* Vera Lane Studio: Life Happens Notepad

Hello!

Happy Monday!

I have a second project for Vera Lane Studio today. It is a little notebook cover:

Covering notebooks is one of my favourite projects to do. The completed project makes a lovely little gift.
I bought this kraft covered notepad and pen set on a city break in Glasgow, where I found a lovely little shop, selling all sorts of bits and bobs, called Flying Tiger. I decided not to cover the front of the notepad, as I love the kraft and black look, but I added some hessian ribbon.
The image is from Girls on the Block. I coloured her with Copic markers and added some glitter to her hair and eyelids and some white highlights. She is glued on top of the trim.
The sentiment, from the Top of My Head Collage Sheet, was split into two sections, inked around the edges and adhered to the notepad front.

* Colour Crazy Challenge: Coffee Love

Hello!

Today sees the start of a new colouring challenge at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog. The challenge is always Anything Goes, but of course your card must feature some colouring: use any medium you wish. This week Little Blue Button Stamps is the sponsor.

I was lucky to receive a digi stamp to work with and I chose Coffee Love. Here is my card:

I coloured the digi with Copic markers and added some white Posca pen highlights. I fussy cut her leaving a thin white border so that she would stand out from the background. The background was made with Distress Oxides. I blended Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Scattered Straw, Fossilised Amber and finally Spiced Pumpkin onto smooth card. Once I was happy with the blend I sprinkled some water droplets to beach out some of the colour. I then stencilled over parts of the background to give a little more texture.

I matted my background onto kraft card and then orange card, inking all edges with Vintage Photo. I added a strip of the background card as a banner along the bottom and adhered some hessian trim. The Coffee Girl is popped on foam pads for dimension and the sentiment, from Vera Lane Studio, was printed, die cut and attached to a tag along with the coffee cup from the Coffee Love digi set. Finally I added three large, flat backed, coffee coloured pearls.

Many thanks to Little Blue Button Stamps for sponsoring this challenge.

I hope you'll find time to share your projects at the Colour Crazy Challenge
We'd love to see what you make!

That's all from me for today!

Hello!

For my second post today I'd like to share a coffee themed ATC that I made for the Vera Lane Studio ATC swap. The ATC theme this month is Coffee or Tea and you can play along in our Facebook group.

I used Coffee Girl and the coffee shop from Tall Town as my images. I coloured them with Copic markers, added some Glossy Accents to the shop windows and some Stickles Diamond glitter to the girl's eyelids.
The background of the ATC is made with blended Distress Oxides (Vintage Photo, Spiced Pumpkin and Mustard Seed). I added some stamping in Versamark ink along the edges and heat embossed in bronze.
Once the images were fussy cut, the coffee shop was glued directly onto the background and the girl was popped on foam pads. The sentiment was inked and added at an angle.

Hello!

Monday again already, and so it's my day to share my DT make for Vera Lane Studio.

Last week saw the release of Cocoa and Latte, a whimsical, adorable couple of fairies for all the cocoa and coffee lovers!
I used Cocoa to make my card:

The image is coloured with Copic markers. I added Diamond Stickles to her wings and to the flower around her eye. White Posca pen highlights were made and the image was fussy cut. It is popped on foam pads onto the background.
The background was made by blending Distress Oxides (Vintage Photo and Broken China) and spritzing with water to beach out some of the colour. I added modelling paste through a stencil and love how it picked up the coffee colour! I also added just a little text stamping along the side edges.
I added some twine trim and a double bow, placing a flower at the bow's knot. Finally, I cut one of the sentiments into strips, inked the edges and glued it directly onto the background.

Isn't she cute!

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane.
It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Vera Lane Studio: Barista

Hello!

At Vera Lane Studio we have a new release. It's the lovely Barista, part of the Arthur Avenue collection, and this digi set comes with a pre-coloured collage image, a black & white digi stamp and two sentiments.

I used the pre-coloured image for my cards:

I cut out the Barista and ran a black marker around the edge to cover up any white card. I added some Glossy Accents to her coffee cup and to her eyes. I decided to team her up with a coffee shop and chose these buildings from the City Girl set. I coloured them with Copics and added some white Posca pen highlights and some Glossy Accents to the windows.
The background is a gelli print. I inked the edges with Black Soot Distress Oxide and lightly stamped some dots along the edges with the same ink. Some black and white paint spatters were added. I chose two types of washi tape to ground my elements, then glued the buildings directly onto the background. The Barista was popped on foam pads for some dimension. I chose the 'Let's Coffee' sentiment, cut it into strips and glued it directly onto the background.

My second card also features the Barista with a coffee shop, but this time the buildings are from Tall Town

This was a quick and easy card to make. The buildings were arranged together and printed. The Barista was printed separately. I fussy cut around the buildings and glued them directly onto a card blank. The Barista was popped on foam pads so that she stands away from the buildings and the sentiment was glued directly onto the card.
I prefer to have some dimension on my cards, otherwise this could have been even quicker and easier to make, by arranging the digis, including the sentiments, how you like them and printing them out out. This would give a one layer card.

That's all from me for today.

* Vera Lane Studio: Coffee Love

Hello!

Do you love coffee?  Do you love cake?
I certainly do!!!

Here's a card I made for a friend's birthday using Vera Lane Studio digi stamps. I added a Costa Gift Voucher for a coffee and cake treat:

I used the lovely Coffee Love (not currently in the shop, but available from Janet on request) and Cake Sketches. The images are coloured with Copics, fussy cut and Glossy Accents strategically added!  I used kraft card for the background, using a scalloped square die and inked the edges with Vintage Photo ink. The sentiment comes with the Coffee Mugs digi set.

Here is a different version with a gelli print background:
