* GDT for Stamping Sensations: Beauty in Simplicity

 Hello

Happy New Year!

(This is project 2 of 3 for today.)

I was a lucky winner at Stamping Sensations in November and was delighted to be invited to be GDT for January.

The theme for January is 'Add some Sparkle' and that's exactly what I did:

I stamped a scene using beautiful Lavinia Stamps (the swirls and trees are new to me) and inked the sky and snow with Elements inks.
I added some WOW White Tinsel embossing powders on the swirl stamp and then added Glimmer Dust on the horizon and on the snow banks.  I finished with chunky holographic glitter dotted about randomly.
I flicked some white ink to represent snowfall and edged the card with sparkle. I chose a sticker sentiment from the Idea-ology Small Talk set.

Thank you to Stamping Sensations for having me as a GDT.

I hope you'll pop over to their challenge blog and enter your sparkly projects.

That's all for now.

Thanks for stopping by today!
xoxo

* GDT for Critter Crazy Challenges: Merry & Bright

Hello

I am delighted to have been asked to be guest designer at Critter Crazy Challenges.

The Critter Crazy challenges are always Anything Goes, but MUST feature a creature (furry, feathered, scaly or insect; real or mythical). The challenges run from the 1st to the 25th of each month and winners are announced on the last day of the month.

I decided to use a new-to-me stamp set, called Field Dayfrom Card-io Stamps to make a winter scene.

Card-io is a family run, small business in the UK. They have been around for a number of years, but are a new discovery for me. I went to a craft fair a few weeks ago and watched the owner of the company demonstrating these northern lights scenes. I was smitten straight away.

I stamped the twiggy branch to make the wreath, then stamped the Field Day images. Next I masked and inked the sky and snow. Glamour Dust glitter was applied to the snow and the branches and chunky embossing enamel applied to represent snow. I added a sentiment from a different stamp set and a black and white gingham bow.

I literally could spend all day making these lovely little scenes.

Thank you so much to Critter Crazy for featuring me as guest designer.

Many thanks for stopping by today!

TioT GDT: Make A Wish

 Hello

I am delighted to be GDT today at Try It On Tuesday

The theme at TioT this time is Texture and I made my card with heaps of texture derived from layering die cuts and smooshing inks.

The background is a lacy die-cut (Intricate Lace 664181 Sizzix), smooshed in Antique Linen ink and laid over the top of card which was smooshed, dipped and dabbed in Victorian Velvet ink.

The flowers are layering dies (Brushstroke Flowers #1 665209 Sizzix) which I cut from white card then coloured with inks in various shades of light yellow and pink, I inked the edges of the pieces with Vintage Photo ink and added white paint splatters once they were assembled.

I also added some beautiful pink velvet ribbon trim and placed some sisal fibres beneath the flowers. The flowers are popped on foam tape to lift them from the card and only the centre is adhered so that I could curl and shape the petals to give a more natural look.

Here are some of the products I used:

Thank you to Jo at TioT for inviting me to be GDT.

That's all for now.

Thanks for stopping by today!

* Funkie Junkie Boutique : Icy and Cold

Hello,

I am delighted to be a Guest DT at The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog this month where the theme is Icy and Cold.

I made a pair of tags featuring Tim Holtz's Paper Dolls.

I decided to go with cool, sage green colours and cream rather than the standard blues and greys for this theme. I brayered PaperArtsy Fresco paints onto the die cut tag, then added some grit paste through a stencil.. I heat embossed a mandala stamp and stars from AALL & Create with white powders and added a few silver embossed stars for good measure. I swiped the edges of the tag along the embossing ink and added silver powder to the edges.

I cut some 3D Impresslit Snowflakes. I dipped them into watered down Peeled Paint ink and when dry added some Peeled Paint Distress Glaze, followed by iridescent embossing powder. I also die cut some snowflakes from glitter card.

I heat embossed some chipboard florals with white sparkly powder. I die cut winter foliage using Tim's Sizzix dies.

The snowflakes and foliage was adhered to the tag forming a cluster and the paper dolls were popped on top with washi tape beneath their feet for grounding.

Three tiny, sparkly gems were added and I called my tags done!

Here are a couple of close up photos:

And here are some of the products I used:

That's all for now.

* C.R.A.F.T GDT: Shabby Chic Ice Queen

Hello!

I am delighted to be joining C.R.A.F.T. Challenge Blog for a month of Guest DT posts. Thank
you to Jo and the C.R.A.F.T. Team for inviting me.

The challenge theme this fourth and final week is Shabby Chic and the sponsors are Colour of Love and SheepSki Designs.

I was fortunate to receive this beautiful image, called Ice Queen, from SheepSki Designs. Here is my project:

I coloured the image with Copic markers. I added Glossy Accents to the jewels in her head dress. I used a die to cut the image out. Keeping the die in place, I lightly blended Pumice Stone Distress Oxide around the image. I added some Quickie Glue pen and some iridescent glitter to the snowflakes and to the Ice Queen's eyebrows.

I I used some pretty pearlescent card to die cut the lacy borders and tucked them behind the image and also behind the patterned paper image mat. The image itself is popped on foam tape for some dimension. I added several layers of distressed edged mats finishing with a pearly silver one.

The pink, organza bow was attached to the top left corner and a gemstone flower to the bottom right corner.

Many thanks to Colour of Love and Sheepski Designs for sponsoring the challenge.

That's all for now.

You can enter the C.R.A.F.T. challenge twice - we hope to see you there.
Thanks for stopping by today.

* C.R.A.F.T. GDT: Warm in the Winter

Hello!

I am delighted to be joining C.R.A.F.T. Challenge Blog for a month of Guest DT posts. Thank
you to Jo and the C.R.A.F.T. Team for inviting me.

The challenge theme this third week is Christmas and the sponsor is The Paper Shelter.

I used an image called Warm in the Winter supplied by The Paper Shelter. This image is the pre-coloured one which is just beautiful.

I made a background from Distress Oxides and a stencil. I cut two pieces of textured card to create snow banks and placed my lovely image on top. I decided to die cut two fir trees and colour them with Oxide Inks and a little Wink of Stella. The sentiment is a Sara Davies die set.

That's all for now.

You can enter the C.R.A.F.T. challenge twice - we hope to see you there.

That's all for now. I'm back next Thursday day with my final GDT challenge inspiration card for the C.R.A.F.T. blog.

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge GDT: Kawaii Giraffe

Hello

I am delighted to be joining C.R.A.F.T. Challenge Blog for a month of Guest DT posts. Thank you to Jo and the C.R.A.F.T. Team for inviting me.

The challenge theme this second week is an EASEL card and the sponsors are All Dressed Up and Oddball Art.

I used an Oddball Art image called Kawaii Valentine Giraffe.

I made a circular easel card using a scalloped circle die set. I made the base of the card in black and added a smaller scallop of white card as the topper and a second one inside.
The front panel was heat embossed with fine white powder using the Reverse Stars stamp from AALL & Create. I then dipped my card into puddles of Dried Marigold Distress Oxide to add the colour. I love how one oxide pad can give a variety of shades of the same colour.
I coloured my giraffe with Copic markers and fussy cut him. I added  Glossy Accents to his eyes and to the heart. The sentiments both on the outside and inside are stamps by Lawn Fawn. The ones inside are popped up on foam to act as the stopper for the easel.

Here is a close up of the cute giraffe - his markings are in fact hearts - how adorable!

You can enter the C.R.A.F.T. challenge twice - we hope to see you there.

That's all for now. I'm back next Thursday day with another challenge inspiration card for the C.R.A.F.T. blog.

* CRAFT Challenge GDT: Right Shed Fred

Hello

I am delighted to be joining C.R.A.F.T. Challenge Blog for a month of Guest DT posts. Thank you to Jo and the C.R.A.F.T. Team for inviting me.

The challenge theme this week is MASCULINE and the sponsors are Ike's Art and Dr Digi.

I used a Dr, Digi image called Right Shed Fred.

I coloured the image with Copic markers and fussy cut it. Doctor Digi has the best 'funny' digis - head over to the store to have a look around

The background was made by stamping with a stencil. I smooshed Distress Oxides direct from the pad onto the stencil (#95 Sunrise from AALL  Create), spritzed with water and stamped it onto white card. This is one of my favourite techniques for making backgrounds - very quick and easy and usually I get good results. I added some script stamping using a very old Inkylicious stamp and inked around the edges of the background.

The image is popped on foam tape and I added some die cut leaves , cut from some left over painted card that was lying in my scrap box.

The sentiment was stamped with a free stamp set I got with a paper crafting magazine.

You can enter the C.R.A.F.T. challenge twice - we hope to see you there.

That's all for now. I'm back next Wednesday with another challenge inspiration card for the C.R.A.F.T. blog.

Thanks for stopping by today.

* GDT at Try It On Tuesday: Butterfly Birthday

Hello

I am delighted to be joining Try It On Tuesday as GDT this fortnight. Thank you, Jo, for inviting me!

The challenge theme this time is Butterflies

Here is the card I made:

I made a colourful background from Distress Oxides in Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Evergreen Bough by smooshing, dipping and dabbing white card in puddles of ink. I die cut the panel to place on top using the beautiful Tim Holtz die set.
My butterflies are from Tracy Evan's Through the Meadows and Hibiscus stamp sets from AALL & Create. I heat embossed them and watercolored with Arteza Brush pens.
The butterflies were glued to the background just at the centre, so there is some movement. White paint splatters were applied and the sentiments were matted onto black card and adhered in place.

I made an insert for the card using a die cut as a stencil and using the same inks and a brush to blend them. The inside sentiment is my favourite from Inkylicious.

That's all from me.
Thanks for stopping by today.

* Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges GDT: Delightfully Dotty Wendy

Hello

I am delighted to have been invited to Guest Design at Scrapping4fun Challenges.

The current challenge starts today and lasts for 2 weeks.

The theme for challenge #191 is Ladies/Girls/Mothers' Day

Di's Digi Stamps are the sponsor of the challenge and here is a card I made using Delightful Dotty Wendy

I coloured the digi stamp image with Copic markers and fussy cut her. The background was made with die cut white card over a Distress Ink background made by smooshing, dipping and dabbing ink onto card until I was happy with it. I stamped the sentiment and used a banner die to cut it. I had some orange inked card in my stash, so I die cut some flowers from that and arranged them on the card with a pink polkadot bow to match Delightfully Dotty Wendy's dress.

Here is a close up:

Many thanks to Scrapping4Fun Challenges for inviting me to guest design today. If you have time please pop over and maybe enter their challenge for the chance to win some wonderful Di's Digi Stamps.

That's all from me.
Thanks for stopping by today.
