Hello!

Today we have a new release at Vera Lane Studio. It is Matilda and she is back to celebrate 2019! She comes in a 4 digi set, one plain dress, 2 patterned dresses and one 2019 New Year dress.

Here is the card I made:

Matilda is wearing one of the patterned dresses and she is coloured with Copics. She has Stickles glitter on her eyes and a somewhat fussy and sparkly background to match her sentiment. The background paper is a gelli print made with a flourish background stamp. I finger painted the edges of the card with gold paint and added some stamped flourishes and some stencilled gold Sparkle Medium. Matilda is grounded on some glitter washi tape and her sentiment is from Tim Holtz's Small Talk sticker pad.

Hello!

For my DT day at Vera Lane Studio I made a fun Christmas card.

I used one of the elves from Christmas Cheer and coloured her with Copic markers, adding highlights with a white Posca pen. I fussy cut her and two trees from the set, leaving a thin white border. I made the background with Distress Oxides  adding water droplets to bleach out some colour and also white paint splatters to replicate snow fall. Two die cut snow mounds made from white card. These were added to the bottom portion and the card and the elf and trees were popped on foam pads for some dimension. The sentiment is from the Calm and Bright set. The edges of the card were inked in black and matted onto dark blue card, then attached to a white card base.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane.
It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Hello!

Have you been following the 24 Days of Deck The Halls over at the Gecko Galz blog? The DT have made some incredibly beautiful pieces using vintage and retro images and stamps!

Today is day 8 and here is what I made:

Joyful Santa Art Doll:

This was so simple to make and looks lovely as a decorative piece on my window sill.

Santa stands on a base made from a cut down cardboard canister which has been painted with black acrylic paint. He stands 10 inches tall. The vintage Santa head is from the Christmas Icons collage sheet. I resized it and printed it twice, being sure to flip one image horizontally so that they could be lined up back to back. I fussy cut the images and inked the edges with Vintage Photo and then black ink. The simple shaped body is made from cardboard packaging - I made sure to leave a strip of cardboard where the head could be attached. The body is covered with Christmas paper from the Merry and Bright paper pack. The boots are made from thick black cardstock with a coating of Glossy Accents to make them shiny.  A piece of florist wire was bent in half and attached to the body and down the legs so that Santa stands on top of the base. To finish, I added a black ribbon belt along with a gold coloured buckle I found in my stash. I gave him a fur collar and coat trim by glueing some Snow Fibre onto his coat.
I love how he turned out!

Angel Tree Decoration

My angel's head is from the Vintage Angels collage sheet. I made her gown from pink paper from the Victoria paper pack. The paper was pleated, gathered together at the top and glued in place. I added some gold paint along the pleats and along the bottom of the gown. Some cream lacy trim and some gold sequin waste were added along the front of the angel's gown. She was given feather boa wings and a gold tinsel pipe-cleaner halo. A piece of fancy ribbon trim was attached for hanging her on the tree.
I think she looks lovely!

Hello!

I'm sharing a quick Christmas card today. It really was so easy to make and looks stunning in real life!

I used a stencil from Imagination crafts called The Clearing. I taped it to my black card and applied Imagination Crafts Sparkle Medium with a palette knife through the stencil. The stencil was peeled away and the paste left to dry. Once it was dry it was matted onto gold card and then attached to a 6 x 6 inch card base. A gold die cut Christmas sentiment was added as the final touch.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Hello!

It's Monday once more, so it's my turn to share my DT project for Vera Lane Studio. Today sees a new Christmas release called Calm and Bright. It's two beautiful Christmas Tree Girls and a sentiment. I love them!

I made a card, simply because you can never have too many Christmas cards.

As usual I used Copic markers to colour the images. I added white highlights and Crystal Stickles to the tree baubles and star and also to the girls eyelashes.
The background is a die cut panel over the top of a gelli print. I matted it onto green card which I edged in black ink before placing it onto a card base. I added the sentiment directly onto the background. The girls are popped on foam for some dimension and grounded by a strip of the gelli print. Some white glitter card stars were added as a final touch.
I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane.
It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Hello!

December brings the final challenge of the year to Crafts Galore Encore. The theme, as always, is Anything Goes and we would love for you to join us!

The generous sponsor this month is Lizzie Love from Oddball Art and the lucky winner will get a $10 store voucher.

I was lucky to receive a digi stamp to work with and I chose Alex's Christmas Holiday. Here is what I made:

I coloured Alex with Copics and added some white Posca pen highlights. I fussy cut her, leaving a thin white border. I made an inky background using an Inkylicious stamp loaded with Distress Oxides and Brilliance metallic gold ink. The stamp was spritzed with water to activate the inks and stamped onto white card. Once the ink was dry, I added some Memento black ink to the stamp's edges and re-stamped. Crystal Stickles was applied in dots to the edges of the stamping for extra sparkle. Alex was placed towards the left and  gold and black die cut sentiments were added. Unfortunately the card I used buckled more than I expected with the use of the water - I hope to get a chance to re-stamp the background.
The white card was matted onto black card and lastly onto gold card, then adhered to the 7 x 7 inch card base.

Many thanks to Lizzy from Oddball Art for generously sponsoring this challenge and offering the $10 store voucher as prize for the winner.

I hope you'll pop to over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs.

We'd love to see your creations.

Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card.

Thanks for stopping by today!
xoxo

Hello!

It's December and the theme for the Gecko Galz customer challenge is Snow Queen.

Also, starting tomorrow on the Gecko Galz blog is the 24 days of Deck The Halls, where each day there will be inspiration and ideas for home decorations - I hope you'll take a look!

Here is what I made for the Snow Queen inspiration:

 A Snow Queen Shaker Card.

The image is from the Snow Queens Collage sheet. It was resized, printed, then fussy cut. I inked the edges in Vintage Photo ink and added Diamond Stickles to the Snow Queen's headdress and skirt. The background is made from Snowflake paper from the Winter Wonderland paper pack. I printed it out to 6 x 6 inches, then added the shaker element from white embossed card and Snowflake paper. Inside the shaker, I added some die cut snow mounds and fir trees from white glitter card. The shaker element is Snow Crystal Glitter.  A die cut snowflake banner was attached to the top the shaker window. The sentiment is from my stash and was mounted onto silver glitter card.

Snow Queen Tag

My tag features a Snow Queen from the From Russia With Love collage sheet. She's been fussy cut along with her deer and some Diamond Stickles applied to her head-dress and coat. The background of the tag is Snowflake paper from the Winter Wonderland paper pack. I added some die cut snow mounds, some sparkly trim and some teal and white glitter card fir trees edged with Vintage Photo ink. A silver snowflake banner was added across one of the corners and the words Joy, Love and Peace from a sentiment in the Christmas Sayings stamp set were inked and attached. Silver ric rac trim and teal organza ribbon were threaded through the tag top.

That's all from me for now!

I hope you'll join our Snow Queen challenge where the Winner will get

Wild Meadow

Hello!

Today I am sharing another Inkylicious stamped card with you.

This time I used stamps from the Wild Meadow set.

My background is made from Distress Oxides, using the dab, spritz, smoosh technique on a craft mat! Once I was happy with the background I spayed it with water to bleach some colour out. The edges were then darkened with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide. The wild grasses were stamped, the ones in the 'distance' were stamped with Vintage Photo DO ink and Peeled Paint DO ink, whilst the ones in the foreground were stamped with Ranger Black ink. The sentiment is one of the four included in the set.

Thanks for stopping by today.
