* Vera Lane Studio: Snow Much Fun

 Hello

Happy Boxing Day!

I hope you had a lovely Christmas Day, if you celebrate.

At Vera Lane Studio, we have a new-ish digi set called Snow Much Fun and I made what for me is a clean and simple journal page with the adorable squishy characters:

This is what we should be doing today - shaking away the cobwebs and whizzing down slopes on sledges (or at least taking a brisk walk :) )

I coloured the digis with Copics and fussy cut them. The background was inked with Elements Inks and using torn paper masks to create the skyline and the snow banks. White embossing enamel was scattered and heated from underneath to produce the snow effect and the sentiment was cut into strips.

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Gecko Galz: Holiday Tags and Cards

 Hello

It's my DT feature day on the Gecko Galz blog.
The theme for this month's customer challenge is Christmas Dreams.
We also have the 24 tags of Christmas, where each day leading up to Christmas Day we feature a different designer tag. Do pop over and take a look.

As always, we have the monthly Image Challenge, the monthly Christmas Image Challenge, the monthly Stamp Challenge, a Steampunk challenge and a Gothic Challenge on the blog, as well as 4 Facebook challenges.
We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

The winner of the Customer challenge will get a $25 Gecko Galz Etsy Store voucher and the runner up a $12 voucher. There are plenty of free Gecko Galz images if you don't already own any. Each blog post has a free image to collect and, if you sign up for the monthly newsletter, there is the chance to claim a free collage set each month.  Also if you make any purchase of $2 or more you receive a free image.

I made a couple of 3D Tags that double up as tree ornaments:

I used die cut ovals as the base, covered in gold card and placed an oval of paper from the Christmas Traditions ATC Collection as a background. I fussy cut the images and popped them on foam tape with inky foliage dies behind them. The winter sentiment is stamped and the edges inked with Candied Apple Distress Oxide. Gold tinsel was threaded through each to act as a tie.

Entering:

 * Creative Inspirations Festive Foliage 03/01

I also made a selection of cards:

This is such a lovely image from a beautiful collage set called Nature's Winter. I teamed it with paper from the Starburst ATC set.  Crystal glitter was added to the image and a little sprig of gold and white foliage along with a sparkly flower. The gold glitter snowflakes have a gem at their centre.

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #130 AG Christmas 08/01
Crafty Gals Corner #238 Tis the Season 10/01

This cute snow bunny is also from Nature's Winter and again I used the Starburst ATC papers. I used the Facebook challenge card sketch (see the poster at the end of this post) turned on its side for the layout. I die cut the letters to spell Joy from gold card.

I really like this couple in the snow image from the Baby It's Cold Outside collage set.
I teamed it with papers from the Merry & Bright ATC Collection and the Christmas in Nature ATC set. Again I used the Facebook challenge card sketch for my layout.

Here are a couple more tags:

The background is paper from the Merry & Bright ATC Collection and the images are from the Once Upon a Christmas collage set. I die cut a tag from kraft card, inked the edges with Vintage Photo ink and added foliage and berries to the top along with a green satin ribbon. The sentiment is from the Christmas in Nature ATC set.

And finally, this was my card for the customer challenge inspiration.
You can see more details here.

That's all for now!

* Path of Positivity: Joy to the World

  Hello

Welcome to the December Path of Positivity Challenge.

Our challenge is always Anything Goes with an optional theme.

This month's option is to design a project that focuses on SHARING YOUR DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE.

Honours and Prizes include:
  • $6 worth of images from Scribbles Designs, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • A badge for the following honours: Top PickVoter's ChoiceMost InspirationalRandom WinnerDT Delight.

I made a card using Card-io Stamps to share my dreams for the future. The sentiment simply says 'joy' and represents my dream of Joy to the World.

Aren't these lovely images. I discovered this stamp company at a local craft fair. They are a small, family business in the UK and have been trading for quite a number of years, but are a new discovery for me. I love the sets which have many small stamps to make lovely scenes. I used a combination of three sets for my card - each set works perfectly on it's own or can be used in conjunction with other sets. I used the twiggy branch for the wreath. My focal feature, the sleepy fox, is from a newer stamp set called Holly Hide-Away and some Mini Tall Trees were stamped on the horizon.
Glamour Dust glitter was applied to the snow drifts and the twigs on the wreath. A tiny tag has the word joy stamped upon it and a check bow finishes the off card.

We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!
The link up is here: Challenge #107 Path of Positivity.

That's all for today!
Many thanks to Scribbles Designs for sponsoring the challenge.

I'll be back with a another Path of Positivity project in a couple of weeks time.

Vera Lane Studio: Capricorn

Hello

It is my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and today I am sharing my final zodiac tag.

It's Miss Capricorn's turn and she is a such a sweetheart.

She is coloured with Copics and pencils and fussy cut. I added foam tape and popped her on the inky tag with torn Power Words washi tape (by Bipasha from AALL & Create) for grounding. The tag was spritzed with mica spays and the green has a beautiful copper shimmer. I heat embossed in white and stamped in black using the Scripted Hearts stamp, also from AALL & Create.
Here is a closer look at little Miss Capricorn:

* Vera Lane Studio: Time for Christmas

Hello

It's Monday again and time for my DT day at Vera Lane Studio

I am using the Time for Christmas set as I love these dinky, squishy characters.

I made a set of ATCs:

Aren't they the sweetest little people!

I coloured them with alcohol markers and made a smooshed Distress Oxide background with a couple of pink inks. I added some background stamping and some stamping in black around the edges and I also added some white heat embossed script (all stamps are Janet's 'Background Noise' from AALL & Create and it is my absolute favourite background stamp set). I added some chunky enamel for good measure.
I fussy cut my characters and trees and also some borders (from the Vera's Borders set). The sentiments are also from the Time for Christmas digi set.

I decided to make a Christmas card using one of the ATCs as a topper - it's on a smooshed Distress Oxide background. and I added a gingham ribbon and bow.

That's all for now.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Gecko Galz: December Christmas Image

 Hello

As soon as I saw the December Christmas Image on the Gecko Galz blog, I knew I wanted to make a card with it. This Santa image is gorgeous - so much beautiful detail, lots of cute creatures and glorious winter colours.

I decided to use the card sketch from the December Gecko Galz Facebook challenges, so all that I had to do was choose some background papers. I settled for the beautiful Starburst ATC papers and teamed them with silver glitter card from my stash.

I used the 'rough enough is good enough' technique for measuring. My paper trimmer blade is on it's last legs and chews the paper rather than slicing it - this is such a pain as I have to constantly trim bits off and the paper pieces just get smaller :)  However I managed to get the shapes and the mats for each layer and I chose three sparkly jelly button gems as my embellishment.
I love how this turned out. In real life it is so sparkly.

That's all for now!
I hope you'll join our December challenges where the winners will get a $25 shopping spree at the Gecko Galz shop.

Here's a list of the December Challenges:
