If You Give A Crafter A Cookie: Little Birdie Blue

Hello!

Today is the start of a brand new challenge at
If You Give A Crafter A Cookie.
I hope you'll join us.

You can enter your projects until the 22nd March.

 Here is the inspiration photo:

This time we are sponsored by the wonderful

A Day For Daisies      and        Oddball Art

Here is my quick and simple card using  Happy Birdie Blue from A Day For Daisies:

I used a Little Claire  Designs scalloped Dinkie Card as the base. The background is faux mother of pearl card, created by dipping a ball of cling film into white metallic acrylic paint and randomly dabbing it onto heavy white card stock. Once the paint is completely dry, distress inks are blended onto the card - the paint acts as a resist and when buffed gives a beautiful shimmer effect.
I used an X-Cut scalloped square to die cut the card and also die cut the 'hello' sentiment from the faux mother of pearl card. The beautiful images were coloured with alcohol markers and fussy cut leaving a thin white border. They were glued directly onto the background.

Here you can see the shimmer a little better:

That's all from me for today. Now it's over to you...

Please pop over to the
If You Give A Crafter A Cookie
challenge blog to check out the lovely designs by the rest of the DT.

We would love for you to share your projects in the challenge!

You could win digi stamps or become one of our 'Top Cookies'!

Thanks for stopping by today!
xoxo
