Vera Lane Studio: Trinchie Calendar 2

 Hello

It's Monday and my Vera Lane Studio DT day.

The Calendar Challenge is coming to a close and today I'm sharing three trinchies that I made, one for May, one for November and the third for December:

***
For January, the theme is New Beginnings or Celebration, I used the lovely Cheerleader. I gave her a flag banner from Food Stall and her sentiment comes from the Live Joyfully set (available on request).

November's theme is Home or Reading. I chose to use the house from You Are Your Home set. Janet's stencil and stamp set, available from AALL & Create, were used to make the background:

*
December's theme is Winter Wonderland or Holiday Cheer. I went with Holiday Cheer and put my little cats into Christmas hats around the tree. The cats are from the Meow set whilst the tree is from the recently released Doodle Tree Lot set.

* Path of Positivity #117 Midway: Grown with Love

Hello

Welcome to the midway reminder for the November Path of Positivity Challenge.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme.

This month's option is to design a project that is inspired by TEXTURE.

Honours and Prizes include:

  • $6 worth of images from Scribbles Designs, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • A badge for the following honours: Top PickVoter's ChoiceMost InspirationalRandom WinnerDT Delight.

Here is my midway DT project:

My project was totally inspired by watching some of Tracy Evans's YouTube videos. I love the stencilled, crackle paste, textured background and the vintage colours from the Distress Oxide ink spray. Tracy's video can be viewed here: Stencils and Texture. The boots and cyclamen are stamped and partially coloured with Inktense watercolour pencils, and this arrangement was inspired by Tracey's snippet video: Snippet #3.

That's all for now.
We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!

Vera Lane Studio: Antony & Cleopatra

Hello

It's Monday and my Vera Lane Studio DT day.

Today there is a new digi set release and it is Antony and Cleopatra.

Here is what I made:

I used Copics to colour the digis and popped them on an Oxide background which has heat embossing and stamping using AALL & Create stamps. The characters are grounded with torn, gold washi tape. Lots of white and gold splatters were applied and some gold acrylic paint was smeared around the edges.

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

***
Here's what I made:

The floral background paper and butterflies are from the Victorian Elegance Junk Journal Kit, whilst the image is fussy cut from the Pretty Victorians collage set. I added some die cut, tea-stained doilies and some pretty lace and backed it on handmade paper.

***

I made a card, adding lace and pearls for simple elegance. The image is from Pretty Victorians and isn't she pretty. The paper is digitally altered to blue and is from the Victorian Kit. I used silver shimmer paper for mats and layers:

***
I love these ladies - I imagine they're friends enjoying an afternoon tea-dance.  One of them says, 'We've been friends so long, I've forgotten which one of us is the bad influence.'
The image is from De-lovely Victorians.

***
I also made a small accord book
The details can be found here.

Vera Lane Studio: Calendar Trinchies

Hello

It's Monday and my Vera Lane Studio DT day.

In the Vera Lane Studio Facebook group there is a Calendar challenge. It ends on the 1st December, so I needed to get a wiggle on and complete some pages.

Here are my trinchies for June, July and August:

For June the theme is Summer Fun or Seaside.

I used one of the girls from Beach Love and a palm tree from Aloha, coloured with Copic markers. The background was smooshed in Distress Oxides and some heat embossing and stamping (with AALL & Create stamps) was added. Janet's washi tape acts as grounding.

For July the theme is Destinations or Family Vacations.

I used the French Holiday digi set. The background was stamped with a stencil drenched in Oxide inks. Stamping and heat embossing were added and word washi tape for grounding.

For August the theme is Sunshine or Weather.

I used the Be The Sunshine digi set. The background was stamped with an acetate blocK which held Distress Oxides and water. Janet's Background Noise stamps were used for heat embossing and stamping.

Here are the trinchies on the calendar pages.. Oops - my July and August are the wrong way round :) I'll have to print out the calendar pages again and rescue the trinchies.

Path of Positivity: Chose What You Love

Hello

Welcome to the November Path of Positivity Challenge.

Here is my DT project:

I used a 3D, Crafter's Companion embossing folder, called Regency Swirls, to make a dimensional textured background for my card. I spritzed black card lightly with water, then ran it through my Big Shot. The dimension is incredible. I used a finger dauber to ink over the entire panel in Bundled Sage, although it doesn't really show up here. Then I used my finger and gold wax to rub over the raised elements.
I found an Idea-ology paper doll that I liked and a set of clear acetate wings. I added colour to the wings with alcohol ink and sprinkled Glamour Dust glitter on the reverse. The sentiment is backed onto a strip of gold paper and is adhered on foam tape as is the paper doll.

That's all for now.
We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!
