* Heart's Quest Fantasy: Baby Griffin

Hello

I am delighted to have been invited to guest design for the

Heart's Quest Fantasy Challenge Blog.

The Heart's West Fantasy Challenge is an open fantasy, mythical or mythical creatures themed challenge blog..

This month the theme is AG Fantasy (see blog for what counts), with the option of Griffins.

Now I searched and searched, but didn't have any images of Griffins, so I decided to let AI create one for me using Bing Image Creator. I didn't like a lot of them, but the two that I did like, I've added below. Please feel free to download them if you wish.

Here is my card featuring a baby griffin in fantasy colours:

I decided to make a shaker card, so I die cut the printed image and with the same set of dies I made 6 frames out of thick,  teal card. I glued the frames together and placed on top of the image with sequins. I die cut a frame from patterned paper and adhered acetate to the back. This was then glued onto the top of the frame to seal the shaker element. The background paper is from an old paper pack and is glittered.
I added a band of patterned paper matted onto teal card with the hand stamped sentiment 'Happy Birthday'.

It's my DT day today, so here is what I made:

Fist up is a shaker card. I used one of the beautiful images from the Stay Wild Moon Child collage set and make a shaker frame by cutting out die frames and adhering them together. I added midnight blue, gold and orange sequins as the shaker element.
The background was finger painted with acrylic paints from PaperArtsy, then splattered with white and gold paint. The flowers and foliage were die cut from painted card.

Next I made a triple diamond point card.
Here is the stood up view:

I used another beautiful image from the Stay Wild Moon Child collage set and cut it with a circular die. I matted it on a die cut, white, scalloped circle. I chose paper  from my stash to match the colours in the image.

I made die cut flowers and leaves as embellishment:

I made a very simple notecard, just using the gorgeous image from Stay Wild Moon Child and adding mats in gold and teal.

An altered spiral bound notebook - my favourite kind!

First, I coated the kraft, hard backed, cover in Inky Pool acrylic paint. When it was thoroughly dry, I splattered some white paint and added silver embossing powder around the edges. I made an inky background with Distress Oxides. I decided to give this (and the image) a coat of Distress Glaze to seal the surface so it wouldn't  react with any water. The image is from Stay Wild Moon Child. I added some silver metallic looking gems to frame the image and added a moon charm.

I also made a tri-fold shutter mini book which you can read about HERE.

Here is what I made as inspiration for the Customer Challenge
It's a shaker booklet (the instructions are at the bottom of this post)
and my inspiration came from a project made by the lovely
Chrissy from Chrissy Card Land:

I used images from the Fish Camp collage set. I removed the background from some images and digitally combined them before printing out.

Here is the front of the book:
I added oxide coloured, die cut seaweed and some tiny mulberry flowers for decoration.

The first pages:

Second pages:

Third pages:

Step by step process:

1. Cut 4 pieces of card (mine is 10 inches by 5 inches),
finger paint with acrylics,
splatter with silver and white paint
fold in half to make a 5 x 5 inch folder
have the folded edge on the right, die cut a circle from the front of each folder

2. Print your images (making sure they are the right size to fit the aperture)
place in a cellophane bag
add sequins
seal bag

3. Add tape or glue to the back of the cellophane bagged image
adhere to the inside of the folder (make sure the opening is on the left side)

4. Die cut circular borders using 2 dies held together with washi tape
heat emboss with silver glitter powder (or paint)

5. Attach the borders to the front aperture

6. Make the binding accordion from a 5 inch x 3 inch piece of painted card
make 6 scores along the 3 inch edge,  half an inch apart
fold into an accordion and make sharp creases

7. The first piece of the accordion is attached to the inside of your first folder to make the front of the book
(I used glue and bulldog clips, for the first page, but changed to red tape and glue as it is sturdier)

8. Attach the other 3 pages to the binding accordion
clamp the binding together until glue is dry

Conjurer of Dreams: Winter Wonderland

Hello
Happy November :)

Today I'm sharing some projects I made using Conjurer of Dreams images. I hope you'll pop over to the store and take a look at the Digital Art on sale for collage, scrapbooks, journals and cards.

The theme this month is Winter Wonderland.
Here is what I made;

First up is a Christmas shaker card. One of the Winter Pines images is in the background and a Watercolour Snowman is on the frame.

Next, I have a pair of Victorian Mice and, in my mind, they are in church standing in front of a stained glass window. The Winter Stained Glass Windows are stunning. I popped the images on a 3D embossed brick wall, coloured with Distress Oxide inks.

Aren't these dressed mice gorgeous.

I made a 3D framed piece:

Here the Cocoa Share hamsters are in front of a Winter Pine backdrop. The images were fussy cut and layered to make the 3D effect. The frame was painted in white, stamped and heat embossed in silver EP.

A journal page:

I made a smooshed Oxide background and added lots of white splatters. One of the quirky Christmas Portrait images was popped onto a die cut frame. I die cut 2 silver snowflakes, adding a sparkly gem stone at the centre of each.

A Winter Greeting card:

Another smooshed Distress Oxide background with a midnight sky appearance. I added some die cut snowbanks and lots of snow in the form of white paint splatters. The images are from Snowflake Dreams Jars and Watercolour Snowmen. Some glitter snowflake stickers were also added to the night sky and a die cut sentiment.

Crafts Galore Encore: Best Day Ever

 Hello

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore

The theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter up to 3 different projects.  The challenge runs all month until mid day (GMT) 30th March.

This month's challenge is kindly sponsored by Jan from Jan's Digital Store. Jan offered the DT digi stamps to work with and I chose this beautiful heart-shaped flower wreath from the Valentine Wishes set.

Here is my card:

I coloured the image with Copic markers and fussy cut it. I made a stencil monoprint background by stamping with a stencil coated in shades of pink Distress Oxides and spritzed with water. Every print is different with this technique and you never know what you are going to get - I love that! I added some stamping in Victorian Velvet and lots of white and dusky pink splatters.

I made the flower heart into a shaker element, adding raspberry coloured sequins inside. I matted the background onto black card and used a Small Talk sticker as my sentiment.

Many thanks to Jan from Jan's Digital Store for her generous prize for our random winner.

Please pop over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs and to enter our challenge.

We'd love to see your creations.
Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card and you can enter up to 3 times.

Thanks for stopping by today!
xoxo
