Conjurer of Dreams: Santa on Vacation

Hello

Today I'm sharing some projects I made using Conjurer of Dreams images. I hope you'll pop over to the store and take a look at the Digital Art on sale for collage, scrapbooks, journals, cards and more.

We have an open, worldwide challenge at the Conjurer of Dreams Blog.
The challenge theme is always 'Anything Goes', and this month's optional theme is
'Santa on Vacation'.
We hope you'll share your projects with us.

We also have a friendly Facebook Group where we would love for you to share your Conjurer of Dream projects.

Here are my DT makes:

A trio of ATCs:

Here I digitally added Santa on Vacation to some beautiful backgrounds from Conjurer of Dreams. They were printed , matted onto gold card, then placed on Oxide Stencil stamped background ATCs. I added some die cut, oxide coloured florals as embellishments.

Santa visited France and wanted to see Monet's gardens and home at Giverney. He was not disappointed! Kim's Monet Stained Glass collage set provides the background.

Next, Santa headed for some sun and surfing on the beautiful island of Maui in Hawaii, and who could blame him? The background here is from Colourful Beach Huts.

Lastly before they headed home to the North Pole, Santa treated Mrs Claus to a trip to Martinique. They had a day trip hiking in the north of the island exploring the forests, waterfalls and coastal mangroves. The background is from Gauguin Stained Glass Windows.

Mini Journal Pages

I used the Santa on Vacation collage set and die cut film roll to make two pages for my small journal.
The backgrounds are stencil stamped with green oxides. I added some tall, die cut wildflowers and foliage to represent the warmer climates they visited. The title is made from alpha stickers and the sentiments are stickers from Idea-ology.

***

Christmas Cards

I made three Christmas cards. I used my own background papers.

This one, and the one below, have beautiful images from the Christmas Florals Collage set. I teamed them with hessian trim and wooden stars for a rustic vibe.

The following card has Mini Christmas Tags made into a banner and threaded through hessian string. Red velvet ribbon and a knot bow embellish this one.

Digital pieces:

I used a couple of my photographs and digitally added the Santa Claus Character and The Grinch.

Path of Positivity: Hope and Faith

 Hello

Today is the start of a new challenge at the Path of Positivity.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme. We have decided that our overall theme for 2024 will be THE POWER OF WORDS.

December's option is to design a project that is inspired by quotes about

Hope and Faith

***

Here is my project:

I made a Christmas banner.

I die cut the banner flags and covered with traditional coloured Christmas patterned paper. I heat embossed each banner with gold EP and punched holes for the velvet ribbon.

I used a Sizzix die to die cut the words, Faith, Hope and Joy out of gold glitter card. I then die cut the words from ivory, pearly shimmer card to add as a shadow so the words would stand out more.

I made poinsettia flowers and winter foliage to add to each banner. The poinsettias were cut with a Yvonne Creations die from pearlised card and heat embossed with Cracking Campfire Distress Glaze. The result looks and feels like enamel. I popped a brad through the centre of each flower. The foliage was cut with a Tim Holtz, Sizzix die from distress oxide inked card.

I decided to add some gold, die cut garland swags from the top of each banner. and a small floral in the centre of the flags with words. The end banners have no words, so I added two die cut bells and florals. The wooden deer on the Joy flag was heat embossed in gold and has a tiny die cut flower at his neck.. To finish the florals, I added some berries - again die cut and heat embossed with glaze.

Here are this month's suggested quotes, for inspiration, but you can choose your own:

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.” — Martin Luther King, Jr.“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it.” — J. M. Barrie

“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.” — Albert Einstein

“To live without hope is to cease to live.” — Fyodor Dostoyevsky

“Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light.” — Helen Keller

That's all for now.

Crafts Galore Encore: Vintage Christmas

 Hello

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore.

The theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter up to 3 different projects.  The challenge runs all month until mid day (GMT) 30th December.

This month's challenge is kindly sponsored by Gecko Galz.

Here is what I made:

It's a tri-fold card decorated with papers from the Stephanie Paper Pack, matted onto gold card. The edges of the papers have been heat embossed in gold.
The image is from the Once Upon a Time Junk Journal Kit. This image was heat embossed in gold along the edges, as was the sentiment which is from the Christmas in Nature ATC set.
I decided to add some die cut gold baubles to the side panels.
From above it looks like this:

I cut the base of the card from some pearlised, embossed card that I've had in my stash for years - it's perfect for this style of card as both sides are pearlised and it saves having to cover the back of the card as well. There is room on the back for any greetings and messages.

Here is how it folds up to fit a standard 5 x 7inch envelope.

That's all for now.

Many thanks to Leanne at Gecko Galz for her generous prize of a $25 store voucher for our random winner.

Please pop over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs and to enter our challenge.

We'd love to see your creations.
Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card and you can enter up to 3 times.

Thanks for stopping by today!

***

Here is what I made as inspiration for the Customer Challenge..

It's a mini Pyramid Book, which opens alternately to the left and to the right and it folds down like a concertina or accordion.
Here is the front:

I used printed card to create the book structure and heat embossed the edge of the pages in gold. There are five double sided pages in my book and they open one way and then the other. The top pages are 2 x 2 inches and the base paper are 4 x 4 inches.
The first pages:

I used an image from Nature's Winter collage set on the right and a free image from Little Winter Birds which was a free with purchase set last month.

The second pages:

Here I used a Christmas Tidings image (free with purchase set) and an image from the Christmas Carols collage set.

The third pages:

Both of these images are from the Yuletide Magic Card Topper collage set.

Fourth pages:

A free with purchase Vintage Santa on the left and an image from Once Upon a Time Junk Journal Set on the right.

Fifth pages:

These two darling images are from a set I received for commenting on the Gecko Galz blog posts. Each month Leanne gives away 4 sets of prizes simply for commenting.

The back of the Pyramid Booklet:
I decided to leave this blank so that the patterned card could be seen.

And finally here are two photos showing the booklet when it is open. Both sides of the concertina have images.

Path of Positivity: Family & Friends

Hello

Today marks the midway point of our challenge at the Path of Positivity.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme. We have decided that our overall theme for 2024 will be THE POWER OF WORDS.

November's option is to design a project that is inspired by quotes about

Family and Friends

***

Here is my Christmas card inspired by this quote:

“Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with family and friends.” — Thomas S. Monson

I digitally added these wonderful Vintage Christmas Animals from Sharm Studio to  winter backgrounds from A&Jj Designs (Whimsical Winter Houses) and made a tri-fold card, step card.

I used embossed, pearlised, ivory card for the structure because the back is pearlised too. The peachy-pink, holly patterned paper is from a very old pack called Vintage Noel by Love to Craft. I heat embossed the edges of all the papers and the images in gold and matted them onto gold paper. The small squares are decorated with gold die cuts. The three steps say Joy, Hope and Love.

 I love these whimsical characters!

Here are this month's suggested quotes, but you can choose your own:

“If there ever comes a day when we can't be together. Keep me in your heart. I'll be there forever.” — Winnie the Pooh

“Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.” — Helen Keller

“Having somewhere to go is home. Having someone to love is family. And having both is a blessing.” — Author Unknown

“The length of one's days matters less than the love of one's family and friends.” — Gerald R. Ford

“Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with family and friends.” — Thomas S. Monson
