Vintage Birthday

Hello!

I won Top 3 at Dream Valley with this card

For my vintage card I chose a beautiful girl and butterfly image from Gecko Galz.
Butterfly Wings can be found here and the girl was a from the free Gecko Galz subscribers collage sheet for June.
They are attached on foam pads onto Wildflower glitter design paper by TrimCraft.
The butterfly was clear heat embossed to make it shine.

Gorgeous lace was added along the bottom of the card on to which ivory paper roses were adhered along with die cut leaves.

The glitter sentiment from Papermania was inked in vintage photo to age it and finally two pearl hearts were attached.

House Mouse In the Garden

The current challenge at House Mouse has the theme ' In the Garden'.

I am patiently awaiting the delivery of some House Mouse stamps, but as it's getting close to the closing date, I decided to use my one and only HMD stamp once more! It's the lovely little Monica mouse in 'Scent of Lilac' which is so apt at the moment as the lilac trees in my garden are in bud...I can't wait for them to blossom :)

Here is what I made:

I went with a pink lilac theme this time, colouring the stamped image with Spectrum Noir markers. The image was die cut with an Xcut scalloped circle and the background was inked with a blending tool in Memento Rose Bud.

A larger scalloped circle was cut from deeper pink design paper as a mat for the stamped image. I chose embossed dotty card from Jelly Bean Crafts as my background. The matted image was attached to the dotty card on foam pads.

Next I made some flowers from Heartfelt Creations. I stamped Vintage Morning Background in Rose Bud, then used the matching die (Majestic Blooms) to cut out the flowers. These were then shaped and layered, and a pink crystal gem placed in the middle of each one.

Some leaves were die cut from pale green design paper using the Spellbinders Foliage die set. The flowers and leaves were arranged around the matted stamped image. I used tiny foam pads to attach the leaves and glue dots to attach the flowers.

A piece of shocking pink lace (which was gifted to me in happy mail) was attached at the bottom of the dotty card. A glitter sentiment was made into a tag, with ribbon was added. The dotty card was then attached to the card base.

Little Birdhouse

This card helped me to win another Feather in my Cap at Digi Choosday :)

Here is a card I made using a cutting file called Birdhouse 2 card template from Polkadoodles.

I decided to use the birdhouse as part of my card, rather than make a card out of the birdhouse.

The gold cloud glitter card stock by Deco Time was cut to 13 cm x 13 cm. The Polkadoodles birdhouse was assembled, some parts on foam pads to give dimension, and the edges were inked to add some definition. Leaves were cut from various shades of green card using the Spellbinders Foliage die. They were placed around the birdhouse and pink Santoro roses attached along with some cream pearl stamen for interest. Holographic glitter was applied to the rose petals using a Quickie glue pen. To finish off, a pink satin ribbon was attached to the bottom of the card with a Papermania glitter sentiment which had been inked in Rose Bud Memento ink. Finally, the card was attached to the card base.

Let's Play: Show neglected art supplies some love.

Caroline Dube at A Colorful Journey has a new monthly challenge called Let's Play.  February's challenge is to show some neglected art supplies some love and see what you can create.

I've had a chipboard wall plaque and some unused crackle glaze for a long, long time and so decided it was time to try to create something with them.  Here is what I made:

Chipboard plaque: first coated with gesso, then modelling paste applied through a Kaisercraft stencil  called 'Damask'. Painted with pale grey acrylic paint, then Inka Gold 'Rose Quartz' wax added to  bring out the relief of the design.

'Home' word: This chipboard piece was a gift from a friend in a swap - her clever husband cuts the pieces himself.  It was painted white, crackle glaze applied, then, when that was dry, lush pink paint applied on top which cracked to give this finish. Since this was the first time I've used crackle glaze, I was quite pleased with the result :)  The word's edges were inked in Ranger  jet black archival ink.

Flower cluster: Flowers made from white card, die cut with Spellbinders 'Spiral Blossom One' die and edges inked with Prima Chalk Edger in Old Rose. Leaves also die cut from Spellbinders 'Foliage' dies  and coloured with Tim Holtz distress inks (Crushed Olive and Vintage Photo) and water, then shaped. Arranged with pearl stamen accents and shop bought cream roses.

Heart, butterfly and bird: all are chipboard pieces, either painted, inked or waxed and with edges inked. Tiny black crystal for bird's eye.
Thanks for looking!
