* AALL & Create: Hare

 Hello

Today I am sharing a GDT project for AALL & Create.

I made a large card featuring the beautiful Hare designed by Tracy Evans and he's jumping through a wreath of gorgeous vellum flowers all designed by Bipasha.

The hare was stamped with Versafine Clair Morning Mist and fussy cut. He's popped on foam and adhered so that he looks as if he is jumping through the circle.

The background was stamped with a stencil that had been covered in Distress Oxides and spritzed with water.

A circle of vellum was die cut along with a black circle border. This was adhered to the centre of the background. The hare was popped on foam tape for some dimension. The lovely heat embossed, vellum flowers were arranged around it.

I added white and gold paint splatters along with some random numbers and part of a die cut.

Step by Step

1. The background is made from stamping oxides with Stencil #96 Dandelion Field.

2. I stamped some flowers and foliage from stamp sets ##269 Flourish and #324 Blooming Beauty) using Versamark and white embossing powders on vellum. These were fussy cut.

3. The hare (#369) was stamped in grey ink and fussy cut.

4. The vellum and black circle outline were adhered to the background. The hare was popped on foam tape. The flowers were arranged around the circle. Paint splatters were applied.

5. I made some embellishments: # 14 Cells die was cut in black card and cut into sections. Stamp #350 Splattered Numbers was heat embossed in white onto black card and some numbers cut out. The die cut and numbers were adhered.

* AALL & Create: Breezy Birthday

 Hello

I have a Breezy birthday card to show today using stamps, stencils and washi tape from the fabulous AALL & Create.

I started by making a gelli print background using PaperArtsy chalk acrylic paints and the #87 Totally Dotty stencil.
I stamped the lighthouse from Bipasha's #442 Sea Essentials stamp set directly onto the background and added some grit texture paste to the bottom section through the beautiful #86 Twirling Tendrils stencil. I thought the tendrils looks like crashing sea waves.

The lighthouse was stamped onto card and fussy cut to lay over the one stamped onto the background - this way the little details surrounding the lighthouse are still in place.
I stamped the flowers from the lighthouse a third time, so that I could colour, fussy cut and shape them to add dimension to the card.
I coloured one of Janet Klein's #463 The Gentlemen. This one reminds me of Captain Birdseye with his heavy, cable, roll neck sweater. I thought he was perfect for the seascape.

I stamped letters from Tracy's #456 Snippet Alphabet to spell out 'Breezy' and the Birthday Wishes come from Tracy's #451 In The Bucket set.
I added some background stamping using # 469 Scripted Semicircles and some border stamping in black using #487 Reverse Semicircles.
To finish, I added some torn strips of #21 Beachrock washi tape.

* AALL & Create: Sew Happy

Hello

It's my GDT day at AALL & Create and I have a mixed media page to share.
This week I enjoyed revisiting some older stamps for my background. One of my favourite things to do is to combine AALL & Create stamps from different designers. I had great fun making this sewing themed page.

I love how the background colours turned out. I wasn't happy with my initial colour choices (Fossilised Amber and Picked Raspberry), so I added some Frayed Burlap and then inked over in Peacock Feathers. It made a beautiful grungy background and the white embossing pops against this dark colour..

I added water to the Lotza Diamonds stencil and held it over the background. The bleached out diamonds are subtle, but add a lot of texture.

The machine stitching adds more texture and fits the sewing theme. I really like the two contrasting fonts and the vintage style background with the cute, and quirky Material Girl.

The background has an air of luminosity.

How it came together:
1. I heat embossed parts of the stamps from Sewing Forever and Heartfelt into a collage and heat embossed in white.
2. I smooshed the card into various Distress Oxides.
3. I blended Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide over the colours.

4. I spritzed the stencil with water and held it over the inks to bleach out some of the colour.

5. I stitched around the edges of the background and added Reverse Diamonds in black along the edge of the background.
6. The words 'Weird and Wonderful' from the Sewing Forever stamp set were stamped in black, cut out, inked around the edges and adhered over the background.

7. I decided to mat the piece onto a second piece of card, so I inked the edges and bleached out some colour with the Diamond stencil.
8. I machine stitched around the edges.

9. I stamped images in Memento ink so that I could colour with Copic markers.
In the end I didn't use the cotton bobbin.

Products Used:
#304 Heartfelt
#396 Sewing Forever
#382 Material Girl
#484 Reverse Diamonds
Stencil #124 Lotza Diamonds

* AALL & Create: Smile Minibook

Hello

For my GDT post for AALL & Create this week, I made a mini book incorporating some of the things that make me smile. I have had a really tough week and a half and so in my little book, I acknowledge that we have our sad days, but that the memory of these days fade with time.

Here is the front cover featuring Caterday:

And this is the back cover with The Gardener:

Lil Love and Coffee Time make the first inside pages:

And Choose Happy and Curly Girl take up the second inside pages:

The background was made by heat embossing 4 x 4 inch card with the two sets of hexagon stamps. I then smooshed the card through puddles of Distress Oxide with water.

Next I added some tone on tone stamping to each piece of card using the Versafine Verdant ink.Black stamping using the same hexagon stamps was added around the edges of each card.
To finish the backgrounds, I added white paint splatters with a fan brush and inked along the edges in black with a blending brush. I did end up adding more black stamping to the edges for better definition.

The images were coloured using Copic markers. Each was fussy cut and grounded on a piece of #6 Crafty Washi tape with bold inspirational words in white on black. The sentiments from each set were stamped and cut into strips and I also added words from Heart Grunge, Happy Dog and Hexagonal Tiles.

Stamps Used (In numeric order):
#208 Hexagonal Tiles
#374 Reverse Hexagons
#383 Scripted Hexagons
#17 Coffee Time
#424 The Gardener
#453 Heat Grunge
#477 Saturday
#478 Choose Happy
#480 Curly Girl
#481 Lil Love
#483 Happy Dog
#Washi #6

* AALL & Create: Choose to Shine

Hello!

For this week's Guest DT project for AALL & Create I made a card. I used products from four designers and made a simple watercolour background with Copic coloured focal images.

Bunny and Bunnies, #354, is one of my favourite Janet Klein stamp sets. I think she goes perfectly with Tracy's hollyhock flowers, from the #451 In The Bucket set, as her backdrop.

The beautiful sentiment 'seek the road to happiness' is from Bipasha's set #457 Background Voices and the tiny diamonds are Autour de Mwa's #484 Reverse Diamonds.

How it came together:

1. Firstly I masked along the edges of a piece of 4.5 by 6.5 inch watercolour card.

2. I stamped the Lotza Diamonds stencil with Distress Oxides, then stamped the two hollyhock flowers in grey Versafine Claire. I stamped the 'find the road to happiness' sentiment from Background Voices and some Reverse Diamonds in black along the edges of the panel.

3. I used a water brush to bleach out a little of the colour from the leaves of the flower. I then used Oxides to colour the hollyhock. I added some white and yellow Posca paint pen dots to the flower centres.

4. White splatters were added over the background.

5. I stamped Bunny & Bunnies in Memento ink so that I could use alcohol markers to colour them.

6. I coloured with Copics and fussy cut, then popped Bunny and one of her bunnies on foam tape.

7. I doodled a border around the panel and added some inky splashes in two diagonal corners.

8. I stamped one of the sentiments from set #451 onto black card and heat embossed in white. This was trimmed and added to the card on foam tape.

9. I matted the card onto black card and adhered to a 5 x 7 inch card blank.

Stamps Used:
#354 Bunny & Bunnies
#451 In the Bucket
#457 Background Voices
#484 Reverse Diamonds
Stencil: #124 Lotza Diamonds
