Conjurer of Dreams: Retro Beach ATCs

Hello

At the Conjurer of Dreams blog there are several challenges.
Some of the challenges provide an image to work with.
The ATC Challenge this month is Retro Beach themed and Kim, the owner, has provided an ATC sheet.

This is what I made:

I made stencil stamped backgrounds using an AALL & Create stencil and distress oxide inks. I added the beach and sea backgrounds, fussy cut the images and adhered them in place. I printed some sentiments. I outlined the sentiments and made a scribble border around the edges of each ATC. I added some turquoise coloured trim and some glitter to the sand and sea.

Hope you'll pop over to collect the sheet and join our ATC challenge.

Conjurer of Dreams: Ice Queens

Hello

At the Conjurer of Dreams Challenge Blog we have a new monthly challenge, in addition to the main challenge.

Kim gives away free images on each of the DT's blog posts, so we decided that we could make a challenge from using these free images.

This month, February,  you can use ANY FREE IMAGE from last month (that's where these Ice Queens are from) and also from this month.

Here is what I made with 3 of January's free images:

It is a set of ATC cards.
I made the backgrounds by smooshing, dipping and dabbing 2.5 x 3.5 inch cards in puddles of Faded Jeans Distress Ink. I then added some white heat embossing using stamped tiny hearts. The images were fussy cut, the edges inked and adhered to the card bases.

Next I heat embossed all around the edges of the cards by swiping the edges through a Versafine ink pad and pushing the card edge into a little pile of white embossing powder - this gives a thicker, more enamelled appearance..

Finally I found some sentiments in one of my Tim Holtz Small Talk sticker books. As they are going on ATCs, I trimmed them down a little, then cut them into strips. Once adhered and dry, I went around the sentiments with a Uniball Eye fine pen.

Here's a final look:

That's all for now.

We hope you'll come and join our challenges:
Facebook Group for more challenges and free images.

I'd like to enter these challenges:

It's my DT day today, at Gecko Galz and here are my makes..

First is a set of ATCs:

I used the Nosferatu ATCs as backgrounds and images from the Day of the Dead card toppers.

I attached the fussy cut image through a cut in the window background. The stained glass has Glossy Accents added, so that it looks like a jewel. The image is on foam tape for dimension. A lacy die cut border was adhered at the base of each card and a row of black gems applied to the top of each card.

I fussy cut a sentiment from Words in the Dark into three parts and tucked it into the lacy die border.

And here is one of the ATCs just placed on a die cut frame to show that each one would make a lovely greeting card.

Next I have an altered tin:

I used the Gothic Beauties Tin Toppers.
This is the front of the tin, nothing fancy, just the image:

And the interior:

And this is what I'll be storing inside it. My collection of Halloween charm:

Really, I'm not that into dark and dramatic, and I can't resist googly eyes - I thought they looked charming on the skellies:

Here I have one of the Dark Library images along with a Victorian Gothic Lady. The  sentiment is from the Words in the Dark collage sheet.

And this one is an older collage sheet image with skulls and roses from the Gothic Beauties tin toppers.

Conjurer of Dreams: It's About Time

 Hello

Today I'm sharing some projects I made using Conjurer of Dreams images. I hope you'll pop over to the store and take a look at the Digital Art on sale for collage, scrapbooks, journals, cards and more.

The challenge theme this month is It's About Time.

Here is what I made.

A pair of cards

The beautiful backgrounds are from the Blue Space set and the butterflies are from the Bohemian Butterfly set. I printed onto glossy photo paper. The fussy cut butterflies were shaped and glittered and their wings float freely from the card.

Crafty Gals Corner #253 AG 09/04
Triple B Challenge April 24 30/04
Daisy Chain Challenge #84 Not Square 30/04

A set of ATCs:

I used the Timeless background set and added the Victorian Butterfly Girls on foam tape for dimension. Beneath each girl is some textured trim. I also added some tiny butterflies from the Bohemian Butterfly set. The 'time' sentiments were typed and printed, then cut into strips.

I decided to add the ATCs to a Distress Oxide backgrounds and popped them on a navy blue card to make cute notecards:

A Perfect Time to Craft April AG 28/04

A decorated gift box:

For this I salvaged a beautiful gold coloured chocolate box and simply printed my favourite Bohemian Butterfly image twice. One image was distressed around the edges and adhered to the top of the box with gold die cut borders placed around the edges.. The second image was fussy cut and adhered in the middle, leaving the butterfly wings free. I added Glossy Accents to the body of the butterfly.

Vera Lane Studio: Tiny Aliens

Hello

It's Monday and my Vera Lane Studio DT day.

Today at Vera Lane Studio we have a new digi set release. The set is called called Tiny Aliens and features four cute, squishy aliens and two sentiments

Here is my project:

I coloured the images with Copics, using the Blender marker to bleach out spots of colour. I fussy cut them. The galaxy sky background was made by smooshing card in puddles of Distress Oxide, then splattering gold and white acrylic paint all over. I added some white script embossing and some black stamping. For the planet, I die cut a circle, heat embossed some swirls in white and coloured with Oxides in greys. Once everything was glued in place I added some gold acrylic paint around the edges.

Tiny Aliens

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Crafts Galore Encore: Little Birdie ATCs

Hello
Happy September :)

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore.

The theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter up to 3 different projects.  The challenge runs all month until mid day (GMT) 29th September.

This month's challenge is kindly sponsored by Tracey-Lynn from Fred She Said.

I used three sets of pre-coloured digis. Backdrops for Flowers or Butterflies, Winter Birds and the Dogwood Branch, to make a set of ATCs:

I printed out the backgrounds and elements I needed several times, making some smaller and others larger. The backgrounds were distressed around the edges with scissors, then slightly inked and lots of white splatters were applied.
I fussy cut the birds and dogwood branches and inked them lightly around the edges to disguise any white paper. I added some sisal, some gild mesh trim and a tiny amount of florist's moss to act as a base for the birdies. The birds were popped on foam tape to add dimension.
Sticker sentiments were adhered and each background was matted onto a black base.

That's all for now.

Many thanks to Tracey-Lynn from Fred She Said for her generous prize for our random winner.

Please pop over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs and to enter our challenge.

We'd love to see your creations.
Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card and you can enter up to 3 times.

Thanks for stopping by today!
