Crafts Galore Encore: For Santa

Hello
Happy November :)

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore.

The theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter up to 3 different projects.  The challenge runs all month until mid day (GMT) 29th November.

This month's challenge is kindly sponsored by The Paper Shelter.

I used the For Santa digi set for my card:

This lovely set comprises of a background, a pre-coloured image and black and white line drawings for you to colour. I used the background and the pre coloured image for my card. I digitally altered the background by adding an extra text border, some gold spatters and some icicles. I fussy cut the image leaving a white border and popped it onto foam tape.  The card came together quickly and simply. I added a couple of sentiments.

That's all for now.

Many thanks to The Paper Shelter for their generous prize of 3 digi stamps for our random winner.

Please pop over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs and to enter our challenge.

We'd love to see your creations.
Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card and you can enter up to 3 times.

Thanks for stopping by today!
xoxo

* Crafts Galore Encore: Frog & Oleander

Hello

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore

The theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter up to 3 different projects The challenge runs all month until mid day (GMT) 29th June.

Beccy's Place is very kindly sponsoring this month's challenge.

Here is my project using the lovely Frog and Oleander set:

I used the pre-coloured digi stamp for my project. I printed it three times, so that I could fussy cut it and layer it up on foam pads for a decoupage, 3D effect. I added some Polychromo shading on the top layers and some white Posca pen highlights. I made a stencilled background using three shades of green Distress Oxide inks and a lovely AALL & Create stencil. The sentiment is stamped.

Many thanks to Beccy at Beccy's Place for continuing to support the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge.

Please pop over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs.

* C.R.A.F.T. GDT: Warm in the Winter

Hello!

I am delighted to be joining C.R.A.F.T. Challenge Blog for a month of Guest DT posts. Thank
you to Jo and the C.R.A.F.T. Team for inviting me.

The challenge theme this third week is Christmas and the sponsor is The Paper Shelter.

I used an image called Warm in the Winter supplied by The Paper Shelter. This image is the pre-coloured one which is just beautiful.

I made a background from Distress Oxides and a stencil. I cut two pieces of textured card to create snow banks and placed my lovely image on top. I decided to die cut two fir trees and colour them with Oxide Inks and a little Wink of Stella. The sentiment is a Sara Davies die set.

That's all for now.

You can enter the C.R.A.F.T. challenge twice - we hope to see you there.

That's all for now. I'm back next Thursday day with my final GDT challenge inspiration card for the C.R.A.F.T. blog.

Thanks for stopping by today.

* Vera Lane Studio: Lil' Peeps Waterfall Booklet

 Hello

Mondays do come around so quickly, at least for me they do!

For my Vera Lane Studio DT project this week I have a waterfall booklet.

This is my first attempt at a waterfall and I have to say it almost didn't happen! Persistence is, however, my middle name, so I kept calm and carried on, so to speak!

Here is the result.

This first photo shows the inside of the booklet with the waterfall feature to the left. Pull the ribbon and the page flips over to reveal a new one.

This is the front cover:

This is the back cover - the Fat Cats are so cute!

As the pages flip over, these are the ones to be revealed:

I used a fairly new collage set called Lil Peeps for the majority of images, but I also used Little Houses and one of my favourites, a Fat Cat, sneaked in on the back cover!

The backgrounds were made by smooshing, dipping and dabbing into puddles of Distress Oxides and water. I used Antique Linen, Scattered Straw, Victorian Velvet and Seedless Preserves, drying in-between different colours to prevent mud making. Stamping with Janet's Visual Ingredients background stamps was done with Oxides and black Versafine Clair. White splatters were added, along with washi tape to ground the characters and bits of torn washi tape were added around the page edges.

The collage sheets are so easy to use, just print, cut and go! The colours are wonderful.  This time, I didn't add any of my own colouring at all to the images, they are exactly as they came from the printer.

I watched this You Tube video to learn how to make the waterfall:

Janet's washi tapes that I used are available from AALL & Create
#17 Mix n Match                                 #19 Wishy Washi

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Vera Lane Studio: Be Mine Mini Book

Hello

Today is DT day at Vera Lane Studio.

I am sharing a mini book that I made using a set of pre-coloured collage sheets called Be Mine. There are 2 jpg sheets containing over images and sentiments.

I made an accordion wallet mini book and there were plenty images left over.

Here it is unfolded:

The images are great to cut out and use as they come. They are perfect for making quick and easy cards. However, if you like to make them your own there are tons of things you can do with them. Here are just a few:
- add more colour/alter the colours
- clear emboss to add shine and make colours more vibrant
- add white highlights/add coloured polkadots or dashes to create patterns
- add glossy accents for shine and dimension
- add glitter or Wink of Stella
- head swaps
- cut sections away and add to other images
(I did this with the fairy wings and I added the wings to a heart on the back page)
- mix and match with other VLS collage elements or digi stamps.

I started by making the cover which is a wallet style one with a die cut heart. Next the accordion pages were made. The cover and pages were smooshed, dipped and dabbed in Distress Oxides (Worn Lipstick and a little Picked Raspberry) to give them some colour. Next I stencilled white gesso through Janet's #118 Saturday Morning stencil and added some pink background stamping using Background Noise. I also added Grit Paste through the hearts from Janet's #114 Art stencil.
Torn washi tape was used to ground the images and all focal images were popped on foam tape for dimension.
I added acetate to the back of the front cover to make a heart window rather than leave the aperture, since the raised images would not get caught this way.
I added an eyelet and some twine to wrap around and fasten the wallet cover.

That's all for now.
I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!
xoxo

* Artsystamper: Happy Birthday

Hello!

Happy Monday!

Today sees the start of a new challenge at the Artsystamper Challenge Blog
Each challenge runs for two weeks and starts on the first and third Monday of the month.
The theme for this challenge is Happy Birthday.
I hope that you can find time to join in the fun!

The winner will receive the stamp set of their choice from TheArtsystamperShop. The Winner and Top 3 will receive a badge for their blog.

Beverly Cole’s selections offer stamps and sentiments in each set as well as pre-coloured images for easy, last minute cards. Why not take a moment and check out what she has in store!

Here is my card:

I used the Vintages Roses and Birds digital set for the images and the Wintery Paper Pack for the sky background and the lavender backdrop. I distressed the edges of the papers and inked them. I added some stamping to the lavender paper to add a little more interest.
The image of the birds on the blossom branch was printed out onto the sky background and then again separately twice, so that they could be fussy cut and decoupaged. Each time the fussy cut edges were lightly inked and the blossoms shaped.
The sentiment is from the Outdoors Man digi set - it is distressed and popped on foam tape.
