Vera Lane Studio: Aries

Hello

Welcome to my new follower InnyHenny Meijer.  I am delighted to have you here!

It is my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and I have made a tag, the third one in my zodiac series, with last week's digi set release, Aries.

She is so cute! I coloured her with Copic markers and fussy cut her. She is popped on foam tape for dimension and has cheesecloth beneath her.

The background was inked with Distress Oxides and triple heat embossed with white embossing powder and an AALL & Create stamp by Bipasha called Celestial Navigation. I added white and gold paint splatters and edged the tag with gold acrylic paint. I also added some die cut and embossed gold stars, made using a Sizzix Impresslit folder by Tim Holtz..

That's all for now.
I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Gecko Galz: White Christmas

 Hello

At the Gecko Galz Scrapbooking Blog we always have a 25 Tags of December event, and today is one of my days to show a tag that I created.

I'm calling this one White Christmas:

I used a Sizzix die to create a tag base from white card. I adhered some Gecko Galz patterned paper and a strip of silver glitter tape. Next I added my die cut image from the Winter Wonderland collage set (free at one of the blog hops) and I matted it onto silver mirror card, adding some silvery mesh trim underneath. I cut the girl image out from a second print, shaped her and popped her on foam tape so that she has some dimension. I added some die cut snowflakes with a gem in the centre of each one and I made a couple of 3D Impresslit Snowflakes to which I added glitter and silver embossing powder.
The white edges that were left exposed were also heat embossed with silver powder. A piece of white tinsel was threaded to tie the tag in place.

That's all for now!
I hope you'll join our Holly and Ivy Challenge where the winner will get a $25 shopping spree at the Gecko Galz shop.

* Gecko Galz: Goddess ATC Swap

Hello!

This month is swap month at the Gecko Galz. Paper Crafting Facebook Group.

Kim organises a swap every 2 months and a challenge even other month using selected Gecko Galz images and ATC papers which can be downloaded free from her blog.

The theme for April is Goddess ATCs and here is what I made:

I opted to use gold embellishments to decorate my goddesses, choosing Tim Holtz 3D Impresslits and a TH crochet border die. I threw some golden leaves in for good measure. I love working in miniature form and really enjoyed making these.

Below is a close up of each ATC:

This one uses the 3D Star border Impresslit and the smaller star Impresslit.

For this one, I used the small Star border Impresslit, a mini Cut & Make doily die with a small section of Crochet Border. I used up some ancient gold sticker borders too!

The third ATC has a small Star border and a large Star Impresslit with some leaves cut from a 'Rose Leaf Strip' Britannia die.

That's all for today.

You still have time to join the Gecko Galz customer challenge. The theme for April is Blooming Beauty and the winner will get a $25 shopping spree at the Gecko Galz shop.

* Path of Positivity: Love Ewe

Hello!

Today is the midway point at the Path of Positivity challenge.
The challenge lasts for the month of February.

This month the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of
Celebrate Those You Love.

Prizes this month include:
  • $12 Store Voucher from Bugaboo Stamps, our guest sponsor for this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • ONE image (value of $5 or less) from Scribbles Designs, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch based on all qualifying entrants.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.

Our optional theme this month is Celebrate Those You Love.
You could look beyond the traditional Valentine and maybe encompass all those you love and cherish. Of course you could make a traditional Valentine project, but you could also include friendships, ideals, pets or any person that you love and cherish. Also this concept could include the new ways we interact with one another during the pandemic.

Please remember in order to be eligible for the prizes your project must be positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way.

For my midway DT project I made a Valentine Card. I gave it to my hubby. We've been married for 39 years this April, so I hope the love I feel for him speaks for itself.

I chose this fabulous Love Ewe image from Bugaboo Stamps. We both love nature and visiting the countryside. There is nothing funnier or sweeter than watching the new lambs gambolling about in fields while their frazzled mothers bleat after them.
I coloured my sheep with Copic markers and made the background with a Tim Holtz 3D Texture Fade embossing folder called Intertwined. It is the nearest thing I have to knitted wool. I swiped Distress Ink onto card and spritzed it before embossing.
The heart is a Tim Holtz Impresslit (it cuts and embosses at the same time). This is from a set called Lucky Love.

The background was inked with Vintage Photo around the edges and some heart trim added across the bottom. The sheep image was popped on foam on top of the trim with his head resting on the heart pillow. The sentiment comes with the image - I cut it with a banner die and mounted it onto red card.

Many thanks to Bugaboo Stamps this month's guest sponsor,

and to Scribbles Designs as the ongoing sponsor of the challenge

We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!
