* Colour Crazy: Alice the Alpaca

Hello!

I am delighted to be back for my final time as a Guest DT on the Colour Crazy Challenge blog.

The challenge is always Anything Goes, but of course your card must feature some colouring: use any medium you wish. This week the super cool Dr. Digi is the sponsor.

I was lucky to receive a digi stamp to work with and I chose  Alice the Alpaca

Here is the tag I made:

Isn't Alice sweet! I decided to give her some sleek fur, as she's all spruced up for a party. I did this by layering strokes of Copic markers. I added a few white highlights to her hooves and eyes with a white Posca paint pen. I fussy cut her leaving a thin white border and popped her on foam pads.
Her background was coloured with Distress Oxides in Spiced Pumpkin and Fired Brick applied with a piece of folded acetate. Water was dripped to bleach out some colour and white, black and gold paint splatters were applied. I added a little stamped text and inked all around the tag edges with Vintage Photo. Next I stamped a scalloped border using an Inkylicious stamp and heat embossed it in Bronze metallic. I swiped the Versamark pad along the all the other tag edges to heat emboss them in bronze also.
Next I added modelling paste through a freebie stencil I received with a papercraft magazine. Once this was dry I went over the modelling paste with my white Posca pen to revert it back to white, a technique I learned from a bloggy friend, Bonnie.
Some hessian trim was adhered to the bottom of the tag; I frayed the ends and I applied some gold metallic paint to this with my finger. Alice was popped on top of the hessian.
I used alpha stamps to stamp out the sentiment, then cut it into strips and inked the edges in Spiced Pumpkin. It is glued directly onto the background and outlined with a black fine liner pen. I die cut some tiny stars and heat embossed them with bronze powder and attached them around the sentiment.
Finally, some orange raffia strings were looped through the top of the tag and the ends threaded with wooden beads.

Here are the Copic markers I used:

Many thanks to Dr. Digi for sponsoring this challenge.

I hope you'll find time to share your projects at the Colour Crazy Challenge

That's all from me for today!

xoxo
