* BabyCakes Digi Design GDT: Garden Gnome

Hello

Today, I am delighted to share my second GDT project for Sandra Caldwell, the artist at BabyCakes Digis and Designs on Etsy.

Today a new set of digi stamps are released and I chose to work with digi stamp

#3314 - Gnome How To Plant

I coloured the image with Copic markers and added some white Posca pen highlights. I fussy cut him out leaving a thin white border so that he would pop out from the background.

The background is blended Distress Oxides in Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint and Weathered Wood. Water droplets were scattered over to bleach out some of the colour, then background, tone on tone stamping was added. I decided to stamp and heat emboss the sentiment which is from an AALL & Create stamp set (#181 Bouquet Add Ons). I made a spotlight circle to add to the background for the gnome to sit upon. White paint splatters and a black mat finish off my card.

That's all for now.
Thank you to Sandra for asking me to guest design.
I hope you'll pop over to BabyCakes Digi and Design to see the cute and whimsical images on offer.

Thanks for stopping by today.

* AALL & Create: The Gardener

Hello!

Today I am sharing  my GDT project for AALL & Create

I used the stamp set #424 The Gardener designed by Janet Klein.

Isn't she adorable! I love her posh wellies and little denim pinafore. She certainly manages to look a lot smarter than I do when I'm gardening!

The images were stamped with Memento ink so that they could be coloured with Copic markers. The background was made using a stencil, also from Janet's designs #96 Dandelion Field, and Distress Oxides with water to stamp the stencil - I love this easy technique.  Stamping was added to the background and edges, then the kraft trim was applied to ground my little gardener and her plant pots. I added some fabric flowers to finish off.

Here are my work in progress photos:

Stamps Used:
#324 Blooming Beauty
#404 Visual Ingredients
#424 The Gardener

Stencil:  #96 Dandelion Field

* Vera Lane Studio: Winter to Spring ATCoins

Hello!

Today I'm sharing a pair of Artist Trading Coins made using the Winter to Spring digi set from Vera Lane Studio.
I love this little girl. She stands in a different pose and a different outfit depending upon the season.

ATCoins are super fun to make. They measure just 2.5 inches in diameter. I coloured the girls and trees with Copic markers and the background was made with PaperArtsy Infusions.

I added some Glimmer Mist to the background to give it some shimmer.
White Posca pen highlights were added to the images.

How do you fancy owning your very own Vera Lane Studio personalised digi stamp?
Janet will drawn one for you.
For more details, see here.

That's all for now.
I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Gecko Galz: Love

 Hello!

Today is my DT feature day on the Gecko Galz blog.

Our customer challenge this month is Love Through The Ages, so I have made some cards featuring the love theme.

The first one is a wedding card. I asked Leanne if she could make a collage set with cats as the focal point and she excelled herself by creating a whole kit of 50 kitty images called What's New Pussy Cat Kit.

My wedding card features a kitty wedding :)

Just look at these sweet kitties' faces - how adorable!

Next I have a snarky Valentine. I do love snark and this quote combined with these Victorian cats just cracked me up!

I'm not sure which cat is talking - it could be either judging by the expressions on their faces!

My third card is a retro valentine with a comedic image from the Love is in the Air collage set. The male bather has ripped his heart out and is offering it to his beau. I wouldn't be too impressed to receive this gift, but I suppose the sentiment implied is lovely :)

The paper is from the Ancient Love ATC Set.

Lastly here is the card I made for the Customer Challenge Inspiration on the 1st February.  If you are interested there are more details are here.

That's all for now!
I hope you'll join our Love Through The Ages challenge where the winner will get a $25 shopping spree at the Gecko Galz shop.

The only rule is that you must use at least one Gecko Galz product
(this can be one of the freebies or, of course, you can buy at the Etsy store!)
Also if you sign up for the Gecko Galz newsletter, you'll be able to claim a free collage sheet each month and get first claim on the monthly $1 deals!

Please pop over to the Gecko Galz blog to see the fabulous designs by the very talented DT.

We also have a friendly Facebook Group where there are 4 monthly challenges, each with a collage sheet prize.

* BabyCakes Digi and Design GDT: From One Fox To Another

 Hello

First, please let me welcome my new follower, KIDU.

I am delighted to share my GDT project for Sandra Caldwell, the artist at BabyCakes Digis and Designs on Etsy.

Today a new set of digi stamps are released and I chose to work with From One Fox To Another:

I coloured the image with Copic markers and added some white Posca pen highlights. I fussy cut him out leaving a thin white border so that he would pop out from the background.

The background is brayered PaperArtsy Fresco Chalk paints. They were blended on the mat and brayered onto white card. I stamped one of my favourite AALL & Create background stamp (Mash Up, designed by Tracy Evans) and heat embossed in white. A added white paint splatters and inked the edges with black archival ink.
I made another background to mat the image, this time the same colour paints, but the stamp was inked with Versafine Clair Chianti.

The sentiment is a Tim Holtz Small Talk sticker. The heart embellishments were die cut from the stamped card and coated with Glossy Accents.

That's all for now.
Thank you to Sandra for asking me to guest design.
I hope you'll pop over to BabyCakes Digi and Design to see the cute and whimsical images on offer.
I will be back next Friday with another GDT sample.

Thanks for stopping by today.

* AALL & Create: Advice from a Chicken

 Hello!

Today is my GDT day at AALL & Create.

I have a mini book to share. It contains some sound advice and words of wisdom from Janet Klein's dancing chickens.

1. The front and back cover are made from 350gsm black card with a scored spine. The fastening twine was adhered beneath the panels and the panels were popped on foam tape.

2. Inside there is an accordion fold booklet on the right and a panel on the left.
The inside accordion was made with 250 gsm black card and the panels glued in place.
There is a hidden pocket (where the card was overlapped to make it the right length) with a double sided tag inside.

3. The background was coloured using brayered PaperArtsy Fresco paints.  Stamp #384 was heat embossed in white. Reverse Hexagons were stamped around the edges in black and texture paste was added through my favourite #39 Lotza Dots stencil

4. The images were coloured with Copic markers, Polychromo pencils and white Posca pen highlights.
My project involved lots of fussy cutting which I do whilst watching TV in the evening.

These chickens are so quirky! I'm sure that some of them are attempting yoga poses!

Here are my work in progress photos along with the products I used:
1. Painted background
2. Heat Embossing with stamp #384 Lined Hexagons

3. Texture paste through stencil #39 Lotza Dots
4. Edges inked in black using #374 Reverse Hexagons

5. Images stamped and coloured mainly with Copics
6. Fussy cut images

And voila - it's finished...

My vote is for clear stamps - I like to be able to see where and what I am stamping through the stamp and acrylic block. I love the crisp inky outlines and unlike digis, they don't smear with alcohol pens or watercolours..
