Gecko Galz: Scheherazade

It's a new month and we have a new customer challenge over at the Gecko Galz blog.  

The theme this month is Scheherazade.

As always, we have free images to download to make projects to enter the Card Challenge, the Christmas Image Challenge, the Fantasy Challenge, an ATC challenge, a Steampunk Challenge and a Gothic Challenge,. The free images can be accessed by the tabs at the top of the main blog page. We also have a quarterly challenge on the blog.

In case you don't know who Scheherazade is, she is a character from the One Thousand and One Tales or the Arabian Nights.

The story goes that the Sultan, was enraged by his first wife's infidelity, and he vows to marry a virgin each night and have her executed at dawn. Scheherazade, volunteers to marry him, and instead of succumbing to death, she begins telling him captivating stories that she intentionally leaves unfinished at dawn, thus ensuring her survival as the Sultan eagerly awaits the next instalment. Her story takes so long to tell that the sultan falls in love with her.

Here is what I made as inspiration for the Scheherazade challenge::

I used a blue and gold marbled paper for the background and chose two images from the  Scheherazade collage set. I matted them onto gold paper and made a blue die cut flower and some gold foliage. Some gold gems were added to the top left side and a sticker sentiment that says, 'Tell Your Story'.... Below is a close up
