* Winter Stag in Snow Shaker Card

Hello!

I have a shaker card to share today. I used stamps and stencils from Inkylicious.

First I used a circle stencil to make the inky background from Distress Oxide inks. I spritzed it with water to blot out some colour to resemble snowfall and I added some white Posca paint pen dots. I used the Mountain/Valley stencil with some grey Memento ink to create snow mounds on the ground and I stamped the Tall Pine Trees in Ranger Black Archival ink. The Silhouette Stag was heat embossed with black powder.
I secured the inky circle onto a piece of embossed white card and built up the shaker element by die cutting a scalloped circle inside a scalloped circle and repeating until I had the depth I required (about 8 - 10 pieces of card). The glitter and stars were placed in onto the image and the acetate secured in place with die cut white glitter card. I matted the shaker onto blue mirror card and popped it onto a 6 x 6 inch card base.

That's all for today!

Thanks for stopping by.

Hello!

Last week saw the introduction of the Holiday Monsters at Vera Lane Studio.

These cute monsters, 2 boys and a girl, make quirky festive cards and I teamed the girl monster with the mistletoe from the Season's Greetings set:

My girl monster is coloured with Copic markers and has white Posca pen highlights. I love her little vest and pants! Her eyes have Glossy Accents and her earrings sparkle with Stickles. She's popped on foam pads on a gelli print background with some Vintage Photo music scale stamping along the edges and torn gold washi tape for added texture and interest. The Mistletoe berries are also coated with Glossy Accents to make them shine. I did add a few snowflakes with Iridescent Glitter paste which you can see if you screw your eyes up tightly! The lovely sentiment comes with the set and I added some gold acrylic paint along the edges.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane.
It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Hello!

Today we have a new release at Vera Lane Studio. It is Matilda 2 and she is back to celebrate 2019! She comes in a 4 digi set: 1 plain dress, 2 patterned dresses and one 2019 New Year dress.

Here is the card I made:

Matilda is wearing one of the patterned dresses and she is coloured with Copics. She has Stickles glitter on her eyes and a somewhat fussy and sparkly background to match her sentiment. The background paper is a gelli print made with a flourish background stamp. I finger painted the edges of the card with gold paint and added some stamped flourishes and some stencilled gold Sparkle Medium. Matilda is grounded on some glitter washi tape and her sentiment is from Tim Holtz's Small Talk sticker pad.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane.
It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Hello!

For my DT day at Vera Lane Studio I made a fun Christmas card.

I used one of the elves from Christmas Cheer and coloured her with Copic markers, adding highlights with a white Posca pen. I fussy cut her and two trees from the set, leaving a thin white border. I made the background with Distress Oxides  adding water droplets to bleach out some colour and also white paint splatters to replicate snow fall. Two die cut snow mounds made from white card. These were added to the bottom portion and the card and the elf and trees were popped on foam pads for some dimension. The sentiment is from the Calm and Bright set. The edges of the card were inked in black and matted onto dark blue card, then attached to a white card base.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane.
It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Hello!

Have you been following the 24 Days of Deck The Halls over at the Gecko Galz blog? The DT have made some incredibly beautiful pieces using vintage and retro images and stamps!

Today is day 8 and here is what I made:

Joyful Santa Art Doll:

This was so simple to make and looks lovely as a decorative piece on my window sill.

Santa stands on a base made from a cut down cardboard canister which has been painted with black acrylic paint. He stands 10 inches tall. The vintage Santa head is from the Christmas Icons collage sheet. I resized it and printed it twice, being sure to flip one image horizontally so that they could be lined up back to back. I fussy cut the images and inked the edges with Vintage Photo and then black ink. The simple shaped body is made from cardboard packaging - I made sure to leave a strip of cardboard where the head could be attached. The body is covered with Christmas paper from the Merry and Bright paper pack. The boots are made from thick black cardstock with a coating of Glossy Accents to make them shiny.  A piece of florist wire was bent in half and attached to the body and down the legs so that Santa stands on top of the base. To finish, I added a black ribbon belt along with a gold coloured buckle I found in my stash. I gave him a fur collar and coat trim by glueing some Snow Fibre onto his coat.
I love how he turned out!

Angel Tree Decoration

My angel's head is from the Vintage Angels collage sheet. I made her gown from pink paper from the Victoria paper pack. The paper was pleated, gathered together at the top and glued in place. I added some gold paint along the pleats and along the bottom of the gown. Some cream lacy trim and some gold sequin waste were added along the front of the angel's gown. She was given feather boa wings and a gold tinsel pipe-cleaner halo. A piece of fancy ribbon trim was attached for hanging her on the tree.
I think she looks lovely!

Hello!

I'm sharing a quick Christmas card today. It really was so easy to make and looks stunning in real life!

I used a stencil from Imagination crafts called The Clearing. I taped it to my black card and applied Imagination Crafts Sparkle Medium with a palette knife through the stencil. The stencil was peeled away and the paste left to dry. Once it was dry it was matted onto gold card and then attached to a 6 x 6 inch card base. A gold die cut Christmas sentiment was added as the final touch.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Hello!

It's Monday once more, so it's my turn to share my DT project for Vera Lane Studio. Today sees a new Christmas release called Calm and Bright. It's two beautiful Christmas Tree Girls and a sentiment. I love them!

I made a card, simply because you can never have too many Christmas cards.

As usual I used Copic markers to colour the images. I added white highlights and Crystal Stickles to the tree baubles and star and also to the girls eyelashes.
The background is a die cut panel over the top of a gelli print. I matted it onto green card which I edged in black ink before placing it onto a card base. I added the sentiment directly onto the background. The girls are popped on foam for some dimension and grounded by a strip of the gelli print. Some white glitter card stars were added as a final touch.
I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane.
It's such a friendly, fun place to be!

Thanks for stopping by today.
