* Vera Lane Studio: Kat and Kadee

Hello!

Today at Vera Lane Studio we have a new release.
It's the wonderful Kat and Kadee.

Here is a card I made:

How cute are these characters? I coloured them with my usual Copic markers and fussy cut them. They are popped on foam pads onto a gelli print background which has stamped flowers which have been heat embossed in white. Some washi tape grounds my characters and I inked the edges of the gelli print background in black.

* Vera Lane Studio: Happy Birthday Mr Shakespeare

Hello!

Happy St George's Day to all in England and Happy Birthday to William Shakespeare!

I am so glad the weather bucked up it's ideas last week - we had some glorious sunshine and, of course, it's made everyone feel so much better!

Last week Janet, from Vera Lane Studio, released a new digi set to honour William Shakespeare. Today is his birthday (and also his death day), so I made a card.

I coloured the images of Shakespeare and the theatre masks with Copics and fussy cut them. They are popped on foam pads onto a sponged acrylic background which has some text stamping and three gold heat embossed stars. The quote is one of five which comes in the set and this particular one is a modern version of a quote from Julius Caesar - a play I studied at school. And what a great message it conveys: don't wait for someone to hand you a promotion or a challenge - go and seek it. Decide what you want your life to be, set goals and follow the correct steps to make your dream come true!

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Vera Lane Studio: Watercolour Fairy

Hello!

Today I have a card featuring the Watercolour Fairy from Vera Lane Studio.

The images are coloured with Copics and white Posca pen highlights are added. I also added some glitter to the fairy wings and the base of the cloud. The images are popped onto foam pads (apart from the row of houses) and placed on a gelli print background which has a little stamping and doodling. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz's Small Talk pad.

* Vera Lane Studio: Hyacinth

Hello!

Today at Vera Lane Studio we have a new digi stamp release. It's the beautiful Hyacinthus. It's perfect for all your spring cards!

Here is my card:

I love the fragrance of hyacinths and especially love the violet blue and purple ones.
I coloured my Hyacinth with Copics. She is on a gelli print background which was made in three stages, allowing the paint on the plate to dry between layers and stencilling and pulling the print from the third layer whilst the paint was still wet. I added some stamping and doodling to the gelli print, along with some modelling paste through a stencil, and inked the edges. The sentiment was cut into strips, inked and glued down along with some Copic dyed flowers and a piece of ric-rac ribbon to ground my Hyacinth.

The sentiment puzzled me initially, so I had to 'google' it to find out that it is about making yourself content or happy. The first loaf of bread would feed you physically, but the second could be sold to buy hyacinths which would feed your soul and give you pleasure. Such a wonderful sentiment!

* Vera Lane Studio: Fleur Fairies

Hello!

Today I have a cute card featuring the newly released Fleur Fairies from Vera Lane Studio.

Aren't they sweet! They are coloured with Copics and highlighted with white pen. They are popped on foam pads onto a background made from Dylusions acrylic paint with stencilling and light stamping. The background edges are inked in black. The sentiment is part of the set - I cut it into strips, inked the edges with Picked Raspberry and glued the directly onto the background.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!
