Crafts Galore Encore: Rory's Kitty

  Hello

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore.

The theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter up to 3 different projects.  The challenge runs all month until mid day (GMT) 30th August.

This month's challenge is kindly sponsored by Heather Valentin from Colour of Love.

I used Rory's Kitty to make a birthday card.

I coloured the image with Polychromo pencils and die cut it with a stitched rectangle die.
The background was stamped with a stencil using various blue Distress Oxides. I made an inked mat for the image and die cut some flowers and flourishes from card brayered with acrylic paints. The sentiment is a shop bought one.

Many thanks to Heather from Colour of Love for her generous prize for our random winner.

Please pop over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs and to enter our challenge.

We'd love to see your creations.
Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card and you can enter up to 3 times.

Thanks for stopping by today!
xoxo

Crafts Galore Encore: Fairy Children

Hello!

Hands up if you're happy to see spring is on its way. I'm loving the buds on the trees and the little snowdrops and daffodils!

We are in March already and a new month brings another Anything Goes challenge at Crafts Galore Encore

The sponsor this month is the fabulous Morgan's Art World who are offering the winner 3 digital stamps.

Morgan kindly gave the DT some digital stamps to work with and here is the card I made:

I coloured the image with Copic markers and popped it on foam tape onto some wood-look design paper. I inked the edges of the paper with Vintage Photo.

I made a variety of paper flowers and inked them to match the flowers in the image. I arranged the flowers with foliage and florists' moss to the side of the fairy image and matted it onto black card.

Many thanks to Morgan at Morgan's Art World for generously sponsoring and supporting this challenge. We hope you'll pop over to the shop to see the many lovely products on sale.

* Crafts Galore Encore: Signs of Spring

Hello!
Happy New Year!

January brings another Anything Goes challenge at Crafts Galore Encore

The sponsor this month is the fabulous Oddball Art Co.who are offering the winner a $10 store voucher.

Lizzy at Oddball Art Co. kindly gave the DT some digital stamps  to work with and here is the card I made:

I chose the Signs of Spring digi stamp and this lovely wide eyed girl comes with a choice of four sentiments. I coloured the image with Copics and die cut it with a fancy oval die. The background sky was inked with Broken China Distress Oxide. I used digital design paper for the background and popped the oval on foam tape with some doilies beneath to give a softer edge. I made some flowers using white card, a die and some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide. The flowers turned out to be too pink, so I dry brushed gesso onto the petals. Grey pearls were popped in to the centre off each flower and some leaves were arranged around the oval.
The sentiment was cut with a stitched rectangle die, attached to the card and a pink bow placed above it.

Many thanks to Lizzy at Oddball Art Co. for generously sponsoring and supporting this challenge. We hope you'll pop over to the shop to see the many lovely products on sale.

Also, please pop over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DTs wonderful designs.

* Gecko Galz: Christmas Dreams

Hello!
I'm so glad you are here!

Christmas is almost here and so I am sharing the last of my Gecko Galz Christmas cards today.

I made three similar cards in terms of style and layout.

Card 1:

The gorgeous Santa is from the Purple Passions Collage Set. I distressed the edges and inked them with Vintage Photo, then matted onto gold die cut card. The background paper is from the Winter Wonderlands Paper Pack. Its edges were distressed and inked and it was matted onto dark blue cars with a shimmery finish. I popped some gold mesh trim along the left side of the card and anchored it down with the image mat, popping it up on foam tape for dimension. I made a poinsettia using white glitter paper and inked the edges lightly. I added some gold Prills to the flower centre and arranged it with some die cut leaves on the right side of the image.

***
Card 2:

I used the same Santa from the Purple Passions Collage Set for this card, but changed the background paper. This time I chose one from the La Isla Bonita Paper Pack. I distressed the paper and the image and matted both as before. I added the gold mesh trim across the bottom portion of this card and adhered a die cut sentiment to secure it in place. Again I made some flowers from white glitter paper and inked the edges to match the papers. They were adhered in place along with some gold foliage.

****
Card 3:

This time I used a beautiful little angel image from the Christmas Blessings Collage Set. I teamed it with an enlarged Sentimental Celluloid ATC as my backing paper. The gold mesh trim was added beneath the image mat and a poinsettia flower and gold leaves added to the right side. I die cut a Christmas sentiment and added it to the top of the image.

 ***
Cards 4

These last cards are simple, quick and easy ones. The images were cut to fit the inside of the decorative die cut frame and then they were popped onto small square cards.  The images are from Winter Wonderland (free blog hop set) and Reindeer Way Jewel It collage sets.

I hope you'll join our In Dreams Challenge where the Winner will get a

* Crafts Galore Encore: Autumn Owlet

Hello!

September brings another Anything Goes challenge at Crafts Galore Encore

The sponsor this month is the fabulous Fabrika Fantasy who are offering the winner 3 digistamp images.

Fabrika Fantasy kindly gave the DT some images to work with. I chose this Autumn Owlet
Here is my project:

I coloured the owl with Copic markers and added some white Posca pen highlights. I lightly inked the background of the image with Distress Oxides in Stormy Sky and Antique Linen and added a few patches of Vintage Photo to give it a grungy look. I distressed the edges of the image card with scissors, inked them with Vintage Photo and matted onto kraft card.
The background is brayered Distress Oxides. I used a variety of colours including Picked Fence, Fossilised Amber, Spiced Pumpkin, Fired Brick and Vintage Photo. I brayered Snowflake chalky acrylic paint over the top to tone the colours down a bit. I used a Tim Holtz die to cut a pattern from the top left corner of the background. The edges of the inky background were inked with Ranger black archival ink and it was matted onto kraft card. I added some Vintage Photo ink to the kraft card under the die cut pattern so that the background was be more prominent through the holes.
The image was popped on foam pads and I made a paper flower using a Heartfelt Creations die and die cut some Tim Holtz foliage to make a cluster. I added some cheesecloth to the left side of the image and tucked the flower and foliage in place interspersed with some dried flowers.

Many thanks to Dmitry at Fabrika Fantasy for generously sponsoring and supporting this challenge. We hope you'll pop over to the shop to see the many lovely products on sale.

* Crafts Galore Encore: Fae 3

Hello!

We have a new challenge for February at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog. The theme is always Anything Goes.

Our sponsor for February is Morgan's Art World who are generously offering 3 digi stamps to the challenge winner.

I was given a digi stamp to work with and I chose the beautiful Fae 3. Here is my card:

Fae is coloured with Copics and die cut with a stitched rectangle die. I added some white Posca pen highlights to the flower centres. I mounted the image onto pink card and set aside whilst I made the background.
The background is made from white card, swiped over with a mini Distress ink pad in Spun Sugar. I then lightly added some Memento Rose Bud ink through a stencil to created a 'faded' pattern.  I inked the edges of the background card, first with Rose Bud and then with Ranger Black ink.
I found some pretty laced and attached it to the card and topped it with some pink ribbon. The background was then matted onto pink card which was edged lightly with black ink.
The image and mat were attached on foam pads at a slight angle and I added a die cut butterfly border to the top right hand side. I made some die cut paper flowers and inked the edges of the petals. Once shaped and assembled I added some golden Prills to the centres, attached them to the card and finished them off with some die cut leaves.

The sentiment was die cut three times from pink card and glued together for some dimension. Finally 3 pearls were placed in the top left corner.

Many thanks to our sponsor
Morgan's Art World

Gecko Galz: Golden Days

I am having trouble with Blogger.
I'm sorry, but I cannot comment on blogs that only allow Google account users to leave comments without moderation. I have no idea why and any suggestions are most welcome!

Hello!

At the Gecko Galz blog the 2018 Tricks and Treats Blog Hop is running from October 26th until 31st. Hop on over - there are free collage sheets, prizes, craft ideas and so much more!

This is one of my DT cards using the free collage sheet I gave away on my main post which you can find here.

I made this thoughtful lady into a cameo-style card. I used an oval stitched die to cut the image out and matted it onto a scalloped circle of paper from the Courtly Love paper pack. Before glueing, I decided to add some gold paint, with my finger, along the edges of the image and the scallops. The background paper is from In Marble Halls and was dry embossed - again I added some gold paint along the edges and matted it onto black card. I added a strip of cream crochet lace along the bottom edge of the card and placed the scalloped circle on foam pads for some dimension.
I made some die cut paper flowers from the same paper as the scalloped circle. I carefully added gold paint along the edges of the petals, shaped them and glued them together. Golden Mini Prills were added to the flower centres. I arranged the flowers with black die-cut foliage and cream dried flowers and finished the decorations off with a hessian bow dipped in gold.

That's all for today!

There is still time to join our October Witching Hour challenge where the Winner will get
$25 shopping spree
