* Vera Lane Studio: Joyful New Year

Hello!
Happy Monday!

For my Vera Lane Studio post this week, I have a New Year Card Calendar:

There always seems to be one or two friends that I forget to send Christmas greetings to, so a New Year card/calendar is my solution this year.
I used Joyful as I think she will bring a smile all through the year. She comes with a selection of birds and two sentiments. I also added a flower from the Sunny digi set.
I made the background with Infusions and Brushos and separated the calendar part from the image with a striped 'line' from the Circles and Stems collage set. The images were coloured with Copics and white highlights were added with a Posca pen. They were fussy cut and glued directly onto the background. I typed (using the Vera Lane Studio Baby Powder font) and printed the first part of the sentiment.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane.
It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Thanks for stopping by today.

* Vera Lane Studio: Snuggle Up

Hello!
Happy Monday!

We're almost there!
I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas time if you celebrate!

Today is my DT day at Vera Lane Studio. I have made a card with an older winter set called Snow Day:

I love this cute girl and her snowman! I coloured them with Copics and fussy cut them, running a black marker around the edges to mask my cutting imperfections.
The background is Infusions and Brushos with white Posca paint pen splatters. I added texture paste to the bottom of the card and whist it was wet sprinkled some crystal snow on top. The edges of the background are inked with black archival ink.
The characters are popped on foam dots and the sentiment was cut, inked along the edges and glued to the background.

* Gecko Galz: Christmas Dreams

Hello!
I'm so glad you are here!

Christmas is almost here and so I am sharing the last of my Gecko Galz Christmas cards today.

I made three similar cards in terms of style and layout.

Card 1:

The gorgeous Santa is from the Purple Passions Collage Set. I distressed the edges and inked them with Vintage Photo, then matted onto gold die cut card. The background paper is from the Winter Wonderlands Paper Pack. Its edges were distressed and inked and it was matted onto dark blue cars with a shimmery finish. I popped some gold mesh trim along the left side of the card and anchored it down with the image mat, popping it up on foam tape for dimension. I made a poinsettia using white glitter paper and inked the edges lightly. I added some gold Prills to the flower centre and arranged it with some die cut leaves on the right side of the image.

***
Card 2:

I used the same Santa from the Purple Passions Collage Set for this card, but changed the background paper. This time I chose one from the La Isla Bonita Paper Pack. I distressed the paper and the image and matted both as before. I added the gold mesh trim across the bottom portion of this card and adhered a die cut sentiment to secure it in place. Again I made some flowers from white glitter paper and inked the edges to match the papers. They were adhered in place along with some gold foliage.

Card 3:

This time I used a beautiful little angel image from the Christmas Blessings Collage Set. I teamed it with an enlarged Sentimental Celluloid ATC as my backing paper. The gold mesh trim was added beneath the image mat and a poinsettia flower and gold leaves added to the right side. I die cut a Christmas sentiment and added it to the top of the image.

Cards 4

These last cards are simple, quick and easy ones. The images were cut to fit the inside of the decorative die cut frame and then they were popped onto small square cards.  The images are from Winter Wonderland (free blog hop set) and Reindeer Way Jewel It collage sets.

* Gecko Galz: 24 Tags of Christmas

Hello!
Happy Friday!

Over on the Gecko Galz blog we are celebrating the run up to Christmas with our 24 Tags of Christmas event. Each day DT members post a Christmas tag made using Gecko Galz products. If you leave a comment on the blog post or make a purchase you will be in the draw for a DAILY Gecko Galz gift!

What are you waiting for?

Here are my tags, featured on the blog today:

I made two vintage tags from recycled jar lids.
The nice thing is they double up as tree decorations!

Having given the jar lids a good soak and scrub, I printed out the  images that I needed. I used manuscript music papers from the Christmas Carols collage set for the backgrounds and cut out circles, slightly larger than the lid, so that they would cover the entire interior surface.  The images I used are from Christmas Carols and Merry Little Christmas, but any images would work. I fussy cut them, edged them with Vintage Photo ink and popped them up on foam pads for a 3D look.

I pierced the rim of the jar lid with my pokey tool and threaded crochet ribbon through, knotting and glueing on the inside to hold it in place. I added the tinsel trim using Fabri-tac glue. Next I made the 'To and From' tag, on my computer, using sentiments from the Christmas Sayings stamp set. These were printed, die cut and edged in Fired Brick Distress Oxide, then glued to the top of the jar lid.

And there you have it - easy and duel-purposed, as well as a bit of recycling!

* Vera Lane Studio: Nativity

Hello!

Happy Monday!

Today is my DT day at Vera Lane Studio. I'm posting from the shores of Loch Lomond in Scotland where I've just spent a beautiful long weekend!

I made a Christmas card with the Silent Night digi set. This set is incredibly cute and features five digi images. I didn't use the barn.

I coloured the images with Copic pens, added some white Posca pen highlights and fussy cut them. The background is made using Infusions Golden Sands and Brusho Prussian Blue. The edge of the background was inked with black archival ink and Glimmer Mist was spritzed over the entire background. The sheen is so very beautiful. I arranges my images, along with a couple of animals from Farm Animals Set 1 onto the background and added the sentiment.

Artsystamper: Wrappings and Tags

Hello!
Happy Monday!

Today sees the start of a new challenge at the new Artsystamper Challenge Blog. Each challenge runs for two weeks and starts on the first and third Monday of the month.
The theme for this challenge is Wrappings and/or Tags
I hope that you can find time to join in the fun!

The winner will receive the stamp set of their choice from TheArtsystamperShop. Beverly Cole’s selections offer stamps and sentiments in each set as well as pre-colored images for easy, last minute cards. Why not take a moment and check out what she has in store!

Here is what I made:

I made some tags using pre coloured digital images from Sweet Santa, Snow Birds and Poinsettia Pair.

I resized the images and added the 'Merry Christmas' sentiment from Sweet Santa to some of the images. I then printed them out, leaving enough space to die cut around each. Once die cut, I left the die in place and inked the background with Distress Oxides; Twisted Citron first and then edged with Peeled Paint and Fired Brick. Some touches of glitter were applied to each image.
I cut a larger gold mat with each die and adhered the digital images on top, then threaded some gold fibres through to make the tag.

The gift bags have a rectangle of Wintery Paper adhered to the front. The images are fussy cut, leaving a thin white border and popped onto a gold die cut square. Some gold sequin trim was placed beneath the topper.

Next I made a chocolate box sleeve from white card and Wintery Paper. I simply measured the size of the box and scored my card to make the sleeve. The patterned papers were cut slightly smaller that each panel and the edges were distressed with scissors. I added one of my tags and a large shop bought bow.

The wine bottle tag is again just a strip of card, scored in two places with a die cut circle in the middle portion to pop over the bottle neck. Wintery Paper was distressed and adhered to the card and one of the tags adhered to the front.

That's all for today!
I hope you will hop on over to Artsystamper Digitals Challenge Blog and enter! You will also see more inspiring designs from the Artsystamper Addicts Design Team ... so much fun.

I'll be back with another Artsystamper project in two weeks time.
