Conjurer of Dreams: Steam Queens

 Hello

Today I'm sharing some projects I made using Conjurer of Dreams images. I hope you'll pop over to the store and take a look at the Digital Art on sale for collage, scrapbooks, journals, cards and more.

We have an open, worldwide challenge at the Conjurer of Dreams Blog.
The challenge theme is always 'Anything Goes' and this month we have a twist of 'Steam Queens'.
We hope you'll share your projects with us.

We also have a friendly Facebook Group where we would love for you to share your Conjurer of Dream projects.

Here are my DT makes:

A Trinket Box:

I took a small wooden trinket box and removed the hinges. I used an ALL & Create Stencil (#71 'Steam Cogs') to add texture paste all over the outside edges. When this was dry, I coloured with oxide inks and gold and copper waxes.
I lightly coloured the lid with the waxes then adhered the Steampunk Forest Creatures. I created some paper-clay rope edgings in moulds, then added gilding wax and made a frame around the images.

AN Altered Notebook:

I love small spiral bound Kraft notebooks and very often alter the covers. Here I added one of the Steampunk Lass images. I coated the image with Distress Glaze, so it becomes waterproof(it also enhances the colours) I die cut some Steampunk cogs (Sizzix) from Kraft card and added oxide inks and embossing glazes in several colours. These were added to the image along with Idea-ology letter stickers to form the words 'Steam Queen'. I added Glossy Accents to the words and to the lass's goggles and dials.

***
A set of Steam Cards:

I used the AALL & Create stencil to emboss a piece of Kraft card, simply by running the stencil and the card through my die cutting machine. The raised areas then captured the inks that I swiped across the card. I chose images from Steampunk Scenes, matted them onto Kraft card and distressed the edges. I added small Idea-ology sticker sentiments.

And lastly some digital art pieces:

Here is what I made - first up is a cowgirl Pocket Letter made up of 9 ATCs:

I haven't made a pocket letter in quite a few years - at one time I used to trade them on a regular basis and I really enjoyed the process. Looking for something else, I came across a folder full of the clear plastic, pocket letter sheets and that's what inspired me to make one.
Here I used kraft card as my ATC base and adhered a rectangle of wood-look patterned paper (from my stash) which had all four edges distressed.
A few collage sheets were used for the cowgirl images - I chose the larger head shot ones and had some of my girls leaning outside the frames.

The denim frames and pocket are from the Ride 'Em Cowgirl Kit. I love the stitched frames and the stars. I made the denim pocket (below) into a shaker ATC.

* Conjurer of Dreams: Winter Critters

Hello

Today I'm sharing some projects I made using Conjurer of Dreams images. I hope you'll pop over to the store and take a look at the Digital Art on sale for collage, scrapbooks, journals, cards and more.

We have a new, open, worldwide challenge at the Conjurer of Dreams Blog.
The challenge theme is always 'Anything Goes', and this month's optional theme is
'Winter Critters'.
We hope you'll share your projects with us.

We also have a friendly Facebook Group where we would love for you to share your Conjurer of Dream projects.

Here are my DT makes:

My first card uses the Skating Penguins, with their skates cut away, and a snowman from the Snowman Build set. I made an inky sky by blending Distress Oxide inks and using a circle mask for the sun. I die cut some snow mounds from white card. I used a Sizzix die to cut the trees from Distress Oxide coloured card. White paint splatters provide the snow.

Next a simple layered Christmas card:

I used an image from the Snowman Build set for this one, The image has an extra, fussy cut critter added to it from the same set. White die cut embellishments and Snowflakes embossed and cut with a TH Impresslit.
***

A pair of ATCs:

I made these ATCs with the Winter Pines background set. I added snow splatters and clear Wink of Stella for some shimmer. I fussy cut two of the Festive Steampunk Polar Bears and added them on foam tape. I edged the backgrounds with silver paint and matted them onto black card.
These will make 2 card toppers if I need extra ones this season.

***

An altered notebook cover:

I painted my Kraft notebook with Dina Wakley black paint. I used alcohol inks and Yupo paper to make the colourful background. I never seem to get this technique right and find it extremely messy, so I want to tidy up and put everything away before I've given it a real chance. Anyhow, I was quite pleased with this one. I added a Wandering Wolf image to a black die cut mat and adhered it to the Yupo paper. Die cut borders were adhere to the top and bottom edges and metal looking embellishment were added to the left and right edges. I used alpha stickers for the 'notes'. It's really bright and colourful in real life.

It's my DT day today, so here is what I made:

Fist up is a shaker card. I used one of the beautiful images from the Stay Wild Moon Child collage set and make a shaker frame by cutting out die frames and adhering them together. I added midnight blue, gold and orange sequins as the shaker element.
The background was finger painted with acrylic paints from PaperArtsy, then splattered with white and gold paint. The flowers and foliage were die cut from painted card.

Next I made a triple diamond point card.
Here is the stood up view:

I used another beautiful image from the Stay Wild Moon Child collage set and cut it with a circular die. I matted it on a die cut, white, scalloped circle. I chose paper  from my stash to match the colours in the image.
Lying down view:

I made die cut flowers and leaves as embellishment:

I made a very simple notecard, just using the gorgeous image from Stay Wild Moon Child and adding mats in gold and teal.

An altered spiral bound notebook - my favourite kind!

First, I coated the kraft, hard backed, cover in Inky Pool acrylic paint. When it was thoroughly dry, I splattered some white paint and added silver embossing powder around the edges. I made an inky background with Distress Oxides. I decided to give this (and the image) a coat of Distress Glaze to seal the surface so it wouldn't  react with any water. The image is from Stay Wild Moon Child. I added some silver metallic looking gems to frame the image and added a moon charm.

Moving along with the Times #170 Not a Card 29/09 TOP 5

I also made a tri-fold shutter mini book which you can read about HERE.
