Gecko Galz: Nutcracker Dreams

Hello

It's a new month and we have a new customer challenge over at the Gecko Galz blog.

The theme this month is Nutcracker Dreams..

As always, we have free images to download to make projects to enter the Card Challengethe Christmas Image Challenge, the Fantasy Challenge, an ATC challenge, a Steampunk Challenge and a Gothic Challenge,. The free images can be accessed by the tabs at the top of the main blog pageWe also have a quarterly challenge on the blog.

If that isn't enough challenges, we also have Facebook challenges each month.
We hope you can find some time to join in the fun.

The winner of the Customer challenge will get a $25 Gecko Galz Etsy Store voucher and the runner up a $12 voucher. There are plenty of free Gecko Galz images if you don't already own any. Each blog post has a free image to collect and, if you sign up for the monthly newsletter, there is the chance to claim a free collage set each month.  Also if you make any purchase of $2 or more you receive a free collage sheet.

Here are the projects I made.

First a pink Nutcracker card:

I used images from Nutcracker Dreams. I printed the image twice so that I could fussy cut the nutcracker and decoupage him onto the background. I added glitter to the tree baubles and placed the image on raspberry coloured card inking around the edges in Picked raspberry. I added some glitter sticker strips around the image for a bit more sparkle and placed the whole onto a pre-bought silver card. I added a pink coloured die cut snowflake and topped it with a die cut poinsettia, edged with pink ink and some silver foliage.

And a green Nutcracker card:

Again I used an image from Nutcracker Dreams. I printed the image twice so that I could fussy cut the nutcracker and decoupage him onto the background. I added glossy Accents to the baubles on the Christmas trees and also some fine glitter. I found some olive coloured card to mat the image onto, again adding glitter trim stickers. This time I added die cut, inky winter foliage and some red baubles to represent holly.

Next, a set of Nutcracker Tree Decorations:

IHere I used three images from Nutcracker Dreams. I also printed them in reverse, so that I could place them back to back and place a hanging ribbon between the two pieces.
All 6 nutcrackers were fussy cut and inked around the edges in Vintage Photo ink. They were adhered back to back, making sure they were aligned perfectly. Gold ribbon was sandwiched between the two pieces to enable the decoration to be hung up.

That's all for now!
