* Vera Lane Studio: Bright Ideas

Hello!

Today sees the release of a new set of digis from Vera Lane Studio.

The set is called Bright Ideas and features a cute little girl, called Harper, with two very different facial expressions. She comes with a thought bubble, a lightbulb and a question mark, as well as a sentiment.

I made this card:

My background is a brayered acrylic paint gelli print with some bubble wrap stamping in white acrylic and stamped scribbly flowers in black ink. I inked the edges in black and placed Harper on foam pads on top of some washi tape.

The lovely quote is from Roald Dahl's The Twits and was printed, cut into strips and inked before being glued directly onto the gelli print.

Some silver dots and white flowers were added for interest.
I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane. It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

You'll find us HERE on Facebook in a closed group.
There's always tons of fabulous inspiration!
I guarantee, you'll get a very warm welcome!

Thanks for stopping by today.
xoxo

* Janis Turns 60: Chocolate ATC

Hello!

One of my blogging buddies, Janis from Her Peaceful Garden, turned 60 this month and she's organised an ATC party. Each week in February she'll announce a new theme.

Week 4's theme is ... Chocolate.

Here is the ATC I made:

I used an image from Vera Lane Studio called Cake Sketches and coloured it with Copics. After it was fussy cut and the edges inked in black, I added a few white Posca pen marks and glazed the icing and strawberries with Glossy Accents. My background is heart DP showing Janis's love of chocolate. I added some gold stickers as a border, printed the sentiment, inked the edges and glued them at a jaunty angle next to the cake which I popped on foam pads.

Thanks for stopping by today.

* Janis Turns 60: Tea Time ATC

Hello!

One of my blogging buddies, Janis from Her Peaceful Garden, turned 60 this month and she's organised an ATC party. Each week in February she'll announce a new theme.

Week 3's theme is ... Adorable Teapot Collection

Janis has a lovely collection of teapots which you can see here.
Unfortunately I don't have any teapot stamps, but I did find these very old Tilda dimensional stickers in my stash:

I thought I'd go with a pink theme! The ATC background is brayered acrylic paints with modelling paste through a stencil and some stamping. The edges are inked. The two dimensional stickers are all that it needed. I printed the sentiment, cut it into strips and inked the edges. I finished the ATC off with some tiny flat back pearls. I hope Janis likes it!

Thanks for stopping by today.

* Crafts Galore Encore: Feline Frenzy

Hello!

Today I'm sharing my DT project for the new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore, but first, I have an announcement:

We are holding DT call this month. All details can be found on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Post for March. It would be lovely if you could join us!

The new challenge is Anything Goes and is kindly sponsored by Createful Heart Digis & Design.

I chose this fun stamp called Feline Frenzy and here is my card:

I like the joyful image of these cats! I imagine this is what they get up to when their owners are away from home.
I coloured the image with Copics and fussy cut around the frame. I made a textured mat for the image by inking with an embossing folder and added a second textured background edged with Memento ink. The oversized felt hearts show my love of cats.

Thank you to Mary at Createful Heart Digis for sponsoring this challenge:

I hope you'll pop to over to Crafts Galore Encore to see the DT's wonderful designs.
We'd love to see your creations.
Remember the challenge is always 'Anything Goes' and so you can create any type of project - it doesn't have to be a card.

* Gecko Galz: Paris in the Springtime

Hello!

March is here - hurray!!
I love it when the days start getting longer and a little brighter and warmer. I'm really not a winter girl!

Over at Gecko Galz we have a new customer challenge for March and the theme is Paris in Springtime.

Here is my first card:

I decided to go for a vintage Paris look and choose to do some decoupaging with this lovely image from the new Butterfly Dreams Collage Set.

I printed the image 3 times - one for the base, one for fussy cutting around the  Eiffel Tower oval, the butterflies and flowers and the third for cutting specific elements such as the Eiffel Tower, the border strip, the two butterflies and the white roses. All my fussy cut edges were inked with Vintage Photo. I used foam tape to add the first decoupaged layer and then tiny glue dots to add the elements, making sure to fold and bend the card to add some dimension. I added some glitter to the butterfly wings and also to the border trim.

I mounted the image onto distressed kraft card and inked the edges. My background is embossed reft card that has been lightly inked to bring out the texture. The edges were also distressed and inked. I added some lovely cream crochet lace and popped the image mat on top with foam pads for further dimension.

Butterfly Dreams

My second card:

For this I chose beautiful paper from the C'est La Vie paper collection. I added a stamp of the Eiffel Tower (that I made into a png file and altered the transparency) from the Paris Flea Market Stamp set.
I distressed the edges of the paper and added some Wilted Violet Distress ink.
I printed and fussy cut an icon from the Parisian Garden Kit and popped her on foam pads, along with some natural cheesecloth, alongside the Eiffel Tower. The image was matted onto violet card.

That's all from me for now!

I hope you'll join our 'Paris in the Springtime' challenge.
The winner gets a whopping $25 shopping spree at the Gecko Galz shop.

The only rule is that you must use at least one Gecko Galz product ...
