* Vera Lane Studio: Crush

 Hello

It's my Vera Lane Studio DT once again and today we have a new digi set release called Crush. It features three cute characters and two sentiments. 

I made a little hanging heart ornament using two of the characters..

My images are coloured with Copics and fussy cut. The background is Tracy Evan's heat embossed Heart Grunge stamp over brayered acrylic paints.. I added some tiny black hearts using Tracy's Heartfelt stamp set. Abs' washi tape acts as grounding for this cute couple.

 Hello

Today I am sharing another simple card featuring a different quirky Zinski girl. She is one of the five quirky girls in Elena Zinski's stamp set 'Naughty or Nice' which is released by Funky Fossil Designs.

It's really hard to tell if this little one has been naughty or nice! Her expression is adorable and her slightly wonky mouth and lips just make me smile.

She is coloured with Copics and has some glittery wings and a sparkly crown. Her background is Distress Oxides (Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry) over a white heat embossed stamp called Lined Squares, also from Funky Fossil. I grounded my girl with some AALL & Create washi tape (# Wishy Washi)

I gave my fairy girl a low neckline dress - when I've looked at what others have done with her, she has a high neckline. .. oops!

Today sees that start of a new challenge at Crafts Galore Encore. The theme is always 'Anything Goes' and you can enter 3 different projects The challenge runs all month until mid day (BST) 29th September.

Here is a card I made with Flower Pots:

I coloured the stamps with Copics and fussy cut them. The background is a stamped and heat embossed AALL & Create stamp with Distress Oxides for colour. I used a Lawn Fawn die for the frame and cut my background accordingly. The digi images are glued directly onto the background and a stamped sentiment was cut into strips and adhered.

* Gecko Galz: Ballerina Girl

 Hello

Here comes September and Gecko Galz has a brand new customer challenge. This month we are featuring Ballerina Girls and we can't wait to see what you make.

The challenge runs from the 1st to the 29th September.

Here is my project:

I altered the cover of a hard backed notebook.

The beautiful ballerina image is from the At The Ballet collage set and I teamed it with paper from the Land of the Fey ATC set. I added gesso, then grit paste through a stencil onto the book cover and when it was dry I lightly brushed gold wax over it. It gives a lovely worn, yet opulent look.

I added the topper next  and added more gold in the form of acrylic paint along some of the torn edges of the background.  A piece of cheesecloth and some die cut and coloured flowers and leaves were arranged in two opposite corners. The ends of the leaves were left loose to add some dimension and movement. 

I finished the cover by splattering white and gold paint all over. I love the shabby chic look this gives.

* Vera Lane Studio: Cheerleader

 Hello

It's my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and today I have a wobble card to share featuring the cutie Cheerleader digi set.

I coloured the Cheerleader with Copic pens and Polychromo pencils. The background is a heat embossed star stamp designed by Bipasha Bk for AALL & Create.  I added Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks and added Reverse Stars in black to the edges.

I didn't have a wobble mechanism, so I made one from a piece of coiled jewellery wire and attached it to the back of the cheerleader and the background.

Hello

The August Gecko Galz ATC Swap had the Black and White with a Pop of Colour theme. 

This is what I made. with the specified collage sets.

I created a little folding book to tuck my 3 ATCs into. The photo above shows the booklet closed and the lacy bag I popped it into for transit.

 I decorated each of the booklets 3 outside panels and popped the ATCs inside. All the sentiments are song titles or words from songs.

This photo shows the 3 ATCs. Unusually for me they are quite flat, but I did add some texture and interest with Glossy Accents and glitter to most of the images.

Here you can see the little tuck spots for each ATC.

 

My bubble blowing girl has glitter in her hair and Glossy Accent bubbles:

I gave the strawberry letters some Diamond Stickles glitter treatment to make it look plump and sumptuous. The spectacles have Glossy Accent and glitter lenses.

I decided to place two images together to make this ATC: Lots of glitter was added too:

And this shows the back of the booklet when it is opened out.

I added some extra decoration to the boots - the purple ones got polka dots, the mushroom ones got glitter and the swirly ones got dots and glitter. I liked these words from Nancy Sinatra's Boots song:

And the follow up Boots song words just asked to be placed with this fun image. The boots have Glossy Accents and the petals have pink glitter:

This lovely image looks so familiar and I have been racking my brains trying to think where I have seen it before. I love the optical illusion paper behind this one and made this the front cover:

I coloured my image with Copic markers and fussy cut her. She has some glitter on her crown and wings, and Glossy Accents on her eyes. Her background is made with the Faded Hearts stamp, also from Funky Fossil - I heat embossed in white and dipped into puddles of Distress Oxides to add the blue colours.

My girl is grounded with strips of inky card and has one of the sentiments from the stamp set.
