at Gecko Galz our new customer challenge is
Silly Love Songs.
We also have the monthly Image Challenge and the monthly Christmas Image Challenge, as well as 4 Facebook challenges.
We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

The winner of the Customer challenge will get a $25 Gecko Galz Etsy Store voucher and the runner up a $12 voucher. There are plenty of free Gecko Galz images if you don't already own any. Each blog post has a free image to collect and, if you sign up for the monthly newsletter, there is the chance to claim a free collage set each month.  Also if you make any purchase of $2 or more you receive a free image.

For my DT day, I made a card, a journal page and some ATCs.

I made a sweet, mixed media Valentine card using an image from the Lovely Little Valentine collage set. I fussy cut the image and inked around the edges in black ink. The background was made with PaperArtsy Infusions and Brushos. I added some stamping and some paint splatters and heat embossed gold leaves around the top and side edges. Some torn book text acts as grounding for the cute couple who were popped on foam tape for dimension. I die cut the letters to make the sentiment - once in gold and again in black to add a drop shadow.

Lovely Little Valentines

Next, I made an A6 journal page:

I stamped and heat embossed the rose background, then blended Distress Oxides over the top and added some music note stamping.
The images were fussy cut from two collage sheets, Musical Muses and Lovely Vignettes. I added a gold paper border die and chose a snarky sentiment sticker as my sentiment.

Then I made a couple of ATCs:

I fussy cut the images from Musical Muses and added them to ATCs made from manuscript paper. I added grit paste through a mandala stencil and coloured with Hickory Smoke and touches of Brushos. Small Talk sticker sentiments were added and the ATCs were mounted onto black card.

My projects for the Silly Love Songs customer challenge inspiration are below and you can read about them here:

* Happy Everything

Hello

Today I have a couple of cards that I made after watching a video by Tracy Scott. She made this card as part of World Card Making Day 2021. I used Tracy's stamp and stencil from PaperArtsy.

The backgrounds are blended Distress Oxide inks through Tracy's stencil #PS253 . The flowers from set #TS058 were stamped onto painted card and fussy cut. They are popped on foam tape to give some dimension. Paint was splattered over the flowers and background and a sentiment (from Tracy Evans' AALL & Create Eclectic Stems stamp set #199) was stamped and cut into strips for the sentiment. White and black mats were added and then all was adhered to a white card base.

That's all for now.

• Gecko Galz: Love Songs Journal Page

Hello

Let me welcome Beverly Jordon, my new follower. Thank you Beverly for showing interest in my blog.

I made an A5 journal page:

I am pretty new to making journal pages with collage elements. Here I made a mixed media background with Pixie Powders. I stencilled over this with Gesso and a Heart stencil, then added stamping mainly around the edges. Lots of gold and white paint splatters were added, the stencilled hearts were outlined with gold pen and i also added a hand drawn border. I matted the images from Retro Love Stories onto white card and adhered them along with some white, swirly heart die cuts. The sentiments are from a fabulous stamp set called Music Makers Sentiments.
