* Cat Lovers Hop Day 1

Hello

Welcome to Day 1 of the Cat Lovers Hop 2021.

A big hello to all my furry, feline-loving friends!

This is an annual event hosted by the lovely Janis over on her blog at Her Peaceful Garden.
If you like cats pop over and have a look at the fun games and awesome prizes that Janis has organised for the next 6 days.

I used newly released AALL & Create stamps to make my Halloween card. I stamped the images, coloured and fussy cut them, then added them to the rainbow sky background.
The background is blended Distress Oxides, splattered with water to bleach out some colour. The moon was made using a set from Inkylicious which includes a moon stencil, mask and stamp. It was out long before Tim brought his out :) I then stamped the background with various AALL & Create background stamps to add texture and a border. I also used the Batosphere stamp to create the web and bats in the top corner.
The cat and hat were stamped onto the background so that the blots and squiggles would be there when I added the fussy cut images. I am distraught that I misplaced the hat in my eagerness to complete the project - oh well, let's say she has a levitating witches hat :)
I added some silver glitter pen to the web and around the edge of the moon.

Vera Lane Studio: Wee Witches

Hello

Happy last Monday in October!

Today for my Vera Lane Studio DT project I have a Halloween card with an older digi set called Wee Witches. There are two cute, adorable witches plus a moon and stars and two sentiments.

I used brushes and blended Distress Oxides for the background using a Moon mask, stencil and stamp from Inkylicious to add the moon detail. I added some stamping using AALL & Create's #596 Batmosphere and #556 Leaves for the ground.  To add a little texture to the inky background I used #468 Scripted Stars and #485 Reverse Stars in tone on tone ink and also in black around the edges.
The Wee Witch and the quirky crow were coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut. The sentiment is from Wee Witches.

I love this vintage image from the Witches Collage sheet and I simply matted it onto orange card and used lovely paper from the
Haunted Mansion ATC set. I added some ribbon and trim and created a knot bow.

I used the Haunted Mansion ATC set for the backgrounds and collaged Halloween elements. The dotty card is from my stash and was folded to make the card base.

* Path of Positivity: Peeping Tom

Hello!

Today is the start of a new Path of Positivity challenge.
The challenge lasts for the month of October.

This month the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of
Fall into a Book.

Prizes this month include:
  • FOUR images from Ike's Artour guest sponsor for this month, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all qualifying entrants.
  • ONE image (value of $5 or less) from Scribbles Designs, for the post or project that the team deems most inspiring of the bunch based on all qualifying entrants.
  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital SnapShots for each person chosen as a DT Delight.

Our optional theme this month is
Fall into a Book.

We want you to make a project inspired by a book or a story. Getting lost in a good book is a great way to relax and find some positivity. The written word can transport you to many places, whether fictional or non-fictional. Sit back, open a book and let it lead you down the Path of Positivity.

I used Peeping Tom from Ike's Art to make my project.

My friend gave me a book for my birthday. The book is called 'A Street Cat Named Bob' by James Bowen. It's a two part omnibus and contains the sequel, 'The World According to Bob'. Bob was a ginger cat and he choose James, a young man recovering from a drug addiction and living in sheltered accommodation, to be his owner. They became local celebrities busking and then selling The Big Issue on the streets of London.  It's a really heart warming, autobiographical story. A film, by the same name, was released.

I have always loved cats and have had at least one in my life for most of my life. Recently my kitty passed away and now there is such a void in my life and it has to be said that our house feels a little empty. We will most likely adopt another kitty or two in time, but for now we are having a little freedom to travel around.

My cat is coloured with Copic markers and die cut. Whilst the die was still in place I used Antique Linen and blended ink into the background. I matted it onto black card. The background was stamped with Distress Oxides applied to a stencil and spritzed with water. I used Fossilised Amber and Rusty Hinge Oxides and love the way it turned out. I added some stamping to frame the background and popped the image on top at an angle. I'm going to add this to my loose leaf journal.

I wasn't sure whether to include a close up photo or not - my fur colouring technique leaves a lot to be desired. My crafty friend, Annabel Hayes has brilliant colouring tutorials on colouring fur with pencils - pity I was using Copics :)

If, like me, you love cats, then please come to visit the Cat Lovers Hop over at The Peaceful Garden Blog. It starts on the 25th October and there are loads of fabulous sponsors and many super prizes. It is a wonderful community too!

Many thanks to Ike's Art, this month's guest sponsor,

and to Scribbles Designs as the ongoing sponsor of the challenge

We would love to see your creations!
Just make sure that your entry is positive, inspirational, motivational or encouraging in some way!

* Vera Lane Studio: Cookie Swap

Hello

Today at Vera Lane Studio, we have a new digi set for you. It is the delightful Cookie Swap set and has three little girls, some cookies and two sentiments.

Here is the journal page that I made:

I coloured my cookie girl and her cookies with Copic markers and fussy cut them. The background was made with one of my favourite stencils, designed by Janet Klein for AALL & Create, #96 Dandelion Field . I applied Distress Oxides directly onto the stencil, spritzed it with water, then stamped it onto card. I added stamping around the edges using Janet's stamp set, #421 Sugar Cookies, and some tone on tone stamping with the #404 Visual Ingredients stamps. Bipasha's washi acts as grounding.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

* Happy Halloween

Hello!

Today I am sharing a card I made for the challenge at Lost Coast Designs.

I used one of Lost Coast Designs Yoga Cats (number 5) and borrowed a hat and broomstick from Tim's Snarky Cats. I stood the kitty on one leg so that he looks as if he is dancing :) The background is smooshed Distress Oxides with the door from Door and Window Set stamped in black. I bleached out some of the door arch's colour. I added some white and black script stamping as well as white splatters.

Thanks for stopping by today.
