Vera Lane Studio: Taurus Tag

 Hello

It's my DT day at Vera Lane Studio today and I have a tag featuring the fourth zodiac sign, Taurus.

Isn't she a cutie clinging to her little toy bull.
I coloured her with Copic markers and made the tag by smooshing it in Distress Oxide puddles. I heat embossed the beautiful #60 Lacy Graffiti stamp from AALL & Create in white, added some extra stars from other AALL & Create background stamps (#468 and #485). The edges of the tag were inked in Fired Brick and Black archival ink and I also added some white splatters.
I popped little Taurus on foam pads on top of some torn washi tape to ground her. I threaded some ric-rac ribbon through the top of the tag.

That's all for now.
I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Gecko Galz: Garden Children & Fairies

Hello

Today is my DT Feature day at Gecko Galz and I have a couple of projects to share.
At the Gecko Galz blog our customer challenge theme is Garden Child.

We also have the monthly Image Challenge and the monthly Christmas Image Challenge, as well as 4 Facebook challenges.
We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

The winner of the Customer challenge will get a $25 Gecko Galz Etsy Store voucher and the runner up a $12 voucher. There are plenty of free Gecko Galz images if you don't already own any. Each blog post has a free image to collect and, if you sign up for the monthly newsletter, there is the chance to claim a free collage set each month.  Also if you make any purchase of $2 or more you receive a free image.

First, I made a slimline card and coloured one of the many vintage digital stamps we have in store.

The stamp is from the Spring Gems set and I coloured it with Copic markers, adding some gel pen accents here and there. I trimmed it, matted it onto black card and mounted it on a resized ATC from the Blooming Waters set. I added some ribbon and a bow.

Blooming Water            Spring Gems

My next project also uses the Blooming Water ATC set (enlarged) for backgrounds:

The floral borders from the Dream Garden ATC set were fussy cut, inked around the edges, and popped on foam tape for dimension, over the Blooming Water images.

I fussy cut some Pixie Children, added Wink of Stella to their wings and tucked them down behind the flower border.

Each was matted onto white card and again onto black card before being adhered to the card base.

The sentiments are Tim Holtz 'Small Talk' stickers.

My customer Inspiration project was a shadow box secret garden.
You can see more photos and read about it here.

That's all for now!
I hope you'll join our Garden Child Challenge where the winner will get a $25 shopping spree at the Gecko Galz shop.

The only rule is that you must use at least one Gecko Galz product (this can be one of the freebies or, of course, you can buy at the Etsy store!) Also if you sign up for the Gecko Galz newsletter, you'll be able to claim a free collage sheet each month and get first claim on the monthly $1 deals!

* Path of Positivity: Bunnies

 Hello

Welcome to the April Path of Positivity Challenge.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme.

This month's option is to design a project that focuses on celebrating something special about our pets (or animals in general).

Honours and Prizes include:
  • $6 worth of images from Scribbles Designs, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • A badge for the following honours: Top PickVoter's ChoiceMost InspirationalRandom WinnerDT Delight.
For my midway project I'm remembering the bunnies that I had as a child. Bunnies are adorable - their lovely soft fur, big eyes and pink twitching noses melt my heart. We kept our bunnies outside in a large hutch which my dad made.  He also made them a 'run' so they could have more space whilst staying safe.

I used a Lawn Fawn die to cut the rectangles and masked off the edges so that I could ink the panels.
For the top panels, I inked a stencil with Distress Oxides, spritzed it with water, then used it as a stamp. I added some foliage and a daisy die cut which I coloured with inks, and a strip of grass along the base. The Sizzix 'Bunny Hop' die was cut 3 times and stacked together, I inked the edges and gave him a pom-pom bunny tail.
The second panel was inked with Fossilised Amber and splattered with water.
The background is another stencil (Lotza Dotz from AALL & Create) inked with Oxides, spritzed and stamped.

I love how joyous these bunnies are, leaping and dancing their way through the meadow.

We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!

That's all for today!
Many thanks to Scribbles Designs for sponsoring the challenge.

I'll be back with a another Path of Positivity project in a couple of weeks time.

Thanks for stopping by today!

* Vera Lane Studio: Ground Music

Hello

Happy Easter Monday!

Today at Vera Lane Studio we have a new digi set called Ground Music. There are 2 lovely girls, some flowers, music notes and two sentiments in the bundle.

I made a friendship card:

I coloured the images with Copic markers and fussy cut them. The background was made bu inking a stencil with various spring coloured Distress oxides, spritzing with water and stamping onto white card. I the added some extra oxide inks using a piece of an acetate sheet which helped me control where the colour went. I added lots of background stamping tone on tone colours using  Janet's AALL & Create stamp set, Background Noise. I added some black stamping using X or O around the edges and finished with a doodle border.
Janet's washi tape grounds my character and the sentiment was cut into strips and outlined with a black fine liner.

That's all for now.
I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Vera Lane Studio: Tweet and Bunnyboy

Hello

Welcome to the Easter Weekend.

These adorable little Vera Lane Studio characters are Tweet & Bunnyboy wearing their Easter bonnets!

I made a pair of ATCs. The background is brayered paint with some AALL & Create stamping, heat embossing and paint splatters. I added a die cut lacy border for my characters to stand upon.
The characters are coloured with Copic markers. The sentiment were cut into strips and adhered.

Here's a close up of Bunny:

And here is Tweet:

Gecko Galz: Roses

Hello

I made a couple of Anniversary cards using two of the fifty images in the Gecko Galz April Monthly Kit. The April kit is called Spring Blossoms.

I love these beautiful, vintage floral images.

Both cards were made using the same layered design and the edges of the image and papers were distressed.
I made the backgrounds by inking white card with Distress ink in Victorian Velvet and adding tone on tone script stamping.

Foam tape was used to give some dimension to the top layers and mats.

I used sentiment stickers matted onto inked card and popped on foam tape.

That's all for now!
I hope you'll join our Garden Child Challenge where the winner will get a $25 shopping spree at the Gecko Galz shop.
