* Gecko Galz: Love, Love, Love

Hello everyone!

This month at Gecko Galz our customer challenge theme is 'Courtly Love'. I made some cards:

I love Gecko Galz digital collage sheets - most of them have really cool images which can be printed, cut out and used as card toppers.

This image is from the Ladies of the Court collage sheet. The colours are so rich and luxurious looking - look at the rusts and turquoise! I distressed the edges and inked them with Vintage Photo ink and matted it with gold paper.
The background is made with paper from the Courtly Love paper pack (Paper CL09). Again the edges were distressed and inked and matted onto gold card. I added some gold mesh trim across the background paper and a strip of raffia to lay under the image.
The Alphaletters are dimensional stickers and I like the vintage effect. Some tiny gems were added in diagonally opposite corners.

Here's my second card...

The mage is from the Vintage Flirtations collage sheet. I matted it onto gold card, distressing the edges. The beautiful paper is from Courtly Love (CL07). I distressed the edges and inked them with Vintage Photo. Two strips of wide lace were adhered onto of the paper - I like that the lace has lots of open space, so that the paper still shows through. I found a metal peacock in my stash and thought he was a perfect onlooker! I added some rose trim to the edge of the image and an enamel embellishment along with a stamped sentiment from the In Other Words stamp set.

And my third card:

For this card I used another image from the Vintage Flirtations collage sheet, but I've added some interest and dimension by decoupaging parts of the focal points of the image. The edges were distressed, inked and matted onto some ivory pearlescent card.

The background paper is from the Winter Wishes paper pack. The edges are inked with Vintage Photo and it was matted onto the same ivory pearlescent card. Some green ribbon was added along the left edge and some pearl flower trim set on top. Some lovely ivory lace was added along the right edge of the image and mat. The wooden sentiment was triple heat embossed with Bronze embossing powder. Some die cut flowers with pearl centres complete the card.

That's all from me for now!

Vera Lane Studio: Coffee Girl Journal Pages

Hello!

Happy Monday!

Today I'm sharing an art journal spread using the very first digi set I bought from Vera Lane Studio:

The images are from Coffee Girl and they are coloured with markers and Neocolour II. She has white Posca pen highlights and is fussy cut.

The background is made with sponged acrylic paint, stencils and modelling paste plus iridescent medium (for some sparkle) and stamps.  I outlined the edges of the textured parts with watercolour pencils and blended into shadows, so that the relief stands out.

The sentiment was cut up and coloured with pastels. Shadows were added around the words and the image. A scribble border completes the pages.

* Vera Lane Studio: New Day

Hello everyone!

First, let me wish you a Happy New Year!
I hope your year will be filled with peace, joy and laughter!

Today I'm sharing a whimsical New Year greeting card-calendar for
Vera Lane Studio.

I used a new set of digi stamps called New Day - perfect for the start of a new year, but versatile for all year round crafting.

I coloured the images with Copics and fussy cut them. I made a patterned paper background for my images using dies and adhered the sentiment in strips.
I chose some co-ordinating dotty-heart paper and inked the edges with Vintage Photo. It is attached to an 8 x 8 inch base card, folded into a tent fold. My image was placed on foam pads and a calendar attached below.

* Crafts Galore Encore: Little Birdie

Hello crafty friends!

Happy New Year!

We have a brand new year and a brand new challenge
 at Crafts Galore Encore.

As always the challenge is Anything Goes and we would love to see your creations!

This month we are sponsored by the wonderful
Sparkle N Sprinkle who are offering a whopping $10 to spend in their online store to the winner of this challenge.

I was lucky to receive a digi stamp called Western Tanager
Here is the card I made:

I coloured the image with Copic markers and used a stitched rectangle die to cut it out. I needed to adjust the die a couple of times to trim the image to the correct size. I inked the background lightly to fill in the white space.
I used patterned paper for the background, teaming it with a mat of kraft card and kraft die cut doilies. I added a hessian ribbon from the Ribbon Girl, topped with satin ribbon and lace, across the centre of the card. I cut the doily into two and adhered it above and below the  trim.
The image was popped on foam and a jute bow added along with an inked sentiment from a Gecko Galz collage sheet called Charming Words. Three jumbo pearls complete the card.

I hope you'll pop to over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs.
We'd love to see your creations.
Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

* Gecko Galz: Courtly Love

Hello everyone!

Happy New Year!
I hope your 2018 is full of peace, joy and love!

This month at Gecko Galz our customer challenge theme is 'Courtly Love'

I made a card. All of the printed paper products are from Gecko Galz.

My image is from the Vintage Flirtations collage set and it is die cut along with a cream pearlescent mat. Both the image and the mat are inked along the edges with my favourite Vintage Photo ink. The background paper is from the Courtly Love paper packet has it edges inked and is on a teal mat. I added some natural jute trim and some ivory crochet lace across the centre and popped the image on top.  To the right, I added some die cut kraft foliage and some natural button twine, arranged in a coil, with the Love Birds sentiment (from the Charming Words collage set) on top.
