*{Pin}aspirational Challenges: Hydrangea Sprite

Hello!

Today is the start of a new challenge at

{PIN}spirational Challenges.

Challenge #190 runs for 2 weeks until 22nd May.

Here is the beautiful inspiration photo:

And the sponsors this time are Digital Delights and Oddball Art.

For my card, I chose to use this gorgeous digital stamp called Hydrangea Sprite (Big Eye) from Aurora Wings:

Hydrangeas have the most beautiful flowers, and I love them when they dry out and take on paler hues, too.

I coloured the image with Spectrum Noir markers, then cut it with a Cottage Cutz Stitched Rectangle die. The image was matted onto black card, then attached on foam pads to the  background paper and onto black card again.

The background is digital paper by Prettygraphixdesign, but it is unique, in that it was supposed to be brown (for a different project), but my printer was running low on ink and it turned out mauve! I thought it was perfect to go with this image.  A spotted lilac ribbon was attached to the background paper, then it was matted onto black card.
The image was attached on foam pads to the base card making an 'over the edge' card.

I made some flowers from white card. They were die cut with the smallest flower die from the Sweet Dixie set. Then they were inked using Memento inks and water and shaped whilst still damp. When the flowers were dry, a green crystal gem was added to the centre of each. Some leaves were die cut and coloured with inks and these were arranged with the flowers and some dried natural flowers from Anna Marie Designs. A small tag sentiment was added to finish it off.

hope you'll pop over to
to check out the gorgeous designs by the rest of the DT.

We would love for you to take part in the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by today.
xoxo

Cat Lovers Hop: Day 6

Hello!

First of all, let me warmly welcome Fiki who has kindly become a new follower. It's lovely to have you here!

It's the final day, Day 6, of the Cat Lover's Blog Hop at Janis's blog, Her Peaceful Garden

It has been a wonderful event! I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting everyone's blogs, seeing their kitty projects and I have learned such a lot!

Thank you Janis for organising this!
It must have been a mammoth task, but I do hope you'll do it all over again next year!

Janis has many fabulous sponsors for the hop, and a daily digi to play for.
I hope you'll come on over and take a look and maybe even play along!

Happy National Cat Day to all in the USA!

Here is my project. I made a simple easel card.
The image was one I coloured a while back and entered into an ATC challenge (that post is here). It wasn't a swap, so I decided to make a card with it.

The image is from Aurora Wings and is called 'Cat in Flowers'. It is part of the Animal Whimsy Collection. It was coloured with Spectrum Noir pens. It was mounted onto black card and then onto yellow card, then attached to the black background paper.
The flowers were made with white card and a Heartfelt Creations die set called Majestic Blooms. The die cut card was colour washed with ink and water, then the petals were shaped. Once dry, the petals were assembled and a pearl centre placed in each. They were added at the side of the image along with some die cut, inked foliage.
A ribbon was tied around the bottom of the card.

The Happy Birthday sentiment was die cut 3 times from white, black and yellow card. The die-cuts were glued together, but slightly offset to give a shadow effect. This was then glued on to a Spellbinders Label Twenty which is attached to the card on foam pads, so that it acts as the stopper for the easel.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sunflower Sprite: GDT for Crafty Boots

Hello crafty friends!

Today I'm delighted to be sharing a card I made as Guest DT for Crafty Boots Challenges.

The theme is "You are my Sunshine" and you can make any project you like - it doesn't have to be a card, using whatever materials and supplies you prefer.
The challenge is open until 12 noon GMT on 11th Sept.
I hope that you'll join in the fun!

I was Challenge Winner at Come and Get It and I got a Top 3 Award at Crafting With an Attitude

Also I was Designer's Choice at Cute as A Button.

I used the beautiful Sunflower Sprite from Aurora Wings.

I coloured the sprite with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, then fussy cut him leaving a thin white border. He is mounted on foam pads onto a Spellbinders Label which has been inked in Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade. The die was left in place whilst the inking was done and this left a crisp white border.

The background paper is from Trim Craft. It has a thin yellow ribbon wound around twice on the left hand side with some paper flowers and foliage. The flowers were made with a Heartfelt Creations Majestic Blooms Die; they were colour washed in Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade, then shaped and a grey pearl was added to the centre of each one. The foliage is from the Sweet Dixie Pretty Petals die set and was colour washed in Bamboo Leaves and Crushed Olive. Natural dried flowers from Anna Marie Designs were added too.

A small X-Cut tag has the Tim Holtz's chitchat words 'you are my',  and the word 'Sunshine' was die cut 4 times and glued one on top of each other, and inked in Mustard Seed.

I'd like to thank the Crafty Boots team for asking me to be guest designer this week. It really is a great honour!

Please hop over to the Craft Boots blog to see all the other wonderful DT creations and entries. It would be lovely to see your 'take' on this theme!

Thanks for stopping by today and I'd love to hear any comments you have!

Poppy Sprite

Hello

I used the gorgeous Poppy Sprite digital stamp from Aurora Wings for my card today.

I decided to make a simple gatefold card to reveal the Poppy Sprite inside.

I used digital paper from Pixel Paper Prints for the background and adhered white die-cut doily halves as a backdrop for the image. The image was coloured with Spectrum Noir markers and die cut with a Cottage Cutz stitched rectangle die. It was added on foam pads for some dimension. The sentiment is a glitter sentiment from Papermania and this too was attached on foam pads.

The front panels had the same patterned paper which was decorated with white die-cut borders and corners from the Spellbinders Parisian Accents set. I added two die cut flower embellishments, each with a clear gem centre, as a finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Tutu Bunny

Hi!

Today I'm showing a card made with the beautiful Aurora Wings digi stamp Tutu Bunny or Bunnirina.

I made Top 3 at Aurora Wings with this card.

Isn't she adorable?
I saw her coloured with dots on Julie's blog and thought I would try it.
Obviously I have a long, long way to go to get to Julie's standard :-)

She's coloured with Spectrum Noir markers. Dots of glitter were applied with a Quickie glue pen and a few pink gems. She was mounted onto embossed card which had been matted onto a black card background. Glitter sticker borders were added to the top and bottom edge. Some paper flowers with tiny pearl and bead centres were scattered here and there. A bow and a tiny tag finished it off.

Thanks for looking!

xoxo

ATC: Put a Bow on It

Hello. Happy May!

Week 207 at Wicked Wednesday has the theme 'Put a Bow On It".

I made this ATC:

I used my new Aurora Wings digi stamp Cat in Spring Flowers - one of my prizes from a recent win at Wicked Wednesday! The stamp was printed onto white card and coloured with Spectrum Noir markers. It was attached to a black ATC card.
I made a tiny pink ribbon bow from a snippet of ribbon and added it to the cat's neck.  My intension was to put a tiny bell there as well, but try as I might, I couldn't find the bells anywhere.

Here is my lovely cat, Casey, having a lazy day reading the Sunday magazines. (Yes, Parsnip...I know it's Monday, but it takes him all Sunday just to read the paper!)
