Vera Lane Studio: Be The Sunshine

 

Hello

It's my DT at Vera Lane Studio and today I have a card featuring a relatively new digi set called Be The Sunshine.


I used Copics to colour the images and then fussy cut them. I added white Posca pen highlights and one of Vera's Borders to ground them. They are on a stencilled background. I used an AALL & Create stencil in the traditional way, masking off the edges, to give a white border. Distress Oxides were brushed through the stencil and darkened around the edges. I doodled around alternative corners and added some white splatters. I decided to mount it on kraft card.

Gecko Galz: More Wanderlust


 Hello

We're heading towards the end of July and today is my DT day at Gecko Galz.
Our customer challenge, on the blog,  is Wanderlust and my projects are based on this theme.

First I have a retro travel tag:


I used one of the Little Ladies From Around the World and a travel poster from the Road Less Travelled collage set. I popped the poster behind a wooden frame and fussy cut the little girl. I made the background by stamping with a stencil, using distress oxides. The sentiment is a Small Talk sticker.

I also made a small journal page:


The background is stencilled with Distress Oxide inks. The lady and luggage image is from the Travel On collage sheet and it is teamed with a travel poster from the Postcards from Abroad collage set. I added some stamping around the edges and torn washi tape words containing adjectives describing travelling. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz's Small Talk sticker Book


My customer inspiration project was an A5 vintage journal page.

Vera Lane Studio: Tennis Anyone?

 

 Hello

It's my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and I have made a journal page using today's new digi set release called Tennis Anyone?:

I used a combination of green Distress Oxides smooshed onto a stencil from AALL & Create to make a monoprint background for this little tennis player. I added some tone on tone stamping and some black stamping around the edges. I coloured the images with Copic markers and grounded the little girl on some of Janet's washi tape from AALL & Create. I mounted it onto a piece of card stamped with green stars.

I love how her hair is flying as she goes to strike the ball.

Vera Lane Studio: Hello July


 Hello

It's my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and I have made a polaroid slide using an older digi set called July:


She's a gorgeous girl enjoying a huge slice of water melon in the sunshine..
 I coloured her with Copic markers and added some white Posca pen highlights. Her background is stamped with one of Janet's AALL & Create stencils and distress oxide inks.  I stamped (AALL & Create) around the edges and added some paint splatters. I also brayered a little white acrylic paint onto the background so that July girl would stand out more. 
I popped her on a striped border, from Vera's Borders, to ground her.

* Vera Lane Studio: Beautiful Ride


Hello

It's my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and we have a new digi set release called Beautiful Ride to share today.

I made a card:

Isn't he adorable! 

He's coloured with Copics and popped on a mono print made by stamping with a stencil using Distress Oxide inks. I added some white paint splatters and some stamping using one of Janet's AALL & Create background stamp sets. I inked around the edges in black and doodled a border.

Gecko Galz: Wanderlust

 

Hello

July is here and we have a new customer challenge at the Gecko Galz blog challenge. The theme this month is Wanderlust.

We also have the monthly Image Challenge, the monthly Christmas Image Challenge and the monthly Stamp Challenge on the blog, as well as 4 Facebook challenges. 
We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

The winner of the Customer challenge will get a $25 Gecko Galz Etsy Store voucher and the runner up a $12 voucher. There are plenty of free Gecko Galz images if you don't already own any. Each blog post has a free image to collect and, if you sign up for the monthly newsletter, there is the chance to claim a free collage set each month.  Also if you make any purchase of $2 or more you receive a free image.

I made a piece which I intend to stick in my A5 art journal: 


The background is mica sprays through a stencil with some Vintage Photo script stamping. The image is from the Great Journeys collage sheet. I added two Tim Holtz paper dolls either side and decorated it with paper lace die cuts and flowers.
Here is a closer look at the focal image and it is just one of ten on the collage sheet.

* Crafts Galore Encore: Rory's Orchid

 Hello

 Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore. 

The theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter up to 3 different projects The challenge runs all month until mid day (GMT) 30th July.

Colour of Love is very kindly sponsoring this month's challenge.

Here is my project using the lovely Rory's Orchid digi:

I die cut the stamp with a Lawn Fawn scalloped rectangle. I the coloured the digi stamp with Copic markers and inked around the background whilst the die was still in place to give the white frame around the stamp.

I used a MoJo Monday card sketch (#242) for my design and used design papers in co-ordinating colours. 

I added a scalloped crochet lacy die cut and made a paper flower to finish off my card.
