* Vera Lane Studio: Miss Dee's Dogs

Hello

Today is my Vera Lane Studio DT day.

We have a new digi set released today called Dee's Dogs.

Miss Dee is a bit of an acquired taste, but her wit and sharp tongue make her very popular. 😄

Here is my project:

Miss Dee and her doggies are coloured with Copic markers.
The background is stamped with a stencil loaded with green oxide inks. I added some heat embossing and stamping as well as paint splatters. I grounded the images with Janet's washi tape from AALL & Create.

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Vera Lane Studio: Little Miss

 Hello

Happy Monday! I hope the new week finds you fit and well.

Today I am sharing my DT project for Vera Lane Studio

I have used a  digi set released a short while ago and called Little Miss.

I have had a set of Bare Basics matchboxes for a while and thought it was time to use one. It turned out that the size of the top of the cover is the same as an ATC. Anyhow, I also decided it was time to start using up some of the painted and inky papers I have in my stash, otherwise, why save them?
I used some brayered acrylic paint backgrounds for my panel pieces. The opener is a Tim Holtz brad.

Here is the top of the matchbox. I added some white embossed stamping using one of Janet Klein's Background Noise stamps, available through AALL & Create. I added some tone on tone text stamping and some black stamping around the edges (also from the Background Noise set).

The little character was coloured with Copic pens and her eyes given some definition with Polychromo pencils. I inked the snippets of the sentiment and the edges of the topper with black ink, adding a hand doodled border.

The drawer of the matchbox was lined with Power Words washi tape #24 (designed by Bipasha Bk for AALL & Create). I also added two of the words, torn away from the rest, as grounding for my Little Miss.

And lastly, here is what I am keeping in the drawer ... some of my coloured and fussy cut Vera Lane Studio stamps - it is surprising how many will fit into this small space!

I think this would also make a beautiful little gift box.

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

AALL & Create: Flourish Plaque

Hello

Today I have a piece of wall art to share for my GDT post for AALL & Create.

I made a wall hanging using an MDF plaque from Samantha K.

I love the #269 Flourish bird stamp by Bipasha BK and wanted to create something other than a card with it. Inspired by a Tracy Evans workshop, I made a clay bird and popped it onto some twigs, then surrounded it with moss and flowers. I am really pleased with how it turned out. Here are some close up photos:

Step by Step:

1. Texture paste was applied through the #112 Heapza Hexagons stencil and acrylic paints applied and wiped back with a baby wipe.
2. #374 Reverse Hexagons were stamped with Shady Lane ink and gold wax applied around the edges.
3. The #269 Flourish stamps were stamped and fussy cut.
4. The leaves and bird images were coloured with Inktense watercolour pencils.
5. The leaves were layered for added dimension and liquid pearls added as berries.
6. I gathered some twigs from the garden, glued them in place and surrounded them with florists' moss.
7. I stamped the bird into air drying clay. It was cut out and left to dry. When dry it was painted and waxed. The words 'little birds' which is part of the stamp was also stamped into clay.
8. The flowers were layered and placed with the leaves on the bottom part of the plaque.
9. Glossy accents was applied over the clock face and the robin was perched on the twigs.
Gold Posca pen was used to add shine to the clock surround and white Posca paint was splattered over the entire project.
