Here is what I made as inspiration for the Customer Challenge..

It's a mini book with scalloped edges and an accordion spine, decorated with Art Deco papers in black, navy and gold.

Here are the pages:

The left side of each page has gold paper embossed with a folder and quotes from the film 'Great Gatsby'. The right hand side has an image from the Gatsby Girl collage set. On the first page I used craft dyed feathers and sequins for embellishments.

This page has gold and copper stickers and sequins for embellishment.

Gold corner stickers were applied to this lovely image and thin copper lines applied around the sentiment block.

More feathers and sequins ....

The closure is gold elastic which holds on the pearl brad.
Each photo is matted onto gold card.
The front and back cover has sequin trim.

Here is what I made as inspiration for the Customer Challenge..
It's a tri-fold shutter mini book, decorated on both sides with beautiful images.

I made it from black card and used images from the new Stay Wild Moon Child collage set and the Moonbeams Card Toppers set.

Here is the front and the back of the booklet:

The images are all matted onto gold paper. The title was typed and printed.

This is the front opened up:

* Gecko Galz: Dragon's Roar

Hello

Every month over at the Gecko Galz blog we have the monthly free image challenges, as well as the main blog challenge, posted on the first day of each month..

There is a monthly card challengethe monthly Christmas Image challenge, the Fantasy challenge, the monthly ATC challenge,  a Gothic Challenge and Steampunk challenge. These can be accessed by the tabs at the top of the main blog page and you are able to download the FREE image there.

We also have the quarterly challenge. and 4 Facebook challenges.

Today is a rainy day, so I thought I'd have a go with this month's free Fantasy image challenge which is a gorgeous dragon. I decided to make my project interactive :)

Here is what I made:

I had some left over painted card from a previous project (the 'Ocean Life' shaker booklet) which was in colours suitable for the dragon background, so I used those. I die cut a 3 3/4 inch circle upon which I mounted the dragon. I used a piece of brayered, painted card for the background and added the alpha stickers to spell 'roar' as well as some sparkly, light purple gemstones..

The dragon was fussy cut from it's background and inked around the edges. I made a cut along his jaw line and adhered the two parts to a clothes peg. I tried to camouflage the peg by colouring with Copics, his mouth being coloured in red, and the ends of the peg above his head in mauve..

Here he is roaring:

And finally here's a short video to show how he roars:

We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

Conjurer of Dreams: Winged Beauties

 Hello

Today I'm sharing some projects I made using Conjurer of Dreams images. I hope you'll pop over to the store and take a look at the Digital Art on sale for collage, scrapbooks, journals, cards and more.

The theme this month in the Facebook Group is Winged Beauty?.

Here is what I made:

This card features a humming bird from the Winged Beauty 2 set.

A white die cut card is placed on top of a Distress Oxide coloured piece of card which was also splattered with white paint. Some die cut leaves and flowers were made in complementary colours and the humming bird was fussy cut and popped on foam tape for dimension. Glitter was added to the bird image and the flowers.

These Flapper Girls with Wings are gorgeous in lovely sepia tones.
I selected some fancy dies, and some neutral papers and card to make a couple of cards.

This one uses Tim Holtz paper in the background matted upon gold card. The die cuts the image and the frame, so I had to make sure I printed the image at the right size.. I distressed the edges of the design paper with scissors and added a velvet ribbon and a knot bow to finish it off.
***

I used a Sizzix die to cut some pearly cream card and matted it onto bronze coloured paper. The image was cut and the edges distressed and matted first upon bronze paper, then on the pearly card. A lace flower was popped in the bottom corner as a simple embellishment.

These next cards feature the beautiful, watercolour Birds on a Branch.

I used a scalloped stitched die to cut the image and cut a larger frame from card coloured with Oxide inks splattered with water. I used a Lavinia stencil to add ink to opposite corners of the background, using two shades of each colour to add a little depth. I added some ink oxide splatters and inked around the edges of the background.

My last card features the butterfly from the Winged Beauty set.

I used simple matting and layering with the help of some dies, white card and navy blue card to create this one.

And finally, some digital collages:
