Path of Positivity: Field Mice

Hello

Welcome to the May Path of Positivity Challenge.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme.

This month's option is to design a project that is inspired by nature.

Honours and Prizes include:

  • $6 worth of images from Scribbles Designs, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • A badge for the following honours: Top PickVoter's ChoiceMost InspirationalRandom WinnerDT Delight.

I decided to make a stamped scene with  a wild flower meadow and a couple of playful field mice.

I used Lavinia stamps and Versafine Clair coloured inks for the stamping. I added some graphite ink around the edges and at the base of the background so that the heat embossed Summer Flowers and Mystic Swirls would stand out more.. The background is mica sprays which have a gorgeous shimmer. The sentiment is a Tom Holts sticker.
Here is a close up:

That's all for now.
We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!
The link up is here: Challenge #112 Path of Positivity.

That's all for today!
Many thanks to Scribbles Designs for sponsoring the challenge.

I'll be back with a another Path of Positivity project in a couple of weeks time.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Vera Lane Studio: Capricorn

Hello

It is my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and today I am sharing my final zodiac tag.

It's Miss Capricorn's turn and she is a such a sweetheart.

She is coloured with Copics and pencils and fussy cut. I added foam tape and popped her on the inky tag with torn Power Words washi tape (by Bipasha from AALL & Create) for grounding. The tag was spritzed with mica spays and the green has a beautiful copper shimmer. I heat embossed in white and stamped in black using the Scripted Hearts stamp, also from AALL & Create.
Here is a closer look at little Miss Capricorn:

* Vera Lane Studio: Happy Boo Day

 Hello

It's the last day of October and Halloween

(and in the UK we've entered what I like to call 'The Twilight Zone' where our clocks have gone back and now it's hardly ever light)

It's my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and I made a couple of ATCs with a Halloween theme:

The first one feature the indomitable Miss Dee character in her Halloween costume.
Her background is Oxide inks and mica sprays with a heat embossed cob web or two. I masked off a circle for the moon and added some pastel pencils and a little glitter. I love Miss Dee's scaredy cat!

The second ATC features Broom Rides and I adore this cute little witch!
Her background is made with Brusho powders spritzed with water. The images are coloured with Copics and Polychromo pencils,

Vampire Dee                                     Broom Rides

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Path of Positivity: Be Grateful

Hello!

Today is the start of a new Path of Positivity challenge.
The challenge lasts for the month of November.

This month the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of
Be Grateful.

We have no sponsor this month and in the spirit of being GRATEFUL for what we have in our lives already, it will just be for fun!

There is such a lot to be grateful for, but let's start with everyday life itself. Recently I've seen a couple of posts on social media which made me stop and think, and I'd like to share them here:

So, even if we don't think we have a lot, and that is usually measured in material goods, we are rich in many ways.
I am grateful for my health, the job that I had and the home that I live in. I am grateful that my parents encouraged me to achieve academically and creatively. I am grateful that I look on the positive side and can help others.

My project this week uses some new-to-me products - Tim Holtz Christmas mica sprays and a Lynne Perrella stamp.  My sentiment is one that I do try to live by. Giving is so easy to do - it could simply be a smile, a helping hand or something physical. It doesn't have to be a momentous gesture, just an act of kindness and thoughtfulness.

Here is my project:

I coloured the images (from PaperArtsy set LP049) with Inktense Watercolour pencils and made the background with mica sprays and TH mixed media background stamps.
The sentiment is a Small Talk sticker.
I love the shimmer of the mica sprays!

That's all for now.
We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!

Cat Lovers Hop Day 3

  Hello

Welcome to Day 3 of the Cat Lovers Hop 2021.

Another big hello to all my furry, feline-loving friends!
A huge hello, too, to my newest follower, Sue WinterfordI am so pleased you are here!

The Cat Lovers Hop is an annual event hosted by the lovely Janis over on her blog at Her Peaceful Garden.
If you like cats pop over and have a look at the fun games and awesome prizes that Janis has organised for the next few days.

Today I have a decoupaged card using digital collage sheets from Maremi Small Art called '10 The Gang'. The cats' faces, bodies and accessories all come as separate images ready for you to create your own custom cats.
She has dogs and people paper dolls too and all very reasonably priced.

Aren't they the sweetest thing you've ever seen?

So simple to create - simply download the digital papers, fussy cut (or use a machine if you're lucky enough to have one!), ink the edges, then get mixing and matching. They are fabulous and fun - paper dolls, but cats!
I decided to make a card with mine, but they are perfect for journal pages too.
I stamped the frame using a very old Gorjuss stamp set, then I lightly spritzed some Juniper Mica Spray onto acetate and used the acetate to place the colour where I wanted it. I used a water brush and the same spray ink to colour the frame. I arranged my little family and popped them on foam for some dimension. The sentiment is stamped with a lovely little sentiment stamp that I got free with a purchase from Lawn Fawn.

Look at those faces.... I am in love!

That's all for now.

Thanks for stopping by today.
xoxo
