* Start Doing What You Love

Hello

I love this little girl. She's a collage image by Art by Marlene.

I made a postcard for my journal. The background started as a stamped stencil image. I then added crackle texture paste through a heart stencil and when dry used Oxide re-inkers to drip colour from top to bottom of the page. I added some tone on tone texture stamping and some black stamping around the edges. Gold wax was added to the hearts and they were outlined with gold Posca pen and Charcoal watercolour pencil. Gold acrylic paint was added around the edges of the page. Washi tape acts as grounding for the collage image.

I love the effect of crackle paste ...

* Wild Hares in the Snow

Hello

A warm welcome to my newest follower, Grasiela Santos. Thank you for showing interest in my blog.

I had a little time today, so I decided to have a play with some ink and new stamps.

Here is the card I made:

I masked off an area for the ground with a piece of torn paper and adhered a circle mask for the moon. Then I blended Distress Oxides to make a night sky. I coloured the moon and stamped the shadows using the Moonscape stamp and stencil set from Inkylicious. With the ground mask still in place I stamped the trees (Fairy Fir Tree from Lavinia). Some snow banks were made by lightly inking along torn paper and the Lavinia Wild Hares were stamped. I framed the bottom part of the scene with Inkylicious Bare Branches . I added some white paint splatters and used a silver, glitter, gel pen to outline the moon, trees, bunnies and snow mounds.

* Vera Lane Studio: New Puppy

Hello

Let me please welcome two new followers, Sue Kimmet and Gabriele Patton. Thank you ladies for showing interest in my blog!

Today is my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and I have used a set that was released a few weeks ago, but I didn't get around to using it until now. The set is New Puppy and Janet made this digi set to commemorate the arrival of her new puppy, Olive.

I coloured the image with Copic markers and added Polychromo pencil on top. The background was one I already had in my box, made using an AALL & Create heart stencil and PaperArtsy Infusions with some Brusho Gold added in. I added gold and white splatters, some heart stamping around the edges and a hand drawn border. I used a torn piece of AALL & Create washi tape as grounding then cut the sentiment into strips and adhered them directly onto the background.

* Gecko Galz: Buddha Notebook

Hello

At Gecko Galz this January, we're having a busy month.

All month long, until the 29th, we have the blog customer challenge and the theme is

Pre-Raphaelite Dreams.

We also have the monthly Image Challenge and the monthly Christmas Image Challenge, as well as 4 Facebook challenges.

For my DT day at Gecko Galz I decided to make an altered notebook to keep all my DT information together. I chose an image from the Beautiful Buddha collage sheet.

I distressed the edges of the Buddha image and layered it onto papers from the Winter Palace ATC set. I added lacy die cut borders made from kraft card to match the hard cover of the notebook, inking the edges with Vintage Photo ink. I embellished the Buddha with tiny gemstones and Stickles. I found some lovely natural coloured flower trim in my lace collection and added this to the base of the panel, adding a gemstone on the centre of each flower. Tim Holtz 'Small Talk' stickers with inspirational words were inked and added along the dark blue mat layer. To finish I added strings of gold flat-backed beads that have a metallic lustre.

* Vera Lane Studio: Everyday Mindfulness

Hello

I have an art journal page to share today. Vera Lane Studio has a new digi set release today called Everyday Mindfulness It has a chair, a cute girl enjoying a relaxing cuppa, a small and a large cushion and two sentiments.

I decided to make my page with two chairs and I added a cute little dog from an old digi set called February (available on request) to the second chair. The images were coloured with Copic markers and I tried to make the chair look as if it is made with texture fabric. The background is a gelli print using airylic paints and a stencil and then overstamped with Janet's AALL & Create background stamps. Paint splatters in blue and white were added from Posca pens. Janet's Beachrock washi tape was torn to act as grounding and some pieces were adhered around the border..

* Vera Lane Studio: Van Gogh

Hello

Firstly, let me say a big hello to my new follower, Audrey Ernst. Thank you for showing an interest in my blog.

Today is my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and I have a journal page featuring my all time favourite artist, Van Gogh.

This digi stamp set was released a while ago, but this is the first time I have used it.

I coloured the images with Copic markers and fussy cut them. I added a starry sky background behind the window to make it appear that Van Gogh is inside his house at night time. His walls are decorated with yellow flowers using Janet's AALL & Create stencil, #96 Dandelion Field, inked up with Distress Oxides and spritzed with water. I added some stamping, using #338 Background Noise, in Fossilised Amber and black around the edges.
