* Vera Lane Studio: Barista

Hello!

At Vera Lane Studio we have a new release. It's the lovely Barista, part of the Arthur Avenue collection, and this digi set comes with a pre-coloured collage image, a black & white digi stamp and two sentiments.

I used the pre-coloured image for my cards:

I cut out the Barista and ran a black marker around the edge to cover up any white card. I added some Glossy Accents to her coffee cup and to her eyes. I decided to team her up with a coffee shop and chose these buildings from the City Girl set. I coloured them with Copics and added some white Posca pen highlights and some Glossy Accents to the windows.
The background is a gelli print. I inked the edges with Black Soot Distress Oxide and lightly stamped some dots along the edges with the same ink. Some black and white paint spatters were added. I chose two types of washi tape to ground my elements, then glued the buildings directly onto the background. The Barista was popped on foam pads for some dimension. I chose the 'Let's Coffee' sentiment, cut it into strips and glued it directly onto the background.

My second card also features the Barista with a coffee shop, but this time the buildings are from Tall Town

This was a quick and easy card to make. The buildings were arranged together and printed. The Barista was printed separately. I fussy cut around the buildings and glued them directly onto a card blank. The Barista was popped on foam pads so that she stands away from the buildings and the sentiment was glued directly onto the card.
I prefer to have some dimension on my cards, otherwise this could have been even quicker and easier to make, by arranging the digis, including the sentiments, how you like them and printing them out out. This would give a one layer card.

* Vera Lane Studio: Cloud 9

Hello!

At Vera Lane Studio we have a new release. It's the lovely Cloud 9 and this digi set comes with a pre-coloured collage image, a black & white digi stamp and two sentiments.

I used the pre-coloured image for my card:

I sized the image, printed it out and fussy cut it and it was ready to go - super quick and easy! I decided to add some blue to her eyes and a little pink to her lips. My background is made from acrylic paints with some stencilling in the centre and some text stamping along the edges. Black and white paint spatters were added and the edges inked in black.
I made a cloud out of marabou feathers - how lovely that she's floating in the sky! The sentiment was cut into strips and outlined with a black fine liner.

That's all from me for today.
I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane.

* Vera Lane Studio: Fisherwoman

Hello!

Last week at Vera Lane Studio we had a new release - the cute and quirky Fisherwoman and this digi set comes with a pre-coloured collage image, two black & white digi stamps and two sentiments.

I used the pre-coloured image for my card:

The Fisherwoman was sized and printed out several times and then fussy cut. I only needed one Fisherwoman, but wanted the fish from the other images. I gave the Fisherwoman brown eyes and added Glossy Accents to the fish to make them shine.
The background was inked with Distress Oxides in Vintage Photo, Brick Red and Mustard Seed. Stamping was added with oxides around the edges with a flourish stamp and in the centre with some dots. Black paint splatters were flicked on with a fan brush and the edges stamped with a grunge background stamp in black ink.
I added some texture trim and hessian trim to ground the images and attached the Fisherwoman and her fishy catch on foam dots to pop them off the card. The sentiment was cut into strips, adhered and outlined in black.

* Vera Lane Studio: Painter's Palette

Hello!

Today at Vera Lane Studio there is a new release. It is part of the Arthur Avenue series and is called Painter's Palette. Not only do you get two digital stamp to colour, but you also get a pre-coloured digital collage version and two sentiments.

Here is what I made:

I used the pre-coloured version - super quick and easy to print, fussy cut and arrange on a card, tag or journal page. I decided to make a distressed oxide background to which I added some stamping and inked the edges. I placed Painter's Palette on foam pads and grounded her with washi tape strips. I also added collage elements (apartments, cloud and sunshine) from Fun College Sheet 3.

Vera Lane Studio: Roller Girl

Hello!

Today we have two new Arthur Avenue releases at Vera Lane Studio, one digi set which I've used below and one collage set called Little Houses.

I've made a card with Roller Girl.

I just love the whimsical feel of this set! I teamed Roller Girl with one of the borders from the Heads and Borders set.
All the images were coloured with Copics, then fussy cut. I always go around the edges of the cut images with black marker pen, so that no white is showing.  The background is a gelli print. I applied pink, orange and blue paint lightly with a brayer. I added some stamping in similar colours and some black and white paint splatters.
The images are glued directly onto the gelli print. The sentiment was cut into strips, the edges inked and a hand drawn border finishes it off.

* Vera Lane Studio: Polka Dot Fairy

Hello!

I have a card made with the new Arthur Avenue digi sets from Vera Lane Studio today.

Meet Polka Dot Fairy - she's such a fun, quirky character!

The images are coloured with Copics, then fussy cut.  I borrowed the sun and the word "Fly" from the Buzz Fairy set. I placed her on a gelli print background made from brayering paint and then added some stamping, paint splatters and a stamped border.
