ATC: Christmas Fishes

Today I'm showing an ATC I made for the Wicked Wednesday challenge. 

The theme this week is Winter Hats or Accessories, and as the lovely Miss Rach is the sponsor, I decided to use a Miss Rach digi which you can find here.

Miss Rach has some lovely digis at very reasonable prices - if you haven't visited, let me tell you - it's well worth your while!

Anyhow, here is my ATC:

I used glitter card and mirri card for the background and used a border die to cut waves.  I die cut some seaweed from patterned paper and left the fronds loose. I coloured my clown fish with markers and added some glitter to his hat's fur trim.  He's attached on foam pads for a bit of dimension. I added some splatters of watered down white acrylic paint to represent bubbles and a hand written sentiment with inked edges.

ATC: Feathers

Hello!

Welcome to Terri, Babs and Wendy - I'm thrilled you could join me! 

This week, the ATC challenge at Wicked Wednesday is Fins, Feathers or Fur.

I went with feathers, as I remembered I had a cute little bird by Miss Rach, who is the sponsor. 

I bought this bird because it was pretty to look at - I had no idea how gorgeous it is in real life! It's an Australian Bee Eater and I had to Google it to see how I should colour it. WOW!!! I didn't expect that.

    

{Moral of this little tale: buy from Miss Rach and get educated :-) teehee! }

Anyhow...here is my ATC:

The marbled background was printed using shaving cream and Dylusions ink in Fresh Lime and Calypso Teal. The edges of the card were then inked in black.

The bird was coloured with alcohol markers, then fussy cut leaving a thin white border. This was matted onto black card and fussy cut again. The image was added to the ATC on foam pads. Glitter was applied to the little heart and 2 craft feathers were stuck to the bottom corner along with a lime green bow. Such a 'tweet' little bee eater!

ATC: Getting Ready for Halloween

A very warm welcome to my latest followers, Jane Willis and Elena Moskeleva.
And also Lisa Dryden who's following on Google +

Here is an ATC that I made for this week's challenge at Wicked Wednesday, where the theme is 'Getting Ready For Halloween'.

I don't really go in for scary, I prefer cute and whimsical!

I used distress inks (Crushed Olive and Spiced Marmalade) and a blending tool for the background, then stencilled some patterns and inked the edges. I drew a hand drawn border and a spider and web was added in one corner.

The images are from Vera Lane Studio. The 'scary' pumpkin was a free image for Facebook subscribers and the cat is from the Cats and Crocks set. They were coloured with markers and Glossy Accents was applied to their eyes. The pumpkin was set onto some gauze on foam pads and the beads to spell "Boo" were attached with Pinflair gel glue.

ATC: Anthropomorphism

Hi Crafty Friends,

A very special welcome to my new followers, Carol Gill and Cara Malmrose! 

 Whoo-hoo - I was a winner at Wicked Wednesday with this one.

Well, it would appear that my mojo stayed on holiday a little longer than I did! But today I finally managed to make a fun ATC for this week's Wicked Wednesday Challenge. 

The theme is anthropomorphism (giving human characteristics to non-human things/objects/animals).

I used some Vera Lane Studio images and gave them googly eyes.

The background was textured by applying modelling paste through a 

Luscious Leaves, Dylusions stencil. Once dry, this was inked using Bamboo Leaves and Crushed Olive.  The images were coloured with Spectrum Noir markers, then fussy cut and glued onto the background. Googly eyes were added to make the plants anthropomorphic. A statement and a hand drawn border finished off the ATC.

ATC: Something in the Sky

Hello again!

One of my favourite artists is sponsoring this week's Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge ... the lovely Vera Lane Studio.  

The theme is 'Something in the Sky'.

We've been experiencing some very hot, sunny weather for the last week and that along with my little cat, Casey, has inspired me to make a bright, summer sunshine ATC.



My ATC background is torn design paper, in three different patterns, to which I added a hand drawn border.

I used elements of these digital sets which can be found here, here and here:

       

The images were coloured with Spectrum Noir markers and then fussy cut. They were attached on foam pads to give dimension.

ATC: Circus Acts

The theme for week #209 at Wicked Wednesday is Circus Acts.

Here is my make:

I used TH distress inks for the background, overstamped with a Dylusions diamond pattern in Vintage Photo.  I had no circus themed stamps or digis in my stash, so I found some free colouring page images on the internet, printed them on to white card and coloured with Spectrum Noir markers. They were then fussy cut and attached to the ATC, some directly with glue, others with foam pads.

ATC: Put a Bow on It

Week 207 at Wicked Wednesday has the theme 'Put a Bow On It". 

I made this ATC:

I used my new Aurora Wings digi stamp Cat in Spring Flowers - one of my prizes from a recent win at Wicked Wednesday! The stamp was printed onto white card and coloured with Spectrum Noir markers. It was attached to a black ATC card.

I made a tiny pink ribbon bow from a snippet of ribbon and added it to the cat's neck.  My intension was to put a tiny bell there as well, but try as I might, I couldn't find the bells anywhere.

Here is my lovely cat, Casey, having a lazy day reading the Sunday magazines. (Yes, Parsnip...I know it's Monday, but it takes him all Sunday just to read the paper!)

ATC: Ribbon Tag Matryoshka

Yay!....Mama Babushka helped me be the winner at Wicked Wednesday this week!


And ... I was in the top picks at  Pixies Crafty Workshop for week 225

This week at Wicked Wednesday the ATC Challenge #205 has the theme of "Ribbon Tag". 

Here is what I made:

 

I love Babushka Dolls or Matryoshka. Their bright colours and smiling faces always brighten my day. 

To make my ATC and ribbon tag I used digital papers and a template. The digital papers were part of a set from Pixel Paper Prints called Matryoshka Nesting Doll, and the Matryoshka Doll Template was from Striped Elephants.

The ATC card was covered in patterned paper, both front and back. Space was left open at the back for the tag to be concealed. A thin strip of pink heart patterned paper was glued along the bottom of the ATC and sticky glitter strips added either side. The edges of the ATC were inked in black.

The doll was paper pieced according to the template, and the face of the doll from this set was attached. Paper piecing is such a good way of using up snippets of paper! Stickles glitter and gel stickers were added to the doll's outfit, and glossy accents gave her eyes some shine. The doll was attached to the ATC on foam pads.

The tag was die cut from card using an Xcut Tag die. Patterned paper and a strip of pink paper and glitter strips were added, as on the main ATC.The tag edges were inked in black. A smaller doll was paper pieced and decorated, then glued to the tag. The word 'hi' from the Paper Smooches  'Scripty Sayings' set was stamped  and ribbons were attached.

I like the idea of a smaller Matryoshka coming from within the larger one :-)

ATC: Garden Friends

The challenge at Wicked Wednesday this week is #204 Garden Friends

The sponsor is Miss Rach and I was delighted when I visited her blog to find some digi freebies.

I've used the adorable spring hedgehog to make my ATC.

Background: I textured the ATC card with Tiny Dots stencil and modelling paste. Then I used a blending tool to apply ink (Crushed Olive, Bamboo Leaves, Vintage Photo and Danube Blue with a touch of Nautical Blue). Next I added more texture with a cracked surface stamp from Inkilicious. The card was edged in jet black ink.

Image:  Miss Rach's free spring hedgehog was coloured with Sprectrum Noir markers. The eyes and nose were coated in glossy accents to give some shine. It was cut to leave a thin white border and was mounted on foam pads.

The grass was die cut (Your Next Die: Flower Fun Spring Grass) from book paper and smooshed in distress ink (Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed) and water then attached in layers to the bottom of the ATC.

A piece of baker's twine was wrapped around the top of the ATC and tied in a bow.
