* Gecko Galz: Rustic Christmas

Hello

As you know the Gecko Galz blog carries quite a few image challenges every month.

This month I've decided to play along in the ATC challenge.

A collage sheet is provided with ATC backgrounds and images and we make an ATC, or several, and decorate as we wish.

You can get the ATC challenge sheet here. un the 29th December, then it will be gone!

Why not collect it and play along?

Here is what I made:

My cardinal ATC has the red bauble background.
I added some sisal fibres below the image and added glossy accents to the baubles. Two gold embossed wooden leaf embellishments were placed at the top of the ATC with a red velvet, knot bow. Some die cut foliage was added to the base of the image and a tiny tag from CoD  was tucked beneath the image.

The snowman and girl are on the snowy, pinecone background.
I added die cut snow banks to the base and mica flakes to represent the cold, icy conditions. Mr Snowman has pearl buttons and a Glossy Accent top hat. White splatters and silver adhesive dots cover the scene.

The plaid trees are on the patchwork background. Again I added die cut snow banks, with mica flakes, to place the trees upon. Pearl baubles decorate the trees and each has a silver star on top. Paint splatters and silver dots along with the title add the finishing touches.

That's all for now!

I hope you'll join our 'Yuletide Dreams' challenge where the winner will get a $25 shopping spree at the Gecko Galz shop.

The only rule is that you must use at least one Gecko Galz product (this can be one of the freebies or, of course, you can buy at the Etsy store!) Also if you sign up for the Gecko Galz newsletter, you'll be able to claim a free collage sheet each month.

Please pop over to the Gecko Galz blog to see the fabulous designs by the very talented DT.

We also have a friendly Facebook Group where there are 4 monthly challenges, each with a bespoke digital prize.
Do come and join us!

I'll be back in the New Year, on New Year's Day, with more Gecko Galz projects.

Dreams of the Beach

Hello!

Here is a simple layered card for the Geko Galz July Facebook Challenge.
The theme is Dreams of the Beach.

The image is from the Geko Galz 'By the Shore' collage sheet and the papers are from the  La Isla Bonita paper pack. I used the Tropical Flowers and Sunset Beach papers printed to A6 size.
The gorgeous image had its edge inked with Memento Danube Blue and was then mounted on back card to make the colours pop. A pierced rectangle die was used to cut the frame from Tropical Flowers which again was matted on black card. This made up the card topper.
The background is Sunset Beach matted onto black card.  The card topper was attached on foam pads.
I liked how the card looked at this stage, but decided to add some embellishments.
Flowers were attached to the top corners of the image and a wooden word embellishment was inked and heat embossed with holographic glitter powder.
I think I preferred the simple, un-embellished version. What about you?

Thanks for stopping by!

xoxo

Silver Moonbeams

Hello

Here is a card I made for a Silver Wedding Anniversary.

The image is from Gecko Galz, from a collage sheet called Moonbeams. I framed it in pink glitter card and matted it onto a black, die-cut, stitched rectangle.
I used black card as the background and added a Spellbinders Shapeabilities ornate frame called 'Floral Affair' in silver. This die cuts and embosses. The image was added on top of the frame, at a slight angle, on foam pads. Punched hearts were added to the corners and a Tattered Lace 'Blossoms' die-cut flower was created in pink, silver and black. A Papermania tag sentiment finished it off.

The inside was lined in pink paper. A black border was die cut with a border punch for the edge of the card. Hearts were added in diagonally opposite corners and a computer generated verse was printed, die cut and attached.

Thanks for stopping by!

Fly Me to the Moon

Hello!

Today I'm showing a project that I made for the Gecko Galz Facebook Group.

The theme is Celestial.

I used Gecko Galz La Isla Bonita papers printed out to A6 size, so that none of the details were lost. The swirly one, called Island Waterfall, reminded me of Starry Night by Van Gogh and the circular one, called Tiny Bubbles, is reminiscent of planets.
The images are from Moonbeams and Pixie Dust collage sheets by Gecko Galz. They were printed out, then fussy cut. The moon was heat embossed with clear powder to give it some shine, as was the Tiny Bubbles paper. All images were edged in Vintage Photo ink and attached with foam dots. Silver stars were punched and the words of the song were computer generated, cut out and edged in Danube Blue Memento ink.
The image was mounted onto blue glitter card which was then mounted onto the matted Island Waterfall paper.

Thanks for stopping by!

Masculine Card

I won at Gecko Galz June Challenge with this card.

Hello!

For my masculine card I used leather-look design paper from Paper Journeys for the background.

I matted and layered antique-gold and red card with an image from the fabulous Gecko Galz.

I added a banner along the bottom of the card to hold the Papermania glitter sentiment which was aged with Tim Holtz Antique Photo distress ink.

Die cut borders from antique-gold card were added around the edges and along the banner to add some interest and texture. I also added gold chain-link stickers around the red matting to frame the image.

Gold metal-look gems finish off the card.

Garden of Dreams

The challenge theme at Gecko Galz this month is Garden of Dreams

I was the winner at Gecko Galz's May challenge with this card!

I chose to make this small circular shaped card out of ivory pearlescent card.

The challenge stipulates that you need to use at least one image from Gecko Galz Studios. I used the yellow gowned lady from Pop of Colour and gave her some wings from the Butterfly Wings collection.
The background is ivory card, dry embossed using ink applied with a brayer in a technique I found here.  The embossing folder is X-Cut's Damask background and the ink is Memento Nautical Blue. Unfortunately, I lost some of the embossed surface when I ran the card through the die cutting machine, but the printed patten remained. Note to self: next time die cut the shape before embossing!
The ivory flowers were glued around the image with pearl stamen and iridescent glitter was applied to the edges of the petals. Glitter was also applied to the butterfly wings.
Tiny adhesive pearl dots were  randomly placed on the background and a tiny yellow bow finished it off.

I'm entering this for the following challenges:
