Gecko Galz: Star Maidens

Hello

It's a new month and we have a new customer challenge over at the Gecko Galz blog.

The theme this month is Star Maidens.

There is also a give away collage sheet on each DT blog page as we celebrate 'Christmas in July'. You won't want to miss these!

As always, we have free images to download to make projects to enter the Card Challengethe Christmas Image Challenge, the Fantasy Challenge, an ATC challenge, a Steampunk Challenge and a Gothic Challenge,. The free images can be accessed by the tabs at the top of the main blog pageWe also have a quarterly challenge on the blog.

If that isn't enough challenges, we also have Facebook challenges each month.
We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

The winner of the Customer challenge will get a $25 Gecko Galz Etsy Store voucher and the runner up a $12 voucher. There are plenty of free Gecko Galz images if you don't already own any. Each blog post has a free image to collect and, if you sign up for the monthly newsletter, there is the chance to claim a free collage set each month.  Also if you make any purchase of $2 or more you receive a free collage sheet.

Here is what I made as inspiration for the Star Maidens challenge:

All images used are from the Star Maidens Collage set
***

You are Enough Card:
Gold embossing was added along the edges of the papers and image with tiny, flicked, gold paint splatters. Gold thread and stars were wrapped around fingers and placed below the image.

***

Nothing Like a Dream Bookmark:
Gold acrylic paint is finger painted along the edges of the bookmark and along the edges of the image. Lots of gold acrylic paint splatters and a gold ribbon add finishing touches to the bookmark.

***

Shine: Pyramid Card
Three square pieces of white card glued to make the pyramid shape when folded. The card lies flat for mailing and is held open with sticy velcro dots. Tiny gold gems and die cut stars are added as embellishments.

And 2 digital designs:

* Gecko Galz: Yuletide Wishes

Hello

This month the main customer challenge over on the Gecko Galz blog is Yuletide Dreams.

As always, we also have free images to download to make projects to enter the Card challengethe Christmas Image Challenge, the Fantasy Challenge, an ATC challenge, a Steampunk challenge and a Gothic Challenge,. The free images can be accessed by the tabs at the top of the main blog pageWe also have a quarterly challenge. on the blog.

If that isn't enough challenges, we also have 4 Facebook challenges each month.
We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

Each blog post has a free image to collect and, if you sign up for the monthly newsletter, there is the chance to claim a free collage set each month.  Also if you make any purchase of $2 or more you receive a free image.

A Pyramid Card:

I used red card to make the base of the pyramid card and paper from my stash for the background. The beautiful image is from a set I received as a prize. I die cut it and matted it onto a red scalloped circle. I made some holly leaves and berries with a tiny tag to say 'joy' as embellishments. The back of the pyramid closes with a self adhesive hook and loop dot and it folds flat-ish (the holly adds dimension on mine) for mailing.

A Tri-fold Card:

My tri-fold card features two images from the newly released Yuletide Magic Card Toppers.
I made the card base from pearlised ivory card which is double sided and so the back looks pretty too. I used some festive paper from my own stash. All papers and images were heat embossed in gold along their edges, then matted onto gold card. I die cut the sentiments from gold card and placed them over the images.
The three side panels have Sizzix die cut sentiments saying love, hope and joy.

 Nutcracker Card:

This dimensional card features a beautiful Nutcracker from one of last month's free with purchase sheets. The paper is from my stash and the bauble was found online. The sentiment is die cut. The Nutcracker topper and the bauble are on foam tape and the sentiment was cut 3 times and adhered. Two poinsettias from an extra bauble were added to the top of the sentiment.

Two silvery vintage style cards:

Fab n funky Challenges #66 Christmas Animals
Creative Moments #265 Sparkle & Shine 01/01

Both of these images are from the Yuletide Magic Card Topper set. I matted them onto silver card and used patterned design paper for the background which was matted onto embossed silver card.
I made the die cut flowers and foliage from silver speckled card and silver card. The flowers have a gem stone centre.

PIP Challenge #2449 AG 15/12
Cutie Pie Challenge #201 Cute Christmas 10/01

I used a Sizzix die to cut the medium sized tags and I used left over scraps of patterned paper for the backing. The edges were inked in Vintage Photo. I added red velvet trim along the seam joining the papers. The little girl is from a set called Winter Cuties which I received as a prize/gift for commenting on the blog posts - so kind of Leanne to do this. She is mounted on a fancy edged die cut circle. Her poinsettia is die cut and heat embossed with Crackling Campfire Glaze and I used a brad for the centre.
The Nutcracker below was from one of the free with purchase sheets from November 2024. He is die cut and matted on red and gold card with a die cut sentiment.
