It's my DT day today, so here is what I made:

A set of fun tags made from a die cut rectangle of kraft card.
I inked the edges with Vintage Photo ink and added Oriental backgrounds (digitally enlarged) from the Ancient Splendour Domino collage sheet. I distressed the edges of the background images and chose some fun images from the Far East Fun Digital Kit and fussy cut them. Some ivory lace and some natural trim were added along with a shop bought flower from Little Birdie Crafts. I used a crop-a-dile to make a hole and add an eyelet then threaded twine through.

I made a couple of cards:

These just use paper from the Asian Botanicals paper pack - no embellishments at all - and they are, I think, beautiful. I simply matted the paper onto red and then black card and popped them onto a white card base.
Then, I decided to add a couple of fussy cut images, one freom the Ancient Splendour Domino collage sheet and one from the Far East Fun Digital Kit:

I also made a couple of cards using the stunning Asian Doll images using traditional Japanese hand made Yuzen paper.

I used black card to mat the images and the paper and it really makes the colours pop. I added glossy butterflies and a black and gold sentiment.

Path of Positivity: Be Happy (Mood Board)

Hello

Welcome to the March Path of Positivity Challenge.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme.

This month's option is to design a project that is inspired by this mood board.

Honours and Prizes include:

  • $6 worth of images from Scribbles Designs, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • A badge for the following honours: Top PickVoter's ChoiceMost InspirationalRandom WinnerDT Delight.

I was inspired by the geometric patterns in neutral shades of grey, the lacy texture and the floral elements. I chose kraft card for accents based upon the taupe colours in the swatch.
Here is my project:

I used a stencil and 3 shades of Distress Oxide to make the background: Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke and Weathered Wood. In retrospect I could have gone a little darker with the ink blending. I die cut a lacy kraft card border to tuck my florals behind. The florals are from a Sizzix die set. I coloured the card first, then die cut and added splatters with white paint. I kept the sentiment simple, using a Tim Holtz sticker sentiment from the Small Talk pad.

That's all for now.
We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!
The link up is here: Challenge #110 Path of Positivity.

That's all for today!
Many thanks to Scribbles Designs for sponsoring the challenge.

I'll be back with a another Path of Positivity project in a couple of weeks time.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Vera Lane Studio: Sweet Life

Hello

Welcome to two new followers - Pam Tiedtke and Margreet Burger. Thank you for having interest in my blog :)

It's Monday and my DT day at Vera Lane Studio
Today there is a new digi set release called Sweet Life. It features two girl digis and two sentiments and is perfect for occasion cards and journal pages.

I made a small card and a decorated box of chocolates:

My digis are coloured with Copic markers and the background is a gelli print made with acrylic paints and a stencil.
I deconstructed a jumbo match box so that I could put an acetate window in the front and cover with the patterned card.

The chocolates are some of my favourites, a brand called Lily O'Brien's ...

Sweet Life

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Vera Lane Studio: Cookies and Milk

Hello

It's Monday and my DT day at Vera Lane Studio
Today I have a project featuring Cookies and Milk which was released a few weeks ago.

She's such a cutie!
I coloured the images with Copic markers and fussy cut them. The background was first stamped with "Numerator" and Distress Oxides in various shades of pink and mauve, then smooshed through puddles of oxide inks. I added some white heat embossing using an AALL & Create Stamp called "Toxic Warning" - I love the caution, danger and warning signs. I added some text stamping around the edges as well as a doodled border.
I grounded my character on washi tape with my favourite Vera's Border on top.

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Vera Lane Studio: Sweet on You

Hello

Happy New Year

It's my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and we have a new digi set release, the first of many for 2023. It's called Sweet on You and is perfect for Valentines, Engagements and Anniversaries.

I made a card and a couple of ATC Coins:

I love these tiny characters!

I coloured them with Copic markers and fussy cut them.

The card background is smooshed Distress Oxide with stencilled crackle paste and stamping using AALL & Create products. White splatters were applied and the edges inked in black, then matted onto black card.

Here is a close up of the cuties:

The ATCs also have a Distress Oxide smooshed background, this time with stamping and heat embossing. I used one of Vera's Borders for grounding the characters.
