* Crafts Galore Encore: Sending Love

Hello

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore EncoreThe theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter 3 different projects The challenge runs all month until mid day (BST) 30th October.

Hetty Clare is kindly sponsoring this month's challenge.

Here is a card I made with Sending Love:

I coloured the image with Copic markers and die cut it. I added a scalloped die cut mat cut from design paper and inked around the edges. The background was made with a stencil which I inked and spritzed with water. I then ran it through my die cutting machine to emboss the pattern.

The sentiment is die cut from design card and has a white underlay.

My second Hetty Clare card for Crafts Galore Encore is here.

Many thanks to Helen at Hetty Clare for sponsoring the challenge.

Please pop over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs.

We'd love to see your creations.
Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card and you can enter up to 3 times.

Thanks for stopping by today!
xoxo

* Vera Lane Studio: Cupcakes

Hello Friends!

Once again I'm sharing my weekly DT post for Vera Lane Studio.

Who doesn't love Cupcakes? Haha - I didn't see many hands raised in the air :)
The latest digi set, released today, has 5 gorgeous cupcakes, a donut, a candle and 2 sentiments.

Here are my makes:

I made the background by stamping with an embossing folder. I used Memento inks in Rose Bud and Dandelion to add colour the inside of a blossom patterned embossing folder. After spritzing with water I placed the card in the folder and ran it through my machine.

Firstly, I made a couple of tags:

The first tag background was embossed, whilst the second tag was just printed with the embossing folder. Each tag was inked around the edges with Picked Raspberry distress ink.
The cupcake images were coloured with markers; some iridescent glitter was applied to the frosting and the cherry was coated with glossy accents. A small doily was die cut from gold textured paper and some glitter tape was used as a base for the cakes. The cupcakes were popped on foam tape for a bit of dimension.

Next are a couple of cupcake cards:

The cards were made in the same way as the tags, but this time the embossed background  was matted on to shimmery gold card. The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment is part of the Cupcake set and the 'Enjoy' sentiment is from the Doodle Collection.

Vera Lane Studio: Kokeshi Dolls

Hello Crafty Friends!

Happy July!

I'm sharing my DT post for Vera Lane Studio today and we have a brand new release - the very beautiful Kokeshi Dolls.

There are five dolls, blossom and a sentiment in the set and I made a selection of ATCs and a tag to showcase each of the dolls:

The images were coloured with alcohol pens and fussy cut. Some highlights were added with a white Post pen. The dolls were popped on foam pads onto a background made from handmade Japanese paper with white fibre and gold mesh trim. An inked Tim Holtz Chit Chat sticker was added to each.

Once again the images were coloured with alcohol pens and fussy cut. They were popped on foam pads onto a background made by stamping with a flowery embossing folder. This is one of my favourite techniques and is very easy to do:

1. Open the embossing folder
2. Ink the side with the logo - the negative side (this colours the larger background area)
3. Spritz lightly with water
 4. Place card carefully onto the folder and either press down with fingers to stamp, or, as I did, run the folder through your machine to create both stamping and embossing.
5. If you wish, you can ink up the positive (raised) side of the embossing folder and this will give you a finer stamped image.

The ATC has raspberry ribbon tied around it and some gold mesh and sequins along with the word 'Bloom' from the Bloom set. The tag was die-cut, then stamped with an embossing folder. Ribbon was wrapped around it and words were selected from the Kokeshi Doll sentiment. Some sequins finish it off.

Another ATC with a background made by stamping with an embossing folder. A die-cut doily segment, inked with Distress Oxide, was added along with a strip of glitter tape and sequins. The word "grow" is from The Gardener set.

Just in case you missed it, yesterday saw the release of this Cake set - don't they look delicious!

Vera Lane Studio: Caroline's Cupcakes

Hello!

I'm showing a DT project for Vera Lane Studio today.
The gorgeous Caroline's Cupcakes is a brand new release:

I made two cards:

The images were coloured with alcohol markers and pencils. Glitter and glossy accents were applied and, when fussy cut, they were applied on foam pads onto the backgrounds.

The backgrounds were made by stamping with an embossing folder. (Open your chosen folder, and ink with distress inks, then lightly spritz with water. Close the folder and run it through through the embossing machine.) Once dry, I sprayed the embossed card with Glimmer Mist to give it a lovely shimmery finish.  On the second card I swiped an ink pad over the raised embossed areas.

The backgrounds were matted onto coloured textured card and then onto charcoal-grey card.  The sentiments were cut into strips and inked, then glued directly onto the background.

These close up photos show the shimmer a little better:

Father's Day Card

Hello,

Wooo-hooo!!! Wesley won me a Feather in my cap!

Here is a Father's Day card using the wonderful Polkadoodles Wesley stamp.

The background is stamped with an embossing folder from Darice. I used Peacock Feathers and Nautical Blue ink with a spritz of water in the embossing folder, then I ran it through the Sizzix machine. This was mounted on to shimmery blue card.

The image is a digital stamp from Polkadoodles which you can find here. I coloured him with Spectrum Noir markers then die cut him with a Pierced Rectangle die from Cottage Cutz.  The background to the image was inked with a blending tool using Peacock Feathers. I mounted the image onto white card and attached it to the background with foam pads.

The sentiment and #1 Dad Rosette were printed from the internet onto card, then cut and attached on foam pads.

I am entering these challenges:

Snippets : Bunny Tag Card

This is a tiny card - just 10cm by 10cm.

The snippet I used to make the tag was from an unsuccessful attempt at making a CAS card last week. The card was stamped using inks (Memento Dandelion and Rose Bud) and water in an embossing folder. I  love the way the print turned out - just like watercolour, with the inks blending into one another, but it didn't look right as part of the CAS card.

Patterned paper from Polka Doodles was cut using Scalloped Nesting Square dies. The tag was die cut using an Xcut Large Tag die and this was attached on foam dots. The little rabbit image is from Vera Lane Studio, from a digi set called Hello Spring. It was coloured with Spectrum Noir markers and attached with pop dots. Tiny crystal star gems were added to the tag and it was finished off with a ribbon bow.

I'm entering this at
Brown Sugar Challenge #190 Spring

CAS: One Layer

Week 267 at Less is More is the 'One Layer Challenge' with the sentiment being the main focus of the card.

You would think that making a one layer card would technically be the easiest sort to make ... oh no!!!  I have a pile of failed attempts and I'm still not happy with this one.

My one layer card :

The background was ink stamped, using Memento Dandelion and Rose Bud, with a very old embossing folder from Darice. The watercolour effect is the result of spraying water onto the ink in the folder before printing the card. The border was stamped in Memento Gray Flannel using a Papermania Capsule Geometric Mono stamp (this really could do with a strip of ribbon or washi or something to hide the disjointed joints between the stamping, but I thought that would be classed as embellishment). The sentiment was stamped in Ranger Jet Black archival ink, using a stamp from the same Papermania set.

Thanks for stopping by and looking!
