Gecko Galz: Tags of Christmas

Gecko Galz

Tag of the Day

I layered red, white glitter card and turquoise satin card for the tag, putting an eyelet through the top and red gingham ribbon.

White Frontage was scattered and heat embossed to replicate snow along with some 3D snowflake stickers. The retro snow lady is from the Christmas Beauties collage set, she was partly fussy cut and popped in a corner.

Thank you for stopping by today.

CoD Lavender Fairy

Hello

At the Conjurer of Dreams blog there are several challenges.
Some of the challenges provide an image to work with.
The Tag Challenge this month has a beautiful Lavender Fairy image to use.

This is what I made:

I die cut the fairy image using a set of nesting dies from Crea-nest-lies. I also cut a piece of kraft card using the next size up. The image was adhered and some glitter applied to her wings. I die cut a Sizzix lacy border from distress oxide coloured card and die cut some wild flowers, then dipped them into puddles of oxide inks. Some paint splatters were applied all over (I forgot to cover up her face). I found an adhesive 3D butterfly that sits perfectly on top of the flowers and I added the sentiment and ribbon through a crop-o-dile tag hole.

Here's a close up:

Hope you'll pop over to collect the image and join our tag challenge.

* Gecko Galz: Yuletide Wishes

Hello

This month the main customer challenge over on the Gecko Galz blog is Yuletide Dreams.

As always, we also have free images to download to make projects to enter the Card challengethe Christmas Image Challenge, the Fantasy Challenge, an ATC challenge, a Steampunk challenge and a Gothic Challenge,. The free images can be accessed by the tabs at the top of the main blog pageWe also have a quarterly challenge. on the blog.

If that isn't enough challenges, we also have 4 Facebook challenges each month.
We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

The winner of the Customer challenge will get a $25 Gecko Galz Etsy Store voucher and the runner up a $12 voucher. There are plenty of free Gecko Galz images if you don't already own any. Each blog post has a free image to collect and, if you sign up for the monthly newsletter, there is the chance to claim a free collage set each month.  Also if you make any purchase of $2 or more you receive a free image.

A Pyramid Card:

I used red card to make the base of the pyramid card and paper from my stash for the background. The beautiful image is from a set I received as a prize. I die cut it and matted it onto a red scalloped circle. I made some holly leaves and berries with a tiny tag to say 'joy' as embellishments. The back of the pyramid closes with a self adhesive hook and loop dot and it folds flat-ish (the holly adds dimension on mine) for mailing.

A Tri-fold Card:

My tri-fold card features two images from the newly released Yuletide Magic Card Toppers.
I made the card base from pearlised ivory card which is double sided and so the back looks pretty too. I used some festive paper from my own stash. All papers and images were heat embossed in gold along their edges, then matted onto gold card. I die cut the sentiments from gold card and placed them over the images.
The three side panels have Sizzix die cut sentiments saying love, hope and joy.

 Nutcracker Card:

This dimensional card features a beautiful Nutcracker from one of last month's free with purchase sheets. The paper is from my stash and the bauble was found online. The sentiment is die cut. The Nutcracker topper and the bauble are on foam tape and the sentiment was cut 3 times and adhered. Two poinsettias from an extra bauble were added to the top of the sentiment.

I made the die cut flowers and foliage from silver speckled card and silver card. The flowers have a gem stone centre.

I used a Sizzix die to cut the medium sized tags and I used left over scraps of patterned paper for the backing. The edges were inked in Vintage Photo. I added red velvet trim along the seam joining the papers. The little girl is from a set called Winter Cuties which I received as a prize/gift for commenting on the blog posts - so kind of Leanne to do this. She is mounted on a fancy edged die cut circle. Her poinsettia is die cut and heat embossed with Crackling Campfire Glaze and I used a brad for the centre.
The Nutcracker below was from one of the free with purchase sheets from November 2024. He is die cut and matted on red and gold card with a die cut sentiment.

The Stained Glass Christmas Tree image is this months first tag challenge image at the Conjurer of Dreams Facebook Group. It is FREE, along with several other gorgeous images in the Facebook Conjurer of Dreams Inspiration Group.

I used a set of tag dies to cut the image, a gold mat and the red tag. I added a fussy cut Victorian Mouse, from one of last winter's image sets. I added ribbon through the top of the tag and placed a heat glazed red flower and berries at the apex of the image.

Conjurer of Dreams: Fall Friend Tag

 Hello

Today I'm sharing a tag that I made using Conjurer of Dreams images. I hope you'll pop over to the store and take a look at the Digital Art on sale for collage, scrapbooks, journals, cards and more.

This week in the Facebook Group we are celebrating the first anniversary of Conjurer of Dreams and we are having a week of sales, activities and prizes.
Todays activity was to make a tag with the theme 'Fall Friend'

Here is my tag:

I die cut a tag from black card and added one of the Wrought Iron Gate images. I fussy cut around the kangaroo Yarn Animal (available on request), popped him on foam tape and adhered him to the tag with some gold mesh trim beneath. I added some glossy accents to his eyes and a gem to his jumper. I then added some autumn coloured, die cut leaves to the top and bottom of the tag and threaded ribbon through the eyelet.

* Gecko Galz: Bejewelled Tag

 Hello

Every month over at the Gecko Galz blog we have six monthly free image challenges which an be accessed by the tabs at the top of the main blog page and you are able to download the FREE image there.

We also have the main blog challenge, posted on the first day of each month), a quarterly challenge. and 4 Facebook challenges.

A new challenge has recently started on the Gecko Galz Facebook Business Page. This is a tag challenge and a new free image is given each month. This month it is a gorgeous, mysterious girl and, as the weather has turned dismal today, I thought I'd have a go with this month's free tag image.

Here is what I made:

I die cut the largest tag, using  kraft card, from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Tag Collection die set. I adhered black mesh trim over the entire tag as this mimics the webbing on the girl's skin. Next I added gold mesh down the centre of the tag. The image was printed, distressed along all edges and 2 die cut, crochet lace edges (Sizzix die) were attached to the sides. I added circle dot trim to the top and bottom edges of the photo then glued on turquoise gems. The whole image piece was adhered on foam for dimension and I added some light taupe, scalloped lace trim below the top and bottom of the raised image. An eyelet was placed over the tag hole and some black mesh threaded through. Three larger gems were randomly added to the background and some Crystal Stickles added to the girl's eyelids, lips and rings.

We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

Here is what I made as inspiration for the Customer Challenge.
It's a Mini Pocket Tag Booklet:

The images are all from Gecko Galz. I used Blooming Ladies,
Floral Tea (one of last month's 'free with purchase' collage sheet), the tea cup collage set from April 2024's monthly kit called Douces Fleurs Du Printemps (not in the shop just yet) and sentiments from Garden Sentiments.

The front of the booklet:

The back of the booklet:

And the booklet opened up:

I made the booklet with white card, then added the brayered acrylic painted backgrounds which were heat embossed in white using a Tim Holtz floral background stamp. The edges of the pages were inked. The inside pages form three pockets for the tags to be tucked inside. The tags have paint splatters and flower images.
