Vera Lane Studio: Moose Hunt

 Hello

For my DT project at Vera Lane Studio today I have a journal page using the Moose Hunt digi set which was released a while back.

I used a brayered paint background, adding white embossing and some stamping. The images are coloured with Copics and fussy cut. Lots of white acrylic ink splatters were added as falling snow and Janet's Wishy Washi tape grounds my little scene.

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Santa Gift Bag

Hello.

At Lost Cost Portal to Creativity this week, the challenge is 'It's A Wrap' and with this in mind, I made a decorated gift bag using Gnome Santa in Chimney, a stamp I won in one of the recent challenges.

I made the panel for the gift bag and coloured and stamped some tissue paper to fit inside.

I stamped the Santa in Memento ink and coloured him using Copic markers. He was fussy cut with a thin white border and popped onto a stencil-stamped background which has some die-cut snow banks adhered.  I used white acrylic ink to add splatter as snow and die cut a banner for the sentiment.
I made a starry stamped background to mount the panel upon, using the Reverse Stars stamp from AALL & Create and a combination of Distress Oxides spritzed with water.

I made some matching tissue paper. I took some plain tissue paper and dabbed it into puddles of Distress Oxides and dried it thoroughly so that it could be stamped with the Santa in Chimney stamp. Whilst I had Oxides on my mat, I added some seam binding and made a pretty ribbon as well.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Vera Lane Studio: Star Light

 Hello

For my Vera Lane Studio project this week I made a journal page featuring Star Light who was released a few weeks ago.

I coloured her with Copic markers and fussy cut her out along with the starts. I made the background by applying Distress Oxides to a stencil, spritzing with water and stamping it onto card. I added some extra water to create a blurry effect and to spread the colour a little more. Stamping was added using Reverse Stars and Scripted Stars. Some white paint splashes, some dark ink around the edges and a doodled border finish the page off. Little Star Light is grounded with some of Janet's washi tapes.

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Path of Positivity: Nordic Winter

Hello!

Today is the midway point of the Path of Positivity challenge.
The challenge lasts for the month of November.

This month the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of
Be Grateful.

We have no sponsor this month and in the spirit of being GRATEFUL for what we have in our lives already, it will just be for fun!

With no sponsors, we had free range to create anything we liked, so I am grateful for this opportunity to create some Christmas or Winter Greeting cards.

I bought the Sizzix, Tim Holtz 'Nordic Winter' die a few months ago thinking that it would be a quick and easy way to create multiple cards for the Holiday Season.
Wrong.
I found it to be is so addictive, and that little OCD part of me crept to the forefront, and I couldn't stop making (mainly because I had decided to paper piece and each time I had tiny pieces left over from each colour of card, so they were the start of a new one).
I love that this is crafting and a puzzle at the same time - so many different size and shapes of trees and stars.
Here is the one card that I have finished so far:

I used traditional colours for this one and inked the edges of the houses and reindeer before fitting them back into place. I used white as my mat layer so that some shapes could be left unfilled. I added it to a kraft mat and stamped and die cut the greetings using a Crafter's Companion set called Winter Solstice. The Snowflake is a 3D Impresslit from Sizzix which embosses and cuts at the same time. I cut the large and small one and layered them up, adding some glitter and a crystal bead to the centre. The greetings are popped up on foam tape.

Here are the rest of the panels I made - some traditional colours and some more modern. I still have loads of confetti shapes left, but for the time being I have packed this die away :)

It would have been a lot, lot easier, had I just inked a piece of card, die cut it and matted onto white base. I think maybe that's the way I'll go when I have my next session with this amazing die!
I have also seen cards and tags made just from the shapes only. So much fun and versatility from one die. I highly recommend it, as long as you have a little patience :)

That's all for now.
We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!

I'll be back with a another Path of Positivity project in a couple of weeks time.

* Vera Lane Studio: Gnome for The Holiday

Hello

At Vera Lane Studio we have a new digi set release today called Gnomes and Sheep. They are adorable and perfect for Christmas crafting or all year round journalling and cards.

I made a panel to add to my journal with a Christmas theme:

I coloured the images with Copic markers and fussy cut them out. The background was stamped with oxide inks using #485 Reverse Stars, then extra colour added with blending sponges. Iridescent modelling paste was applied through the #126 Lotza Starz stencil and some white paint splatters. More stars were stamped in black around the edges and a doodled border drawn. The gnomes and sheep were adhered directly onto the background with some of Janet Klein's lovely #21 Beach Rock washi tape for grounding.
(Stamps, stencil and washi tape from AALL & Create)

Gnomes and Sheep.

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Gecko Galz: Gnomes at Home

 Hello

This month at the Gecko Galz Facebook Group our ATC swap is Gnomes at Home.

We are given the digital collage sheets to make the ATCs, but can add to in any way we please.

I had fun making this mini pocket letter with my 3 ATCs.

Here is the complete mini pocket letter:

And this is what it looks like when the ATCs are taken out:

The ATCs are pretty basic, but the gnomes are popped on foam for dimension. I added some die cut grass to the bottom and some puffy flower stickers. Tiny glitter dots and Stickles complete the background, along with some Small Talk sentiment stickers.
The plastic wallet has layered dies added in the form of acorns and toadstools. Two die cut branches were also added to the top of each pocket.
To finish it, I added a polka dot ribbon and a tiny gnome charm.

Here are the individual ATCs:

I couldn't resist this little Christmas tree gnome ornament, so I include him in my package along with a gnome card.

If you'd like to join our next ATC swap, come and join the Gecko Galz Facebook group
We'd love to see you there.
That's all for now.

Vera Lane Studio: November

 Hello

First, please let me welcome 2 new followers, Angela Hoynes and Glennis F.  I am thrilled that you are here.

Today for my Vera Lane Studio DT project I made a card featuring the November girl.

Isn't she lovely - kicking her way through the fallen leaves. She looks warm and cozy in her big coat, hat, scarf and gloves. This was how we spent part of our weekend tidying up leaves in the garden.

I coloured my November girl and the leaves from September with Copic pens and fussy cut them.  The background is PaperArtsy Infusions and Brushos lightly applied onto a stencil, spritzed with water and stamped onto white card. I added some stamping using Janet's #494 'X or O' stamp set and doodled a frame border. I added torn pieces of Janet's #17 Mix & Match washi tape to ground the girl. I curled the leaves and glued just in the centre to give them some dimension.
